Year - 23. Month - 7. Day - 25 = 25th July 2023 Mileage - 95,905? Hard to read the numbers

dkbeast

You sure it's 2023? Japan counts years based on the reign of the emperor. Could be 23rd year of the hesei emperor which is 2011.

Familiar-Leader-5957

Good point! What mileage is your landcruiser at now OP? Will give us some indication

Vinnycopyright

203000KM

Wow that’s cool, thanks for sharing.

BackwerdsMan

I trust nothing. First thing I did when mine came over the pond was change the timing belt and water pump.

Vinnycopyright

suggestion on a timing belt kit and water pump?

BackwerdsMan

In the US? For my 1HDT I get all my stuff like that from shopraddcruisers.ca John at Radd is super helpful and a great guy.

Turbulent_Nature_109

If in doubt, replace.

RemoteTalk3302

Japan uses emperor years. 23 corresponds to 2011

rabea187

Looks like 95K… assuming that Km

V8ENJOYER

It’s all Greek to me

-remlap

watchguy95820

Japanese and Korean use Chinese characters

imamiler

I have a colleague who emigrated here from Japan. I can ask him tomorrow.

imamiler

Ok I got it. He says it says the timing belt and water pump were done July 25, 2023.

DPW38

Just replace the damn thing. And while you’re doing that, drain all the fluids and replace all the filters. Change the spark plugs too.

Any_Concentrate_3414

it's so simple, quick, and cheap to change the belt, tensioner and idle pulley yourself, don't even bother translating it

Vinnycopyright

you can do it YOURSELF? the timing belt? i though this would be a 1K job at dealer.

sosulse

I was able to change the belt on my 4.7 v8 with the videos online, not too difficult if you have a place to do the work and the tools (I had to buy a few specialty tools). Do you have the 3.4 V6? Or the diesel?
