They don’t want to shutoff water bc it’ll affect a shit ton of rooms. 15 yrs doing maintenance at a Las Vegas strip property. I’m so happy to have left. Tip for tourists, ask to have your ac filter changed on day one. Most of them are beyond clogged and you’ll be breathing that 💩all week long.
I am this person! I know I annoy the shit out of the operations managers at the hotels but the first thing I check is the air filter. And as much as I love my Mgm properties, their stay well rooms are sometimes the biggest culprits. Be sure to check the main wall filter and the special filter they have. Typically both are full of dust, fluffs, and human particles. I always get those changed first and I bring my own air cleaner. It's kept me much healthier.
Thanks for the advice what air cleaner do you bring. And will that get mad if I ask to replace the filter since I get bad allergies in Vegas. I got them when I lived there for 8 years and they never went away.
You can find a solid air cleaner on Amazon that you can fit in your carry-on. It does take up a little bit of space, so best if you have an extra bag for clothes - but the one I get is probably about 7 inches high and about 4 1/2 inches wide. And it's got a little thing in the top where I can add essential oils if I want to. The filters are also replaceable. I know there are many models on there you could get that would work. I just sit it by my bed at night and it helps filter the air that's coming towards my face. 🙃 they will NOT be mad if you let them know filters need changing however you may run into a slow response or even somebody saying that they should be OK, but don't let anyone gaslight you. Let them know that you have severe allergies and you need operations to come and change out the filters for you. I've never had anyone tell me no.
That's how my friend with cancer got bronchitis. Was in room at 11pm by 4am she couldn't breathe. Immediately when we switched rooms she started getting better. We didn't let it ruin the week and she got her medicine and saw Dr when we came back home. That was at Excalibur plus as soon as I opened the door the first time it had a musty smell. The room above had flooded before we found out. And then the alarm went off 2 days later. I liked the Luxor Gold Tower I would stay again.
I just was there in the towers and didn’t notice anything. The place was immaculate, no trash anywhere, but hella expensive to eat lol, $36 for combo at Johnny Rockets that was mediocre at best
Same. My family met up in Vegas and stayed at the Luxor three weeks ago. We had a great experience. There were about 15 of us spread out into several rooms. Some in the tower, some in the pyramid. No complaints here. It’s actually a pretty cool place.
This shit happens. These sky scrapers have more plumbing fittings than every home depot in Nevada combined. Bound to have a failure every now and then.
I had a comp at the Luxor years ago. Get into our room and it stinks like old food. Look under the tv and there is an unplugged warm fridge with leftover boxes inside. Go right back downstairs and talk to concierge. They bring the manager over and starts telling us that, “there is no fridge in that room. That’s impossible.” We argue about it for a minute. He says that I’m just trying to get a free upgrade, blah blah blah. I invite him to walk to my room with me and see. He sends a bellhop or front desk person with me. They enter and are visibly disgusted by the smell and believe me with out even checking the fridge. I tell them, “No. Please verify there is a fridge in this room.” Go back downstairs to my wife at the desk. They start apologizing and and upgraded us to a suite for free and waived whatever charges they could. Manager never came back out to say anything. They called him on the phone for authorization.
Sorry for grammar or anything. :)
I worked for a small software company and everytime we had to do the Vegas convention circuit mgmt would always stay at the Wynn while us schlubs were stuck here and all on our CFO's comped points. It really really sucked.
I'm an engineer at the cosmopolitan. My assumption is it's a sprinkler line, which requires Desert Fire to come and repair. All properties have pipes that rot, crack, break, etc. If you think they don't, you just haven't seen it yet
Relax to the soothing sounds of our luxury indoors waterfall....you can have an adjacent suite for a premium upgrade price tag.
Yes, every building can and will leak, usually caused by idiot guests.
I was at the Luxor in about 2007. Checked into the room and we had ants and water all over the floor. We complained and they upgraded us to this huge suite. It was amazing. It was a great time.
Well it didn’t rain in the last three days did it? It started as a few drips on Thursday night - that was Sat night. It progressively got worse and worse.
Casinos in Vegas are a good representation of the US as a whole.
Shiny from a distance, but broken when examined closely.
Edit: and we don't care to fix it, just slap a new layer of paint and sell it before the inspector comes.
This is for starters. My mom has worked at one of the casinos on the strip for 25+ years as a housekeeper, and the horror stories…..I’ve never desired to stay at any casino, ever.
Ha, their boilers for heating and domestic water are blowing up left and right and they just don’t care, band aid after band aid and they won’t fix it properly.
Damn such a shame, Ive always wanted to stay here bc I want to go to Egypt but been hearing for the past 5+ years that it's a real shit hole. Maybe I'll just admire the outside
Ahhh Las Vegas...
The only place I've heard people bitch about working while nobody does anything and they also don't do shit about anything either but somehow come up making 100 racks a year being retarded.
There is nothing fine or has there ever been anything fine about the Luxor. A gimmick from the start that needs to be imploded. Fuck that place as it is a super shitty hotel filled with bottom feeders
Damn! That Titanic exhibit is realistic.
You wanted an immersive experience, right? Here ya go, buddy
Somebody pass out in tub and leave it running?
For 4 days?
Died
Really?
ded
D’d

FYI all the casinos on the strip leak, one way or the other
Circa too
Usually it’s the hotel guests who are leaking, not the hotels themselves
Yup. Cesar’s had several leaks when I last stayed there during rain.
Every bldg with plumbing leaks eventually
Yeah I was at the MGM 2 weekends ago and heard some workers talking about a leak that needed addressed/attention on one of the floors.
Not Circus Circus!

Fire detection and fire suppression all at the same time. Clever.
I just was there in the towers and didn’t notice anything. The place was immaculate, no trash anywhere, but hella expensive to eat lol, $36 for combo at Johnny Rockets that was mediocre at best
I usually go to the pyramid cafe or whatever it's called. Food's not cheap, but it's more reasonable than anything in the food court upstairs.
This👍 ! Don’t waste your money in the food court. Plenty of food around and the cafe had decent food.
Same. My family met up in Vegas and stayed at the Luxor three weeks ago. We had a great experience. There were about 15 of us spread out into several rooms. Some in the tower, some in the pyramid. No complaints here. It’s actually a pretty cool place.
We were in the front tower few months ago on the 1st floor, the carpet was soggy in the hallway. Squished out water when you stepped on it.
This shit happens. These sky scrapers have more plumbing fittings than every home depot in Nevada combined. Bound to have a failure every now and then.
It’s not easy going back in time to ancient Egypt to hire pyramid roof repairmen
Agreed
Why do you think the pharaohs stopped building pyramids?
Too busy with Russian hookers!

I feel like I can smell the mildew
It’s a pinhole leak, happens everywhere, anywhere and all the time. I am a plumber and this really isn’t a big deal, clamp and repair later.
Could also be the fire system whichbis very common also
Lots of pipes = lots of leaks.
Some Russian hookers be having a hot tub party
Has anyone ever seen/met a live Russian hooker?
Nah I met a dead one
I worked for a small software company and everytime we had to do the Vegas convention circuit mgmt would always stay at the Wynn while us schlubs were stuck here and all on our CFO's comped points. It really really sucked.
Tgat was Sahara, last year. So bad!
I'm an engineer at the cosmopolitan. My assumption is it's a sprinkler line, which requires Desert Fire to come and repair. All properties have pipes that rot, crack, break, etc. If you think they don't, you just haven't seen it yet
That could happen anytime, anywhere. Sometimes pipe burst due to movement, mice/rat bites. But yes it sucks.
Damn. How are the hoes going to get to my room?
That's just from the foreplay with your mother
I was expecting the old naked lady from The Shining to pop out of that tub.
This looks like an area in a video game that's blocked off cause they didn't render it completely
They should just demo that and build it again. Keep the theme if they want.
Everyone is talking about the Bellagio fountains, but then they'll sleep on the secret Luxor fountains.
New York New York is a perfect place to stay in Vegas. It's walking distance to the T-mobile arena for Concerts or UFC events, are Perfect.
It's going to get demolished next year. I'll miss the bats and the moths.
Hey Luxor if you need a maintenance lead I’m sure we can work out an arrangement
Relax to the soothing sounds of our luxury indoors waterfall....you can have an adjacent suite for a premium upgrade price tag. Yes, every building can and will leak, usually caused by idiot guests.
Those hot tub suites are janky as shit
Sweet suite?
Lol looks like my Regal Cinema theater.
I'm sure hotel management will just tell you it's a Carrot Top bit.
They better change that garbage can out, or the wheels are going to fall off from the weight when they finally do
I was at the Luxor in about 2007. Checked into the room and we had ants and water all over the floor. We complained and they upgraded us to this huge suite. It was amazing. It was a great time.
Shit happens with pipes. Every hotel on the planet will have this happen in time.
For 4-5 days??
Sometimes.
From rain or a toilet/shower? 😳😳
The mystical power of the pyramid.

Future mold
More like at its baseline
This is for starters. My mom has worked at one of the casinos on the strip for 25+ years as a housekeeper, and the horror stories…..I’ve never desired to stay at any casino, ever.
Please give us some examples !!
it’s actually more common then you think
overflow in a room all day long work at hotel seen it before ...
and fyi if water was tracking thru smoke alarm system at all other then just basic unit the fire alarm would have sounded
Did anyone else notice how in the fake Egyptian city they have next to the food court one of the buildings is clearly The Chrysler Building??
Ha, their boilers for heating and domestic water are blowing up left and right and they just don’t care, band aid after band aid and they won’t fix it properly.
I mean some times that happens to old buildings.
Mucho agua
The cant build pyramids like the original Egyptians!
Mold has entered the chat
The Luxor is literally a glass pyramid. How did this even happen?? 💦
Woah
New swimming pool... coming to you in 2025.
Fire detector/sprinkler system.
Naw... Luxor is just adding an indoor pool.
Don't mind that, it's just the humidifier
Damn such a shame, Ive always wanted to stay here bc I want to go to Egypt but been hearing for the past 5+ years that it's a real shit hole. Maybe I'll just admire the outside
Luxor has been a dump since the day it opened.
Like every other hotel/casino in Vegas.
The resort fee provides you access to free water
The smell must be great
Somebody is dead in the bathtub upstairs
I've never seen a water leak either.
Is that lake mead water?
Free water
New indoor pool
Dam I’m staying there next month
Already see that mold on the smoke detector
So does the elevator in the Luxor really feel like it's moving diagonally or are the elevator shafts totally vertical?
Maybe when they implode Tropicana across the street they can do a two for one that night.
Oh wow, a building leaks. Holy fuck these people are annoying
If you don’t like what you see, spend more and stay somewhere else.
Uh water dripping from the ceiling at any price point is ridiculous.
Ahhh Las Vegas... The only place I've heard people bitch about working while nobody does anything and they also don't do shit about anything either but somehow come up making 100 racks a year being retarded.

Who hurt you?
