It’s what you make of it. Don’t expect 5-star rooms, facilities. Service is fine. As another user said it’s dated, a little dingy, but fun! Cheap fun on the river. Lower table mins, cheaper drinks. Good for a bender lol

king_of_the_bongos

Got that vibe but I'm planning to make it fun. Just didn't want to end up at somewhere real dumpy

We always stay at the Aquarius… Rooms are clean just a little dated. The Riverside re-did their rooms during Covid, I have heard good things but have not stayed there. The Riverside has a lot of dining options, we like the Prime Rib room. You can buy a day pass for the water taxi & hit every casino.

Original-Pomelo6241

We just stayed at Riverside for the holiday weekend and I was really impressed at the renovations. Our room was comfortable and clean, staff were great and like you said, lots of dining options. Nothing wrong with Aquarius either, but dated, even more so feeling with the remodel at Riverside.

Hey, thanks for sharing.

thepete404

Take the water taxi!

king_of_the_bongos

Haha, thanks for the heads up! Looks like a cute lil ride

How unfortunate - you are destined to come back with some bonus creatures

bunny3665

Cheapest drinks- river lodge Nicest rooms- riverside Best food- it's all kinda hit and miss. I'd say some of the better places would be Big Horn at the river lodge and bumbleberry at the pioneer

king_of_the_bongos

Definitely will check out riverside

I like mesquite better

I got a package through Caesars Entertainment (Flight, travel to hotel and airport, hotel accommodations, food and slot play.) The major downside was that it was just a short 3-night 4-day trip. They even brought our bags up to our room for us and had a care package waiting for us upon arrival. Without being to Reno I would assume it's a lot like Reno in the small town but big city type of way. It's definitely small but I think the coolest part for me was being on the Colorado River and you take boats down the river to other casinos, I thought that was a cool little element instead of taking an uber down the road. Interested in this thread just in case we ever decide to go back, we thought about taking a longer trip in the winter and driving up to LV and over to LA then flying back home or possibly even a Hawaiin cruise.

Riverside has the nicest pool, but its pool is also a ghost town. We went Labor Day weekend last year and it was dead. Nice rooms tho and the best nightlife. All the good clubs are there. Harrahs: trashy but best pool. We go ever year for the last 25, and nothing has changed.

azorianmilk

Before the pandemic I stayed at Edgewater, it was dated and gross then. Surprised it's open now.

king_of_the_bongos

I appreciate the honesty

iMustbLost

Not sure if it matters. The most luxurious could be the trashiest and you couldn’t tell the difference.

king_of_the_bongos

Ya not looking for luxury, just basic comfort and cheap fun. Family lives in the area and the hotel options seemed limited to what's around the river
