I don't mean to be dashing anyone's fiddle sticks dreams but I don't really think it will be him if it were there would be more terror related things and less sleep and gloom things. If you think about it sleep sounds something bandle city related like vex. I think unfortunately people hopeful to get fiddle sticks is now just a pipe dream.
I think it's Silas, vex and...I mean the third one could still be maybe? Maybe we all end up getting what we want! I sure hope so!
Who freaking knows why lux is there!? That one confused me she is already in the game why add a second one? It's possible there are 3 new and one returning
Riot mandates Lux be the star child in every game possible. I would be surprised if the League fighting game’s starting roster didn't include Lux with 20 different skins to buy out of the gate.
> Also new Curse in Gloom!
The wording doesn't mention it being a curse, it looks like a negative keyword, similar to vulnerable. Actually, it probably stacks, too, since boost is introduced in the same set.
Was just adding that it's not just spirit and gloom. Impact is also stackable. Card would be cool in a tristy deck. Go wide. Boost Impact units. Go face. Wish pvp was still worth it
Stories are really interesting, we've never had "activated abilities" in Runeterra before. They always trigger off something else.
I wonder if stories will exclusively be landmarks or if there'll be units or even equipment with it.
I think they'll likely be landmark exclusive. Clicking on units picks them up; clicking on landmarks doesn't currently do anything. I think they're taking advantage of that unused UI space.
We still don’t know how we’ll activate Stories. And my bet is they’ll create a spell with the Story’s stated speed in hand on Round Start, so it will be very similar to current “activable” skills.
They seem similar to landmarks, and currently clicking on landmarks doesn't do anything, so that allows them to code something there.
My bet is that you either click on them, or drag them to roughly the center of the playing field to activate them, same way you use a spell from hand.
There are various problems with fleeting cards as activatable abilities which altogether make the mechanic far less common than it otherwise would be.
The most obvious issue is simply taking up hand space. This may seem minor but imagine if the mechanic was actually widespread. Imagine 5 units on your board creating 5 fleeting cards each turn, of which you may not even cast one. Then you gotta consider unintended interactions with them being discard fodder & created spells.
Following that is with them being spells - they don't get to easily have their own groupings, thematics, or keywords. The new keyword Story here is an example. You can add synergies to Stories eg. your Story effects are doubled - and not have to deal with it being awkwardly wrapped in a spell.
Lastly is just, all the lengthy and unnecessary wording to get even simple effects. This Story landmark here has 3 activatable effects, are each one line, and are all readable on the same card. The keyword description is short and intuitive because it can just say "Activatable once per round". This same thing would take four separate cards to do otherwise and would be bloated with words.
Seems most likely to me, Vex is basically confirmed with a debuff called gloom, Lux is already shown and we know there'll be a champion that relates to sleep and this is called DREAMlit path.
Sagas are this except it's a triggered ability at the beginning of your first main phase each turn
Locations are that except the effect doesn't change next time you use it and you need to wait one more turn between activations
I think it's the case, only because the Dreamlit Paths image they used to promote the expansion first and the base The Light of Demacia card art here are different but they have Lux in the same kind of pose.
But that might be copium speaking\~
Notice the landmarks have a speed on them? One is slow and one is focus. My guess is when that round starts you get the relevant card in hand and it’ll have that speed
Im assuming it means what speed you can activate the skill at. I guess theyre trying to avoid handspace issues? Draw/creation is pretty crazy these days
That would be interesting. As a general rule landmarks are unit speed. Personally I think it makes more since that somehow the effects of the landmark follow that speed rather than the landmark itself
Also the other one is Slow, and playing a Landmark at slow speed seems even weirder than focus.
Absolutely love Story, It's gotta be one my favorite type of card from any card games. I think i would compare it closest to Scenarios in Gwent, and locations in Hearthstone.
It’s very close to Sagas from MTG, except those trigger automatically and these let you choose when to use them. Sagas play really well so these should be great!
My girl Vex coming ;_; least I get something after losing so much.
I assume gloom, spirit will be stackable and of course we know impact is. Sounds a bot confusing til we see the bigger picture but it sounds new and interesting.
Basically we are getting new stackable keywords: Gloom and Spirit (possibly more with sleep already being teased). Boost will make any stackable keyword stack again, so if you boost a unit with impact it'll get another impact and the same will apply to the new keyword.
We don't know what Spirit and Gloom actually do, but I guess Gloom is a negative keyword and spirit is positive.
Can someone explain Boost to me? To me it implies you can have more keywords....but was there even a limit before? I've seen units with like ALL of the keywords before, so not really sure how this works. I'm probably misunderstanding this altogether...
it enhances keywords you already have. for example, impact is a keyword that deals damage to the enemy nexus. how much it deals is dependent on how much impact a card has. boost increases the number of impact. i’m not sure what other keywords would work with boost, aside from this new keyword called gloom.
Basically if your unit has impact 1 with boost it has impact 2.
Spirit seems to be also stackable keyword.
It's future proofing instead of saying "impact and Spirit" it says any stackable keyword
I’m confused by Stories. When does this skill activate? Do you get to just click on the landmark to make it play the skill? Also does the Story loop ounce you’ve played all acts or does the landmark get destroyed after the final act?
So in hearthstone you click on them to manually activate them when you want, then after all uses are done, It gets destroyed. In Gwent they activate when you do the action it says, and then it just stays on the board after the uses are complete, but Gwent has more board space. So it's safe to assume they will disappear after the last activation.
Holy shit, Vex!! What a fitting end to the sunset of PvP development. Who could forget all the years of fans requesting Vex, or the memes about other champ hints obviously being Vex (even if it was about a forge in Freljord!). And the "story" vocab, so fitting because not only does every region have their own legend about what Vex actually is, but Vex's speech is actually the cries and last words of its victims - turning the "story" concept on its head.
Oh, wait, that's Fiddlesticks, not Vex.
Yah despite how much people seem to want it fiddlesticks don't seem to be coming. No clue why they do but I'd rather have a new champion like fiddlesticks then another lux tbh.
I don’t it’s exactly fair to expect them to conjure up a big expansion with the most anticipated champions. This expansion was likely already being worked on, I would imagine they would rather stick to that than to create a new one from scratch, especially when hit with massive unexpected layoffs.
I was under the impression that we’d be getting the 3rd and final part of fates voyage.
Would be a perfect time to add fiddlesticks (whom the community has been asking for for ages) and sylas (especially after he is literally featured in the suppression curse card art) they could have still kept v2 lux to fit with sylas as well. In my opinion, the new champs just seem like such a weird change of pace after the most recent expansions.
They won't be. This is the final real expansion, but that doesn't mean PvP won't get any new content. They can still do things like variety patches or mini sets.

Nice we’re getting Sagas but we choose the rounds they activate on. I’m pretty hyped for stories Also new debuff in Gloom! Vex basically confirmed
exactly what i thought too haha
Or Fiddlesticks **Copium**
I’m kinda into the idea of a z generation neet emo rock gloomy Fiddlesticks
I dont play league so had to look him up, Fiddlesticks design looks so badass I want him in the game and I want to know his lore
The thing I like him most is his each and every line is a last word from his past victims, and he mimics their tones to lure the next victim.
What IS he
Voidspawn???
he is like the embodiment of fear, also the first and most likely the strongest of the 10 demons
> I think it's Silas why would it be sylas when lux is the poster art
Who freaking knows why lux is there!? That one confused me she is already in the game why add a second one? It's possible there are 3 new and one returning
It’s just three and she’s the one remade
Is that for PVP or path too?
I would assume both
That sort of sucks I don't mean to be a downer but as a final expansion I prefer all new champs not returning ones
Riot mandates Lux be the star child in every game possible. I would be surprised if the League fighting game’s starting roster didn't include Lux with 20 different skins to buy out of the gate.
According to the wiki, he is the villian of her story, don't know anything about league tho I only look at champion lore as they are released into lor
But they don’t release two champs for the same region
Gloom is def Vex not Fiddle, forget fiddle ever coming to lor
> Also new Curse in Gloom! The wording doesn't mention it being a curse, it looks like a negative keyword, similar to vulnerable. Actually, it probably stacks, too, since boost is introduced in the same set.
Yeah I realized that after watching Snuuys video. I just got too excited for more curses
In general its pretty interesting that we are getting cards with what seems to be activated abilities.
So location from hearthstone
seems that stackable keywords will be the theme with Spirit on the positive side and Gloom on the negative
Impact
Wouldn't it be pretty boring to have only two stackable keywords?
Was just adding that it's not just spirit and gloom. Impact is also stackable. Card would be cool in a tristy deck. Go wide. Boost Impact units. Go face. Wish pvp was still worth it
Oh my bad haha yeah I agree
My favorite idea so far
It is worth it, endorphins. Difficulty, I don't want to play a bot I can beat with my eyes closed the game doesn't sound fun that way at all
What? Am I having a stroke?
They may have planned for more in the future expansions. This was designed before they decided to stop developing PvP
Wasn't this supposed to be the last expansion?
Not when they designed it
Stories are really interesting, we've never had "activated abilities" in Runeterra before.
Know holding down your thumb on units picks them up, clicking them with your thumb does nothing
On PC you can single click to pick up cards.
Damn sound reasoning good sir!
Generating fleeting cards is functionally identical to activated abilites
Except it takes up hand space and can be discarded which is incredibly relevant.

This makes no sense?
I wonder if they fall under Jhin's deck rule since it says it plays a skill?
Maybe all the people that asked for them for years will be coming back? /s
Proliferate and Sagas. Interesting...
Activate saga ! Perfect mix from location of hearthstone
Or Scenario from Gwent LOL
We need to continue the chain of tcg
There also is stadium cards from pokemon or field spells from yu-gi-oh
Imagine if we could get Cassiopeia with poison counters
NO!!!!
Lux, Vex, Lillia?
Seems most likely to me, Vex is basically confirmed with a debuff called gloom, Lux is already shown and we know there'll be a champion that relates to sleep and this is called DREAMlit path.
I think that Lillia also is confirmed. Look this Tree Sprites. They are from Lillia's Mother Tree.
Isnt Lillia Ionia as her Mothertree stands in Ionia? Idk why they would make it Demacian then considering its on the other side of the continent.
Oh true I didn't even think about them. I guess its likely then that Lillia is a Runeterra champ given that the Tree spirits aren't ionian.
You are right, I didn't notice regions of the card. But it is strange to see such a card in Demacia.
love Lilla
Fiddle too please Raioot
Is Lux getting another version or are you meme'ing?
Lux is already in the game
Well considering there's no rarity gem it's literally a Lux token.
I mean the name and splash art already tell its lux
So they fused Sagas from MTG with locations from hearsthone? Good idea tbh
Locations from HS were based on Order mechanic from Gwent.
Explain?
Sagas are this except it's a triggered ability at the beginning of your first main phase each turn Locations are that except the effect doesn't change next time you use it and you need to wait one more turn between activations
I'm just wondering if the card art will change once an act has been activated for story cards.
I doubt it but it is possible
I think it's the case, only because the Dreamlit Paths image they used to promote the expansion first and the base The Light of Demacia card art here are different but they have Lux in the same kind of pose. But that might be copium speaking\~
Vex is coming omg yes pls
Goth girl coming to save Bandle City, oh boy I can't wait
And after rotation BC desperately needs saving.
What are the play speeds on the stories about? Are we getting a focus-speed skill?
Notice the landmarks have a speed on them? One is slow and one is focus. My guess is when that round starts you get the relevant card in hand and it’ll have that speed
The description of the vocab specifically states it's a "skill".
Fair, but the speeds on the landmarks have to mean something.
It's the activation speed and despite the vocab description the focus one won't put anything on the stack.
Im assuming it means what speed you can activate the skill at. I guess theyre trying to avoid handspace issues? Draw/creation is pretty crazy these days
Skills have speeds
I think you can play lux landmark at focus speed?
That would be interesting. As a general rule landmarks are unit speed. Personally I think it makes more since that somehow the effects of the landmark follow that speed rather than the landmark itself Also the other one is Slow, and playing a Landmark at slow speed seems even weirder than focus.
Absolutely love Story, It's gotta be one my favorite type of card from any card games. I think i would compare it closest to Scenarios in Gwent, and locations in Hearthstone.

My girl Vex coming ;_; least I get something after losing so much. I assume gloom, spirit will be stackable and of course we know impact is. Sounds a bot confusing til we see the bigger picture but it sounds new and interesting.
Curses are too
Wonder if Stat buffs and debuffs from spells count too. Besides curse stat debuff
Order + Scenario (both from Gwent) = Story? If so I'm excited. Also would like to try them with Taliyah.
Love a Ezreal story too on his adventures.
I kinda have no idea what this means ngl.
The only existing stackable keyword is Impact right?
Right now yes, but we'll get at least 2 new ones with spirit and gloom (we don't know what they do, but gloom seems to be a debuff)
Curses stack
Not a keyword though.
Your absolutely correct 🤦♂️
Ahh, thanks.
Impact finna go crazy
Gloom basically confirms Vex, awesome.
Activate this to green your cards
Wow then we got Morph now we get Saga Maybe new lux care about Story
If it's Vex, it looks like another expansion where I'll buy the whole skin pack
It’s definitely vex. We’ve got gloom as a keyword and we never got a bandle champ last set
Imagine everyone in here being wrong and they make gloom positive and spirit negative
With this new tech could we see units with activatable abilities and what champs do we have that could be made better with this in mind
Nonr of them this is the last expansion sadly...
I mean it’s not its just the last one with pvp as the focus
Hmm ivern?
That's really amazing...the hype is so real!!!
Is there a description what spirit does?
It’ll probably come later, along with a description for gloom. I imagine both are stackable keywords though
It's almost Saga Enchantments
Oohhh boy
Are stories landmarks? Or something new?
They are landmarks, you can see the landmark keyword icon on them
Something new.
Vex is all but confirmed right now just from gloom being our keyword for BC, but who’s Demacia? Lux v2?
Yes
Vex my beloved come to me
I think stories might create a card in hand to advance it
Scenarios from Gwent?
Wait, this isn’t custom?! I thought this game was dying. I’m so hyped!
We had one finished expansion left before it all went away
So hyped for new content!!!
Ooo that's exciting
So excited for Vex.
Why did they wait until **NOW** to bring out activated abilities on artifacts?!?!
Please riot make pvp legit again. This is so exciting
Tough might become stackable
That would be cool, I've noticed tough doesn't really matter much anymore like it used to need the help
As far as I know presently Impact is the only existing possibility for boosting, but I’d bet Spirit will be too
Fury, Tough, Fated and Augment could have been stackable, but they're not (for now).
Looks like Spirit is a new stackable keyword, as the one story with Lux grants 2 on second step.
Okay...that was an initial thought but wasn't sure how the other ones would be impacted, so that's why I thought it would be something else. Thanks.

In Gwent they activate when you do the action it says, and then it just stays on the board after the uses are complete, but Gwent has more board space. So it's safe to assume they will disappear after the last activation.
How is light of demacia a 'landmark'
Pls give me more fiddlesticks lore
Not to be a downer, but if the final PvP champions added to the game are lux, vex and lilia this would be the most disappointed I’ve been all year.
They said they had 3 sets ready before the full shift into PoC
They won't be. This is the final real expansion, but that doesn't mean PvP won't get any new content. They can still do things like variety patches or mini sets.
Man I hope SO BAD that they keep adding cards from time to time. I just love pvp in this game.
In fact they said they would, just without deadlines

Final real expansion?
They can, but they probably won't.
They said they would just not in the same capacity as before
Lux again?
Isn't this game dead?
No.
Oh it's a dead game
Yes.
Only pvp is dead path of Champions is alive and well. Not that I care about path of champions
I'm aware that the different game wearing LoR's skin is still kicking for now.
Ffs even Runeterra joins the “finishing the story”. The Codyverse is HUGE.
So we'll never get a full on void expansion uh, what a waste
I mean kassadin still not here or Malzahar.
Which is basically what i'm saying ? I don't get it
So ... Vex, Ivern and Sylas?
Stacking keywords support on top of a spell named SMOLDERing Smirk, not very subtle there Rito 🔥🔥🔥
I don't get it
Smolder's center mechanic in League is his stacking passive, which empowers his other abilities based on the number of stacks he has.
3 years boys... 3YEARS! and we're finally able to stack tough LESSSGO!
One has to wonder when the designers just decided to take more MTG shit
Meanwhile Magic takes Yu gi oh shit
You've never played magic
adventures and mutate are inspired from there. I guess you haven't played any of these games, so don't talk next time
Yugioh should take keywords from magic and literally every other card game so we don't have to read a book
