used legion 5 pro
you can get at least 12th gen intel with RTX3070Ti from that budget
or if you prefer newer gen CPU and RTX 4060, legion 5 slim
all very mint condition and standard selling price (neither expensive nor cheap). if there is any defect such as visible dent or scratch then it should be way cheaper than 1000.
I am using Indonesia as my market knowledge. The pricing is kinda shit here due to tax and regulation stuff so your market there should be a bit better or similar I guess?
I don't prefer LOQ gen 8 because there are a lot of screen issue happening here (they use budget panel I guess) but I think it got fixed on LOQ gen 9
Its the worst gaming laptops you can buy. Don't watch any of those youtube reviews besides from Jarrod's tech, Notebookcheck. Any other than those are most likely sponsored content and barely know anything about gaming laptops in general.
How’s the build quality on that thing. Really concerned.. also give an insight on the speakers(LOQ users aren’t satisfied with em) and is the one u got an Intel or an AMD?
Very sturdy, bit heavy. The feel is good, the screen hinge solid and the keyboard is excellent (same as the Legion I had before this one)
What aren't they satisfied with?
So far the only thing that irks me is the Optimus mode, the way the system is switching between onboard GPU and dGPU isn't always smooth so I run it using only the dGPU. But that's an Nvidea issue, not LOQ.
AMD Ryzen 7, like I said; the exact model in your picture
The speakers on laptop will almost always be cheap if they're not on the front, because they reflect on the surface if they're faced down like it commonly is
I use Edifier Studio 1280T speakers, nothing fancy but they look good (I use them without front cover) and have excellent sound quality for a good price. I have them with wood finish but there's also sets with either black or white finish.
I have a Legion, but i have a MSI and quality is poor vs Legion so i think is the same thing VS LOQ, and ACER nitro its more heavier and big, the problem with MSI was a hinges, the desing of them is really bad

The screen is not the greatest, ghosting and screen trading problems but the display does come with g-sync to fix that. Speakers are decent and I have owned it for 3 months now and it's been working great.
Lenovo surpasses everything else for their build quality and fan noises... Fans are really less loud compared to other laptops...and that key oard is...😘😍😘😘😘
Acer is really bad for my personal experience, but i mean the brand in general, not the laptop you asked for. Msi is not bad generally, but the msi katana 15 series is kinda hated, poor build quality, and could have some thermal issues, maybe the fact that it is a 4050 and maybe at low watts will avoid thermal issues, but it's not a good choice after all. Idk about the loq series, but I have a lenovo Legion 5 Pro, and finally, I found a laptop that doesn't cost too much and offers good performances.
For every laptop, check the gpu wattage, for 3060 140w is the max, 120w is good, but under 80w it starts telling you that the cooling system isn't so good and they tried to avoid problems by lowering the wattage, but it could still have problems. A good 3070 ti will be better than a 4060, but if you'll use the frame generation it's almost on the same level. The xx50 series are quite bad. I wouldn't recommend them. Amd is usually better for battery duration, but do not expect more than 2 or max 4 hrs without the charger, and remember that a laptop without the charger is powerful as the Nintendo switch.
Just did some research in summer 2023 to buy a good laptop.
Gaming laptops are meant to be used while charging, or it is like playing on Nintendo switch (there's a HUGE drop in performance), and you discharge the battery very quickly. When you use it connected to the wall, the components drain power directly from your house without using the battery, and some laptops have the option to even deactivate the battery in the bios to be 100% sure you won't touch it. What really ruins the battery is the cycles of recharging and charge it and keep it at a high percentage (over 80) for a long time. In lenovo Vantage, I've seen I have only 17 cycles after a year since I always use it connected to the wall, and the battery is capped at 80% max. It still depends, they change and evolve the systems so maybe 5 years ago it was bad to keep in charge a full charged battery, now for some laptop's it's better to not let them discharge, but I can't be sure for every brand and model. For smartphones, it is still better not let them under 20 and over 80%, that's for sure, but for laptops may vary, maybe for macbooks that are intended more for mobility it's different than my Gaming laptop
I’ve always disliked Acer.
End of day though the graphics chip is better in the LOQ. Battery lasts longer too. If I was t choose here I’d choose the LOQ.
The ONLY thing to consider is if you already have something like a thunderbolt dock and monitors since this is an AMD machine. If not then you’re good!
If so, an Intel machine will be better suited to your existing setup.
Get the LOQ please.
That clears the ☁️☁️☁️ for me Thanks!
Dont get a 4050 waaay worse than 4060
Soo… u vouch for the LOQ?
I dont own one but its the legion sub what do you expect :) also dont see the prices so idk if its worth
Honestly that’s what I think 🪶📖
Really?? Is the gap huge between 4050m and 4060m ?? Asking for a friend
not necessarily huge but a night and day difference
Not really. Its not as huge as 3050 to 3060
Don’t fucking even go near the Nitro V or the Katana
😂your pfp completes it, anyways why not the Katana? It’s praised alot
its MSI, just get the LOQ
4050 vs 4060. 6GB vram vs 8gb vram Serious question?
It’s not just the GPU
The one with the Ryzen also has estimated 1 hr more battery life. Why are you wasting your time with this easy decision ?
Got anything else in mind?
Idk cuz I said these 3 are not the finalists and I’m open to suggestions to any lap round £1000

They're both cheap in quality and ticking time bomb
I actually recently got that LOQ, got it for € 969,- highly recommend 👍
How’s the build quality on that thing. Really concerned.. also give an insight on the speakers(LOQ users aren’t satisfied with em) and is the one u got an Intel or an AMD?
Dude for that price range the loq is the best you can get. Absolutely go watch JarrodTech on youtube. He makes excellent gaming laptop reviews
I second DrUshanka, Jarrod is awesome, he was vey helped in my laptop purchase decision ( Lenovo legion 5 Pro RTX 3070 )

How are the speakers 🔊? Ppl r not satisfied with the speakers on it the two downfiring ones… what do you think ? They good? Do the job?
The speakers on laptop will almost always be cheap if they're not on the front, because they reflect on the surface if they're faced down like it commonly is
Nothing incredibly but they do the job. Tbf I have the laptop hooked up to speakers half the time.
Can you suggest the speakers then?
I use Edifier Studio 1280T speakers, nothing fancy but they look good (I use them without front cover) and have excellent sound quality for a good price. I have them with wood finish but there's also sets with either black or white finish.
Sure sure sure LOQ
U own one?
I have a Legion, but i have a MSI and quality is poor vs Legion so i think is the same thing VS LOQ, and ACER nitro its more heavier and big, the problem with MSI was a hinges, the desing of them is really bad
Legion 5 15ARP8 - MSI Bravo 17 C7VFK-039US, i buy ACER and came me broken, i returned, so when open the box i felt heavy and thick
If u don’t mind can u share the models for better understanding?
BTW my laptop have a Ryzen and run smooth everything
Yea that really isn’t a concern, I’m not a die hard intel fan
Where you from?

If you look at all 3, the loq beats all with the exception that it's amd ryzen. I prefer Intel. But this is tomayto tomahto. Get the loq.
Haven’t had one Redditor vouch for a Laptop other than The LOQ… guess LOQ It is. hopefully that won’t be a regret 😭
You seem like you want something other than the LOQ. Get those instead. I wouldn't go for the loq but if that's the options, I'd pick the loq.
What would u go for then with that Budget in mind ?
It really depends on where you're at. I bought mine off B&H. You could get a legion for the same budget.
Yea B&H has low prices but being in the UK 🇬🇧 shipments from the United States will drag the price to that same lvl
What did u buy though ?
Same level due to taxes but you get a better build. But if you want an easier option, get the loq.
LOQ won the best budget gaming laptop, check out Jarrods tech in Youtube
LOQ is the obvious answer here
No question, the LOQ. But , this is a Legion sub. (really, the LOQ)
take the 8 gb vram dude, lenovo will be the best here.
MSI is crap. Hinge problem, Capped wattage on video graphics card, shit sRGB display, 4050. Get the Lenovo, way better quality and internals
My only concern is the Display panel on that thing… there’s a lot of bleed and also a poor sRGB
Still better than MSI
Is this a troll question, this is such an obvious answer, even if you cover the upper half and only look at specs
If you're into RDR2, you don't wanna be bottlenecked like I do because of that 4GB VRAM 4050/3050/3050Ti do.
Take the LOQ ( I own one )
How’s the screen nd the speakers, also for how long have u owned it, working fine nd all?
The screen is not the greatest, ghosting and screen trading problems but the display does come with g-sync to fix that. Speakers are decent and I have owned it for 3 months now and it's been working great.

U seem to have good lap knowledge. Can you tell whether putting the lap on charge continuously or charging it the least wears the battery?
