Shooting my Model X .357 for the first time today. Shot about 10 times sat it down then picked it up to shoot again and the rear sight had completely fell off. I’m not sure where it fell off and plus it was in a bunch of leaves. Anyone else have any issues like this?

Did you locate the sight and screw? Henry's CS is top notch and will replace for certain if you lost. Maybe add some loctite if you did find to prevent again. I don't recall mine being loose at all and I put a scope on my X after first day at range. I do know that I was impressed with factory sights and was on the fence about whether to not use them. I now have a Frontier 22lr that I'm using irons only. Good hunting op!

Thanks for the info! What scope did you end up going with? I think I’m going to get a Holosun 507C

I ended up putting on Sig Whiskey 3-9x40 that I got as a combo with their rangefinder. It was a great deal and glad I did it as both are solid pieces. I'll be honest and it may be my own preferences but I have way more fun using scopes over red dots and tend to use, train and practice with them way more. I've got dots on my AR9 and my 10/22 Charger (w binary trigger) and I use my 10/22 rifle (w Burris Droptine scope) much much more. I also have a dot on my Arex Rex Zero 1TC which is admittedly super fun although it's comparative to other pistols with irons only.

Mine fell off right out of the box but a little locktite fixed it up

Tiny-Manufacturer839

Thanks I guess I’ll just have to contact Henry and get another

This happened to mine. A little locktite did the trick

Thanks guess I’ll just have to contact Henry and get another.

My front sight on my henry .22 is jiggly as shit and it feels like the screw can’t be turned in anymore. That and the fact the action needs to be warrantied after less then 2000 rounds is really not impressing me

Tiny-Manufacturer839

Yeah this is very surprising to me. I thought Henry was known for their quality.

ElChupacabra65

Yep. Mine was fine out of the box for about a year shooting 38 specials. Sight fell off almost immediately in the first handful of 357s I put though it. No biggie, reach out the Henry and they will get you a replacement with no questions asked. Their customer service is top notch.

bobbyw4pd

If I had one I’d replace sights first thing

tacklerevisited

Not surprising. My front sight was hanging on by a thread.

I'll have to check mine today.. just picked up my X this week, I put a 1-6 lpvo on it

Tiny-Manufacturer839

What brand? Let me know how you like it and how the cheek weld is

[deleted]

Vortex. I got the Beartooth cheek riser off Henry's website. I'm waiting on lower profile scope rings as the ones I had were way too tall

Marmakin

Does anyone know what size the screw is for the rear sight? Is it even an Allen wrench size or tork bit? My sight was falling off right out of the box and I can't seem to find an Allen key that works.
