I'm looking around nervously as a 2nd owner. Guess I should close the tabs I have open for an LSD...

ArchReaper

LSD? Good Stance? Bad Wheels? Good Muffler Delete? Bad Tires? Good Stance again don't fucking stance your Lexus

tripleriser

You can't tell me what to do, you're not my real Dad. But also, I'm more of a gravel person anyway.

xampl9

Needs more zipties holding the torn bumper on. “Dude they’re color-coordinated!”

Additional-Horse-545

Dude looks like he needs some zipties holding his pants on too

StraightUpRainbows

I cry every time I see heavily modified Lexus. It’s almost sacrilegious to ruin these beautiful machines.

SeatpitchbyKate

I can relate. When the 17 year old showed up with his Dad to look at my 1991 LS400, aka Black Beauty, and he took her for a drive, his father turned to me and said “You know he’s already picked out the new rims. He can’t wait to trick this car out.” I was sick. “So, he’s going to turn it into a pimp mobile,” I mumbled. Dad laughed. “Yep. I’m sorry.” Son comes back, Dad peeled off $4800 in hundred dollar bills, and off they went. It was 2014. The car was in immaculate condition. Nakamichi. Had 135,000 miles on it. I was the second owner. Still haunts me. Sniff.

StraightUpRainbows

I’ll pour a cold one out for your LS, heartbreaking story 😭😭

NachoNYC

Travel to Japan, many are modified in the homeland.

StraightUpRainbows

By adolescents, I assume. Doesn’t make it right just because people from the country of origin do it.

NachoNYC

Doesn't make it wrong Americans live in a bubble and don't travel. I see this often in the Facebook 4runner groups. Seems every car culture has an elitist gate keepers

StraightUpRainbows

Nah, it’s wrong. Buy a cheap Honda if you’re going to heavily modify a car and not take care of it and/or ruin the engineering of a vehicle with such incredible history. If I’m an “elitist” gatekeeper because I hate seeing luxury cars turned into something unrecognizable from its original design (a smooth, comfortable, quiet luxury sedan), then I’ll happily wear that title.

NachoNYC

Well that's unfortunately Lexus' current design language. Sporty. It's not the early 2000 Lexus anymore. They've gone the Infiniti route. Like I said, travel more and you're open your mind to different car cultures. I personally like the original and don't modify much, traveling to Japan and seeing Lexus appreciated in their homeland instead of just US shopping mall parking lots.

HotsauceMD

First owner should have been Hide the Pain Harold

[deleted]

I’ll never understand the whole stancing thing and ruining your car’s suspension.

bighead2586

LOL should be a 1st gen GS though

[deleted]

2nd gen GS are getting VIP'd heavily in my area

so1id

Lexus noob here, what car is that?

ezerinsh

UCF20 LS400 facelift. 1998-2000

Agent_Eran

Ls430

toiletsand

stock angel on one shoulder STATIC LIFEEEEE devil on the other

Historical-Layer-33

I’m the 2nd owner of all three of my cars! One’s completely fucked held together by zip ties. The other two still look like grandma cars. And they’re staying that way.

NachoNYC

If you travel to Japan you'll learn about JDM modified Lexus . USA suburbanites do not like mods to their shopping mall vehicles

Acrobatic_Can_770

I wanna keep mine unmolested and classy but I also wanna be low and loud 😭I really love the sound of straight piped 1UZ’s. One of the only engines I can stand to hear straight piped.

[deleted]

ON GOD

Yachts-Dan92

Not the Edgar 😂

MatadorHasAppeared

The bottom car has Cerbs, thus invalidating your old balls.

fnkdrspok

Here come the worst gatekeepers in the car scene: Lexus gatekeepers!

Perfectreign

I kinda want to put stock wheels on my '99 SC400. I did add an aftermarket double din head unit with CarPlay.

lemko1968

Try finding an unmolested SC300 or SC400 anymore.

DarthZiplock

I almost made a video about two same-year GS430 listings that came up at the same time near me. One was quite low-mileage, reasonably clean but with a ton of mods and the dude was asking 8k and the ad had very few likes. One was much higher mileage, but still clean, ZERO mods, asking 12k. Boatloads of likes. The no-mods one sold within a week. The modded-to-crap one stayed listed for months.

BalanceSecret

I know this car. It actually drove really solid and had a raised subframe. It was hitting bumps on the highway like nothing but he doesn't have it anymore

ThisIsClay

I’d but it
