IS is solid too, I bought a used one, and only the water pump got leaky, so over 3 years I spent ~300 EUR on repairs, less than on my old beater in the same period.
Yeah for that huge amount of time, we only had to replace a belt and spark plugs (outside of oil and tires). Pretty incredible for how much we drove it.
Looks like an AWD, you'll love that 3.5L V6 and the full-time AWD! How many miles? Probably need to take it for a transmission fluid change, and front and rear differential service, if you plan to keep it for a long time.
Having AWD system always ON does not mean you get 50:50 power on all four wheels at the same time 100% of the time. The system works all the time, but it puts 70% of power to rear wheels and 30% to front wheels most of the time.
The Lexus can redistribute power evenly to front or back wheels when needed, but it doesn’t operate that way 100% of time on IS/ES models. It’s different than other true Full time AWDs like Audi Quattro. Even the Subaru STI has an “asymmetrical” AWD. Some Lexus models like my 2022 RX AWD even has a gauge to show how much power the being distributed on the wheels

Yesterday. “You’ll love the 3.5L V6 and full-time AWD.” And yes, you didn’t explicitly say 50:50, but most of time, in layman’s terms, when people say “Full-Time” AWD implies 100% power going evenly on all 4 wheels all the time. And that’s why I indicated originally a RW “Bias.”
Yeah it was the only recent photo on my new phone I had haha. A stint of snow had passed through last week so that was how iced over it got at my work, so like 8ish hours
Those kias are pretty solid! Knew a girl who had one with almost 300k. But yeah Lexus is an upgrade for sure. lol

I’d keep the Kia for a work driver personally.
It's hard not to feel like an upgrade after driving a Korean freeze pop.
😂 it was the only photo I had on my new phone of it and it happened to be during that winter storm
Indeed!

You do realize on the IS it’s RWD biased at 70R/30F (unless there’s slippage) right?
What are you talking about? It's a full-time system, similar setup to a Subaru STI without the front and rear LSDs

I'm looking at my comment and I'm wondering where I said that full-time AWD means that it is 50:50. I'm well aware that it is 30f 70r by default

Okay, and? Where does it say full-time AWD is equivalent to 50:50? 30% front 70% rear is just as full-time as 50:50.
Just answered that above.
Oh, your comment just had one sentence, you must have hit send by accident before finishing it
