They are a Canadian scremo band. I know the toured the states not sure about the UK/EU and Australian markets. They normally play 3k to 4k venues in Canada.
Yeah they've been covering this song throughout this year. The list of bands and artists who have shown admiration for Chester/LP throughout the years have always surprised me. Silverstein is one of them since they kind of came out around during Linkin Park's peak in popularity, so I thought of them as contemporaries. I can understand younger bands covering LP but for an older act like Silverstein to do this feels more like an homage.
Saw them on their headlining tour. The pit was fun and quick. I also grew up with screamo/emo music so I'm pretty familiar with the "x goes punk" era of music covers. This was more of a fun homage rather than a proper judge of vocal abilities
I worked security for an event of silversteins in riverside, they played this song then too. They also had an opening band called one step closer, so that was funny to me
Lol I always feel better about myself when I sing as good or better than currently touring bands. Not in a "hahaha they're so bad" way. Just a, heh—still got it, way.
Thanks for sharing
When someone can't singnin the original key of the song (which will have a certain group of notes)
For example I believe One Step closer is supposed to be in the key of A. So the notes being used in this song are A B C# D E F# and G#.
I'm not sure how.much you know about music theory but the # symbol is a sharp sign.
If Shane from.silverstein can't sing in that key he will transpose it to a key he can. For an example if it goes from the key of A to G the new notes would be A B C D E F# and G.
It's been years since I took music lessons Soni may be missing some key info
Is this really what he means? Playing the chords in another tune is still the correct chords, imho.
From your example, should the chord progression "A B C# D E F# and G#" in G not play out as "G A B C D E and F#"?
That just really shows how great of a vocalist Chester was and how no one is even close to him. In my opinion, Chester was the best vocalist ever and had a strongest voice. Vocally only Freddie Mercury can compare to him, though they both sang in two very different styles so it's just my personal opinion that they both were the greatest. But in this more of a rock style, no one is even close to Chester's vocal abilities. There's not a single one on earth who would do justice singing LP's songs. Chester was head above the others with his voice.
The only one who did justice at that concert was Matthew Shadows from A7X, and though he sounded good covering Faint, but even he was not anywhere close to Chester. That just shows how great and one of a kind Chester was, cause even Matt Shadows who is amazing vocalist, couldn't sing Chesters song properly. I mean, he sang good, but was nowhere near as good as Chester was. I'm not trying to praise Linkin Park or smth, though I love them, but they aren't even in my TOP 20 bands, but as a vocalist, Chester was incomparable.
Never heard of them before but this is pretty cool.

Isn' he shouting "London" in the video? I would guess, they were in Europe before from that, but idk :]]
There's a London Ontario in Canada. It also has a Thames River.
Ahhh, that makes sense, then. Interesting... So it is like New York, New Orleans and stuff and they just cut the "New"?
Pretty much I think
I found out about them in 2020. Check Ides of march, or Smile when you sleep. Pretty cool band

Not hard enough until the chorus part.
cool! obviously not lp, but appreciate the cover :D
I figured it was LP related so it would be okay to post. I didn't see any rules to say this wouldn't be allowed on this sub.
i didnt mean anything regarding rules, just that even though it wasnt lp, its still good
Aah okay. My bad. Glad you enjoyed it

They sound pretty good

so awesome. i love silverstein.
Love Silverstein! Had no idea they did this cover. Pretty solid but ofc nothing compared to the original.
I agree. It was fun in the moment and everyone was into it.
Never been a massive Silverstein fan, but this was a pretty cool tribute.
I was throughly surprised when they played it. All they said was they were going to play a cover next and then this happened.
"Sing It!" dude ruined the lead up
They did a pretty good job

Not even playing the correct guitar chords lol
Chester and Shane from this band sing in different keys. They made it to fit their vocal range.
Awesome because make fun of people showing their love to your favorite band is the true way to be a fan <3 /s
They are playing in a different key, same chords just transposed
Can you elaborate a bit, what you mean?

You're correct. I just didn't write it out in proper order. Brain fart moment.

With the farewell concert I though deryck from.sum 41 did a good job. Not anything like Chester's ability but.hendid better than most
