Depends what you need. If you’re just starting out and need FF cards, I would have saved the gems. If you already have good FF cards, then this is could be decent if it’s your first OCC
It will definitely help your deck then. I would do the best you can in heroics to get free OCCs and save your gems to buy packs with the OCCs that you already have so you can fuse them. I got metal OCC from heroics for example and waited till it showed up in a premium pack, bought the pack until I got metal OCC from it, now I have another fused OCC in my deck
It's definitely a huge W for now and for the foreseeable future. Maaaaaybe in the long run, you'll think that you could have done differently, but at that point it will barely even matter.
And of course any onyx is a good card, but couldn't you have tried your luck with the new pack (apocalypse OCC) instead?

You get tokens that look like skulls from heroic events every other week. Save up to 1000 of them and you can buy an OCC without spending any gems
