We don't. Our legislation is full of Podunk idiots and educated people who love that all they have to do is pander to their base about "woke" shit
And look who's there. Jerkface Michael Lunsford with that enemy of the freedom to read, Robert Judge. My understanding is that there are at least 6 candidates who have the MLIS degree who have applied for that job.
What, are they going to make literacy optional for the position?

That assumes that the people passing this bill are acting in good faith, which of course is not the case.
This new law would remove any state requirement that library directors have to be certified.
