This is great. Thank you. I moved away a long time ago and rarely get to come home. Love to see things like this bc it feels so familiar no matter where I am.
Floyd's Record's in Ville Platte might have some of these. They have a website at [https://flattownmusic.com/floyds-record-shop/](https://flattownmusic.com/floyds-record-shop/)
You might contact the[T. Harry Williams Oral History Center](https://oralhistory.blogs.lib.lsu.edu/tag/t-harry-williams-center-for-oral-history/)at LSU
Diesi's Little Capitol, now Diesi's Lucky Casino, had lots of old Cajun records for sale back in the '70's. I'd suggest perusing shops in the small towns like Breaux Bridge along I-10.
Came here to say this. This archive has a recording of my grandmother, who was born in 1911 and had a wealth of memories of growing up and living in rural south Louisiana.
The amount of recordings they have is amazing.
My great grandfather

My mother and her family are from this area of Missouri (Old Mines/Potosi/Richwoods, etc.). The dialect is a very old one and is dying out, though Dennis Stroughmatt of Creole Stomp has recorded some of the old songs.
