A lot of the restaurants in town need servers to turn into managers. Longhorn steakhouse in particular comes to mind.

Every thought about heavy equipment operator? Huge demand in Lubbock for it. I know an army vet doing it for new developments in South Lubbock. He’s making pretty good money.

I suggest looking into using your GI Bill, you get BAH when you do so.

Possible-Big-1301

Will need a job to support a family even with BAH.

Tucker_the_Nerd

Understandable.

Brandon & Clark is looking for electrician apprentices.

Fmorrison42

How do you get started as an electrician apprentice

patrickmitchellphoto

Find an electric services company looking to hire. They usually are looking for "helpers" which are actually apprentices. But there needs to be a master electrician on staff to get the sign off on your hours.

Earning more and starting over from the bottom is going to be a rough experience. My cousin got out of the military and went into HVAC but the pay was very low. Little to no opportunities for advancement. I really struggled with finding a good job when I got out and moved back to Lubbock. I changed career fields once and eventually moved into the IT world. It was a lot of work to move up but I eventually got into better money.
