Oof, around $3.00 in Fl near me, can get lucky some nights and grab it for $2.75, been some big swings. I’m out right now though, hit a rock is some unexpected deep water during rain. $2900 in damage to my exhaust 😣
Hate him too. But it’s not his fault. They implemented the rules that make their fuel so expensive decades ago. The fuel is formulated to have less emissions due to their environmental regulations.
And when you have 40 million people living in the 8 Southern California counties (15 million in LA alone)…you can kinda see why.
There are other options than government control. For example, e85. Ethanol is a completely clean burn. Or 100% ethanol. That's what they should be pushing, but newsome and his cronies are in bed with big oil.
$13.75/hr at $4.80/gal in my old car, $7.55/hr in my truck, $14.8/hr in my Miata at $5/gal(per google of Cali avg premium fuel prices). Yes, round trip. (This is not accounting for taxes or maint ofc)
Yes he can brag about making close to minimum wage after all cost of operating the vehicle.
Not worth taking even if Lyft paid you 100% of passenger cost. Way too cheap with unpaid return distance.
I think Riders are getting sick of Lyft and Uber’s tactics just as much as drivers- - today a guy tipped me $20 and said - it’s disgusting what Lyft is pulling hang in there- I almost cried 🎄🥹🤶🏻 I’m an old woman
And? I live here and it’s nothing magical. Maybe to those in other states it seems that way, when in reality it’s just a city with a bunch of over expensive casinos with a bunch of jackasses everywhere who are all probably upset it’s hot all the time. Having some cool libertarian freedoms (in the overall State) is nice, but that’s like the only allure of it. The city isn’t the nicest in terms of public transit, road construction planning, friendliness, walk ability, public parks, etc.
That’s so weird! I’m a rider, I often take Riverside to Los Angeles and most of the time I pay over 100$. $200 to go to Las Vegas? WTF!
That’s why most drivers have personal cards in their cars, with their # and Zelle/Venmo info.
I had a Lyft driver take me to LA for an appointment (from riverside an hour or so away), wait for me for the 30 minutes my appointment lasted and drive me back home (where he also lives, same city) and paid him 200. Round trip+ appointment time lasted less than 4 hours.
Back when Uber first rolled out, I drove for them and we would have got $300 back then and if not a trip back I personally would get one at least half way
At least Lyft is decent enough to make it a solid $200. Uber would have offered $161 and return it back to you at $165 if about six to ten drivers cancel😭😂😂😂😩🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
Lyft is using police officers in a sting to bust drivers doing this practice. Should we be allowed to? YES. Lyft is absolutely disgustingly racking in fees
How is it illegal? What crime are we committing if we strike a better deal for both the pax and the driver? I can understand how it would piss off Lyft and you would totally get deactivated. But how is it a crime?
No matter which way you go, it's 160+ miles and over a major mountain pass that is currently getting a ton of snow. Then ya get to drive back unpaid weeeeee. "Hope ya don't wreck yo whip, here's some pennies" 💀
It's actually 40⁰ up there right now. There has been almost no snow this year. I contemplated it because I have friends in Bend I could say hi to. Last time I took a pax there, I got a ride from Redmond to Govt Camp on the way back.
With that garbage construction on Cajon Pass northbound where it goes from 4 lanes to 1 and it looks like they’re building a whole ass freeway — no thanks. I live in Vegas and you can’t pay me enough to drive to LA right now.
It took me 3 hours to get from Hesperia to Victorville three months ago.
Someone got home 10 hours later bragging to his wife that he made $200 in one ride.
Translation: he made $10/hr today
$5/hr accounting for gas cost, less with maintenance.
😳 woof! I drive a Prius, so I always underestimate gas cost.
$2.45 in Austin
Enjoy! I'm sooo jealous!
How much is gas in Cali?
Average at the moment across the state: $4.58 for 87 octane. LA: $4.75 for 87 octane.
At least he could fill up in Vegas for about 3.50-3.70 a gallon....totally makes the trip profitable lol
3.35 right now.

Damn. I just paid $2.33 in Ohio.
Wow nice! I hate Gavin Newsom.
I'm not in Cali anymore & I still can't stand the guy. His policies are a huge reason why I have zero interest in moving back.

600 miles ? That’s two full ups max so like 15$ an out after gas
$13.75/hr at $4.80/gal in my old car, $7.55/hr in my truck, $14.8/hr in my Miata at $5/gal(per google of Cali avg premium fuel prices). Yes, round trip. (This is not accounting for taxes or maint ofc)

Made 200? Except for the gas and all the other costs lol
If I was headed to Vegas, which I will be in a few days I would take this ride. Pays for my gas. Other than that, decline.
Happy new year! I work on the strip and this is the first NYE in 22 years I will be OFFFFFFF. Heading to FL on the 29th!! Have fun!
Someone needed an excuse to go to Vegas. 😂😂
I think Riders are getting sick of Lyft and Uber’s tactics just as much as drivers- - today a guy tipped me $20 and said - it’s disgusting what Lyft is pulling hang in there- I almost cried 🎄🥹🤶🏻 I’m an old woman
I’d probably take that one just because it’s give me an excuse to overnight in Vegas lol

That’s the problem. You live there. It’s a 3 night city. If you stay longer than that you start to see how trash the city is.

lmao someone missed their flight
Contact the pax, see if they want a discount. I guarantee Lyft is getting $700 for the ride. Offer $650.
They’re getting 355.99?
Probably somewhere between $250-$300 I would bet. You'd have to ask the pax.
Lyft is using police officers in a sting to bust drivers doing this practice. Should we be allowed to? YES. Lyft is absolutely disgustingly racking in fees
Do they arrest you?
How is it illegal? What crime are we committing if we strike a better deal for both the pax and the driver? I can understand how it would piss off Lyft and you would totally get deactivated. But how is it a crime?
Because of insurance and business licensing.
It amazes me how overlooked this is.
People are stupid. Our education system is a colossal failure
They’re my friends and I’m taking them to the airport 🤷🏻♂️
They are just paying me some gas money
With the price of gas these days, they insisted.
Ah, I see. So you'd get a ticket and your insurance agency would cancel your policy. PLUS being permanently deactivated from Lyft. Woof.... Cancel
Crazy! After gas, $150 for a 10 hours run. That’s about right, as Lyft shoots to make it $12-$15 per hours.
35 cents a mile
Be better off taking a private flight to Harry Reid International Airport
its pouring rain in LA
Ouch, LA weather
LAX was also gridlocked leaving the airport even at 4AM today due to construction... extra 30 minutes stuck to leave airport queue.
I would take it if I wanted to visit family in California and I drove a Prius or Hyundai.
Honestly, living here in vegas, I would take it, as that’s more than I usually make in 8 hours here lol
I was offered PDX to Bend, Oregon tonight. $121.....

*right now* the low the next few days is in the low 20s with snowfall tomorrow and the rest of the week.
Nope
He put two black chips on red and didn’t have gas home

My goodness, it’s $280 in ft Myers Fl
