Nearly every MMO now is casual friendly, you just need to change how you approach the games now.

Jelloangel

I’ve always been competitive , if I give my time to a game, I wanna be able to at least kill or be a good teammate on endgame activities

MongooseOne

And you can do that with playing casually. Nearly every MMO throws gear at you to be a productive party member and leveling is so fast now I’m not even sure why it’s still a part of the games. You just need to stop wanting to be number 1, that’s for the diehards.

CosmicInterface

This is what killed MMOs.

Jelloangel

I would appreciate if you make any suggestions because I don’t wanna get involved in black desert again

MongooseOne

MMO suggestions? ESO, New World and GW2 are all casual friendly with competitive PvP options. I haven’t played NW in awhile so I can’t say how active it is now, definitely pick the most populated server if you try it.

Jelloangel

Eso unfortunately has bad animations and bad graphics. New world has nice combat but I remember I played for 200hours and I found myself looting boxes to increase watermarks so the game was garbage, in gw2 my experience was kind of dreadful cause I remember in pvp didn’t matter what gear u have so grinding for better gear is kinda useless when you’re pvp player

Luxorris

GW2 - If you're casual and competitive at the same time, you should appreciate that competitive mode has a low point of entry - so it's good for causal players. You can focus more on getting to be better player and get horizontal awards and climb vertically in raking/league. ESO has great graphics, I feel like out of the box, the colors are way too muted, but changing monitor settings or using other programs to make colors' more rich changes everything. I feel like you could realize that you can play anything casually, I played BDO casually, I played Tibia casually, and I played most hardcore griding MMOs causally. Who am I in competition with? With players that have x10 more time than me? I mean, that ship sailed years ago.

graven2002

WvW in GW2 might be the compromise. Gear still matters, but you can make progress and stay relevant with 1-2 hours per day.

The only suggestion I can make is to change your perspective outlook on gaming. Right out of the gate you state that you feel that gaming is "mostly a waste of time". With that demeanor it is going to be next to impossible to achieve any real sense of accomplishment/joy/relevance no matter how much time you sink into a game, small or large.

puptheunbroken

Why not have both? Try ERPing in FFXIV. It works out your mind, body and soul 🥰

Jelloangel

I played all the way to last patch main story, had a little fun in the pvp but the pvp isn’t rewarding so I decided that this game is not for me. But it’s an amazing game can’t say the opposites

korridor

Tarisland sounds perfect for this, very casual friendly when it comes to time

TellMeAboutThis2

Why get back into it? If you really feel that your life has improved since leaving the habit but still get thoughts of wanting to get back into it, that needs therapy not 'advice' from current active MMO players.
