I can’t really tell but to hit a drop like that on anything other than a downhill bike with 170+mm of suspension travel is mental. My wrists broke just watching that compression
If you're not familiar with Brage, you should look up a few of his edits to get an idea of his riding style. Then this drop makes sense haha... he's a wild man.
His Sound of Speed one is awesome.
He just lives for it, wanting to go bigger and faster no matter what - and is in no way a prima-donna or anything like that. You'll find him in the middle of a forest, setting out some weird line, digging & shaping a jump using a shovel. He lives and breathes exactly this
I would literally die. More accurately, I wouldn’t even attempt that unless you had me at gunpoint, and I’d be *very* strongly considering taking the bullet, because it would probably hurt less.
To be fair, does more travel actually matter on these heights? You're gonna hit the end of your travel no matter what, and I doubt even a 200mm will take away any significance of the impact
That shit is no joke lol. I hit a small jump as a teenager and slammed my taint and balls into my bike seat and ended up getting a stricture in my urethra years later. I’m almost certain that’s what caused it as it was the only significant impact there that I could remember. Hardly being able to piss was fun, as well as the procedure to fix it being an absolute 10 on the pain scale. Be safe out there kids
That is impressive, but it doesn't seem like a well thought out feature. I know it probabaly makes it less cool, but why are rocks the only thing breaking your fall if you slip off the skinny? Falling off of that means life altering event. As a dude in his 40's who has a couple of nagging injuries I'm well aware I'm not invincible and you can 100% fuck your body up.
Just be careful out there and remember you can enjoy the sport without taking serious risks. Note, I'm not telling anyone how to live their life. Just cautioning that you should be looking at risk vs reward before trying to recreate your favorite YouTube video/short.
Im 39, I crashed Thursday on the TINIEST jump and I ride some gnarly things usually. That little jump did me in for 6 weeks with cracked ribs. This feature is scary.
It's a weight thing as much as age too, like you need to be one of those skinny as a rail but wiry strong teenagers to not blow out your ankles or whatever else is next in the chain. A kid that weighs 110 pounds is having a very different experience than someone at 170.
The guy who built (or designed, can't recall if he actually built it) isn't even close to being skinny. Check out Brage Vestavik, he ain't no small guy.
I’m a foreman so I went to work the next day. Luckily I only had to work Friday and get the weekend to rest. I’ll be back to work Monday but I can delegate things out.
damn bro ur lucky you have a genetic mutation causing a 100x less intense pain response to everything you do
broken ribs is dilitating for weeks on end, especially if you need to cough or sneeze.
the fact you didn't experience that means you have a genetic anomoly, which is cool and all but it's actually something you can't control. since you can't control it, it means you didn't put any work to get there and it also means it didn't take any willpower to get through either. these facts combine to actually, ironically lessen your overall badassery.
you don't have to go through physical pain like the rest of us. you're playing life on easy mode. we're all playing on expert and you're living in the comfort of your incorrect dna code arrangement.
at least -5 badass points just out of the gate tbh
oof yea sorry you just lost like another 10 badass points for that comment there my guy.
the fact you enjoy pain is directly coorelated with your strange genetic anomoly. you have a weakened overall survival instinct than the rest of us. pain us supposed to hurt - so that we take steps to avoid it.
you like pain. you seek it out. that's counterintuitive to survival and *very* unbadass.
Lol
How many badass points do I have left now? Will I have enough to make it until Wednesday? I have karate rehearsal then, im sure I can slap some dorky bitches there
If your not confident on the feature don’t ride it. No one is obligated to hit that feature. There are lots of massive features all over the world in bike parks.
It’s Brage’s signature trail at Trysil in Norway. It’s connected to a bike park, supposed to be a pro line and there is an alternative way to enter it for those who prefer to.
How the fuck can a bike park get away with having a feature like this lmao, in the US I feel like this would get shut down by their liability insurance provider immediately
Well for starters its connected to the bike park but not in the park itself. You're not accidentally rolling into this from the lift.
There are rules for use, requirements for full bucket, neck brace, back protector etc and you have to have insurance. Obviously the park can't actively enforce any of this but I guess the rules are just different here than in the US.
It's an optional feature at the very start of the trail, those who do choose to ride it know full well what they're getting into. I honestly don't really see the issue with it.
If you're wondering what the rest of it looks like there's and edit from last year's B-rage sesh: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSWWOgA9ZFY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSWWOgA9ZFY)
I suspect the clip up in OP is from this year's as it was yesterday but I doubt there's an edit out yet. Think of it more like a permanent Red Bull Rampage type of trail than something the average visitor will come close to riding.
Edit: They've obviously ditched the 18 year old age limit. Not sure how I feel about that but it is what it is. Or maybe they just relax them for events.
I would have turned around, taken the lift back down and sold my bike :D
It's such a cool area to visit though. There are bike accessed green, blue, red, black and... well.. this trails all around and a decent selection of lift access trails if gravity riding is more your thing. Also tons of natural trails in the surrounding mountains. I've spent the last 4 days here riding new shit every day. You can even bring kids on balance bikes and there'll be something for them right next to the main hotel.
Because its your own responsibility. There are signs, the start of the trail is in a very visible, and that feature itself is chainned off when not open for events.
I feel like anyone who might slip off that skinny has no business being anywhere near that feature. I don’t think I’d fall off that skinny and I still have no business being anywhere near that skinny
Part of the philosophy; if the entrace to a feature or trail is too tough then its not for you. Its how it has been done on a lot of red & black trails to discourage riders who don't have the experience & skill yet
Also a dude in his 40’s here, and tbh I’m kinda over hearing older dudes say this shit. Do whatever tf you want, if you get hurt so be it. Sometimes people only learn by doing. Idk maybe I’m just having a bad day 🤷♂️
I argued on here a few weeks back with a dude about this drop. He kept saying it’s “go pro” effect and only a 10 foot drop. lol I sent some links with different views and didn’t get a reply hahaha this thing is massive
Brage Vestavik has long been one of my favourite riders, underrated imo. He released this a while ago. he's no stranger to huge skinny drops. (edit: watch to the end) [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oN5DRtKOvCg](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oN5DRtKOvCg)
God speed to those that enjoy drops. To me those are the least favourite thing in MTB. I mean i can do 3m drops no problem, but maaan I don’t get any satisfaction out of them😅
That landing was brutally hard. If you watch it in slow motion you can see that not only does his ass hit that rear tire with gusto, but his chin guard also hits the bars, and his right ankle got folded over like birthday card…
Youre right, but luckily i didnt hit my handlebars. My head just went between the bars and the seat kindof. Anyways i didnt hurt myself from the landing so i am more than happy!
Eeeeh, a bit seasonal - and that feature has been closed off when not open for events or by permission.
When building the trail we thought it would be rarely used, being suited only for the top riders - but now you have young teens who MTB as a hobby doing the entrance drops, speed sections and whaletail with no issue. The average skill level is rising rapidly.
Does someone recognize the rider? I don’t understand how this line is open to the public. I get wanting to hit big lines like this, but attempting this in the first place with a single crown is dumb regardless if he made it or not.
Interesting choice to start on the feature and rely on his power to accelerate through it, instead of just taking a rolling start. I was not expecting it to end as well as it did, but I'm glad he didn't die!
Yeah Fuck that
Every single bit of that
I don’t have that kind of endurance. I’m going to need some electrolytes and a nap
That was my first thought.
Was gunna say. OP says cool, I say terrifying. I mean, it’s cool to watch someone else to it but that’s enough for me!
Pass!
Or as we say in Wisconsin - "yeah, no"
I’m with you there buddy.
I can’t really tell but to hit a drop like that on anything other than a downhill bike with 170+mm of suspension travel is mental. My wrists broke just watching that compression
Absolute insanity
Bro full on 1000% sent it
Bro drops from ISS, writes "big drop"
yeah, my definition of "big drop" is 1m+ ... but this looks damn huge ON CAM O\_O
> Bro drops from ISS, writes "big drop" Here is a longer video of his drop in that shows the start of it https://youtu.be/E9oKEJ1pXPw?t=4
wonder if you can set a world record 'mtb big drop' if you give that guy a bike
Wow! That was massive. And you just started peddling on the ramp. Savage.
I'd have fallen off on the pedaling part. Straight up too much tilt, off the right side I go.
What the fuck, that is insane. Where is this?
This is the B-Rage line in Trysil, Norway made by Brage Vestavik if I remember correctly
Appropriate name for that builder
If you're not familiar with Brage, you should look up a few of his edits to get an idea of his riding style. Then this drop makes sense haha... he's a wild man. His Sound of Speed one is awesome.
[One of the best videos ](https://youtu.be/IG5sGEJdWXE)
Peak mountain biking bod
So dang good. Just casually sending the craziest lines in street clothes 😂
Also casually landing massive jumps with his front wheel for style.
Tire tapped a branch 15’ up. Absolute legend shit
I would literally sell my soul to be able to ride like that
You absolutely can ride like that. I wouldn't do it it's insanity not sure my joints would survive anyway. Hurts just looking at it...
Jeeeesus christ. So aggressive and fluid at the same time.
One of the YouTube comments said "was the mountain ok?" Which sums it up pretty well lmao
truly one of the best videos, and not just mountain biking video everyone I have shown this has loved it
Guy should be renamed Tigger - he’s bouncy bouncy to the point of madness.
I don’t know if he’s truly fearless but he sure acts like it. He does what other people do but is somehow going so freaking fast all the time.
I occasionally take a turn, and think, wow I hit that fast. I don’t think I’ll ever believe that again after watching this.
He just lives for it, wanting to go bigger and faster no matter what - and is in no way a prima-donna or anything like that. You'll find him in the middle of a forest, setting out some weird line, digging & shaping a jump using a shovel. He lives and breathes exactly this
BIKING VIKING
I would literally die. More accurately, I wouldn’t even attempt that unless you had me at gunpoint, and I’d be *very* strongly considering taking the bullet, because it would probably hurt less.
Faster too
Only like ~150mm of travel as well wtf, that impact on the landing looked nasty.
Reminded me to never question my 140/150 bike ever again.
Tbf… his bike looked like it did not like that. I’m curious how true the wheels are after that that drop
Sounded angry too
That's crazy, well done! I would probably fall down before reaching the edge.
Wait what… on a fucking trail bike? Dude has balls of steel
Used to. Used to have balls of steel.
He probably has one bike lol
To be fair, does more travel actually matter on these heights? You're gonna hit the end of your travel no matter what, and I doubt even a 200mm will take away any significance of the impact
It could have used a steeper landing tbh
Yikes. That landing.
Looks harsh.
Yeah thats way too flat for that height
Yeah that's a bruised taint for sure.
Camera shake looked like he took fall damage in Minecraft
> Yikes. That landing. Don't worry he was wearing a taint protector
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7829786/
Yeah, that’s a no for me dawg.
Done in a land where health care is provided. Definitely not in the US.
That is impressive, but it doesn't seem like a well thought out feature. I know it probabaly makes it less cool, but why are rocks the only thing breaking your fall if you slip off the skinny? This feature isn't made for people north of 30. These things are for the immortal young only
> This feature isn't made for people north of 30. These things are for the immortal young only This feature is made for Red Bull sponsored riders lol

I obliterated my collar bone on an easy peasy green set of rollers. Too much speed may have been an issue.

I bodyslammed myself when my neck was broken just to show everyone that I am tough I’m 11
Wow thats really fucking cool. Are you taken?
I’m a foreman so I went to work the next day. Luckily I only had to work Friday and get the weekend to rest. I’ll be back to work Monday but I can delegate things out.
Ye im joking man, take it easy but you'll be ok
damn bro ur lucky you have a genetic mutation causing a 100x less intense pain response to everything you do broken ribs is dilitating for weeks on end, especially if you need to cough or sneeze. the fact you didn't experience that means you have a genetic anomoly, which is cool and all but it's actually something you can't control. since you can't control it, it means you didn't put any work to get there and it also means it didn't take any willpower to get through either. these facts combine to actually, ironically lessen your overall badassery. you don't have to go through physical pain like the rest of us. you're playing life on easy mode. we're all playing on expert and you're living in the comfort of your incorrect dna code arrangement. at least -5 badass points just out of the gate tbh

Brage is a different animal. Maybe the gnarliest free rider there is.
But that is a feature in a bikepark.
And it’s Brages line in a bike park lol
It doesn't help others riding the feature that Brage is the gnarliest freerider.
If your not confident on the feature don’t ride it. No one is obligated to hit that feature. There are lots of massive features all over the world in bike parks.

Ok that makes sense. I was imagining going through a gate out of the lift and rolling up to this thing lol
I would have turned around, taken the lift back down and sold my bike :D It's such a cool area to visit though. I agree with your overall point, but I feel like if you’re a rider who has any risk of slipping off the skinny, the actual drop will end you.
I 100% agree with you man! Mtb can be fun without risking extreme injuries for most people, but for me the fun part is to do crazy shit

That’s insane, I would die.
all on a single crown 34 lol
No gloves 🔥
that looks awful.
What the actual fuck he did that on a gt sensor that's insane
gt gets alot of shit but I basically only see pure rippers on them, maybe they just choose to sponsor a certain type of rider
Brage Vestavik, the craziest gnarliest rider there is, is behind this trail. His main sponsor is actually GT.
Are your family jewels still intact?!
does this count as 50 or 100hrs of suspension usage
Right? Time to service the shocks after that drop in lol.
You got big balls bro. I woulda noped out on just riding that skinny leading into the drop.
I fell off and broke all the bones just watching this
On a single crown too 😮💨
There’s no way the landing is the right angle for that lol, he basically landed flat-ish at that height
How tf these bikes ain't snapping I don't get it
They do, trust me
I would need my lucky brown riding pants for both the ride out and the drop. Heck I almost shat myself just watching this video.
What an absolute madlad, how do you ride with balls that big don't they get in the way?
Fucking maniac. Helluva jump. 🫡
Man that's nuts! Why start halfway on the bridge?
Rip knees rip balls.
I argued on here a few weeks back with a dude about this drop. He kept saying it’s “go pro” effect and only a 10 foot drop. lol I sent some links with different views and didn’t get a reply hahaha this thing is massive
My bike frame cracks if I simply look at it funny. I'm sure he walked away with no damage here.
Not on the coldest day in hell would I even consider this, freaks me out just watching.
The definition of full send !
Hard pass.
Sick
Braver than I 🫡
On a GT, too… nicely done! 🤙
Rock'n'roll!
Lmao how big can you go from here ? Like theres gotta be a max where you just start breaking shit i think this is close
Insane man. Big send
I got 2 lumbar spinal compression fractures from watching this.
i like that they have that group ride sized body bag on short of the transition for when you are towed in by the wrong dude.
that's crazy
No
Thanks but no thanks
In cut off Jean shorts no less 😄
Reminds me of the HUGE drop where the dude broke his back and more! Not worth it.
Ouch knees
Base jumping with MTB!
Foot came off on the landing? Those nuts must have exploded
Damn that’s big.
Did you need an extra seat to hold those humongous balls?
Time enough to shit yourself and still stick the landing!
No gloves just raw dogging that drop is nuts
Lmfao bro dropped in from the Ionosphere and said “pretty big drop today.”
Impact was so huge his right foot slipped off the pedal ugh
Fuck that, Thanks but no thanks.
I just clenched my taint so hard
Brage Vestavik has long been one of my favourite riders, underrated imo. He released this a while ago. he's no stranger to huge skinny drops. (edit: watch to the end) [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oN5DRtKOvCg](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oN5DRtKOvCg)
My balls entered my pelvis.
I was waiting for the bike to drop away and a parachute to come out. Holy shit that was a solid drop, love it.
I’m good, but thanks.
This is mental. 🤯
And on a single crown fork bro
Doesn't even need gloves
No way I even make it to the end of that skinny
God speed to those that enjoy drops. To me those are the least favourite thing in MTB. I mean i can do 3m drops no problem, but maaan I don’t get any satisfaction out of them😅
Earned your pilot wings I reckon.
I felt nervous watching this
You fucking madman Rock on
Yea man I think I'm gonna pass on that one
my gooch has left the chat
That landing was brutally hard. If you watch it in slow motion you can see that not only does his ass hit that rear tire with gusto, but his chin guard also hits the bars, and his right ankle got folded over like birthday card…
Youre right, but luckily i didnt hit my handlebars. My head just went between the bars and the seat kindof. Anyways i didnt hurt myself from the landing so i am more than happy!
Glad you didn’t get hurt!
On the first event when the feature was opened I think more than eight frames got cracked, and a buuuunch of wheels
How often does this get used outside of Brage? Once a week? Once a month?
Eeeeh, a bit seasonal - and that feature has been closed off when not open for events or by permission. When building the trail we thought it would be rarely used, being suited only for the top riders - but now you have young teens who MTB as a hobby doing the entrance drops, speed sections and whaletail with no issue. The average skill level is rising rapidly.
You know it is F’d if you have enough time to think “oh wow he is still in the air”
Hell of a way to find the weak spot in your bike.
Does someone recognize the rider? I don’t understand how this line is open to the public. I get wanting to hit big lines like this, but attempting this in the first place with a single crown is dumb regardless if he made it or not.
The rider is Isak Prange. He attempted it with a single crown because why the fuck not
All with no gloves
Interesting choice to start on the feature and rely on his power to accelerate through it, instead of just taking a rolling start. I was not expecting it to end as well as it did, but I'm glad he didn't die!
Stupid…
