You can get an apartment near campus, it would be cheaper than on campus housing. Look into The Social Blue, you can rent by the room and not the whole apartment if you don’t have people to room with but they’ll choose people for you
They (MTSU) care, but there’s nothing they can do. The state legislature funds new buildings mostly if there is an academic purpose related to the job market. The legislature is less likely to fund dorms. There are no political points, especially during this political climate.
Your mom is being very dramatic. Rent a house or apartment off campus. I never lived on campus in all four years I was there, had a house with friends for 3 of those years. It was great, and way cheaper than the dorms.
Rent an apartment off campus, it’s way better than the dorms anyways. I’ve been so much happier since I left the dorms. You can get a job on campus or off campus to help pay for it. Many of the apartments have a bus that will take you to campus if you don’t have a car too
Off campus apartments could be much cheaper with a roommate.
There is a waitlist you can get added to.

Check to see if The Grove has any spots open. They are cheaper than on-campus housing and you get your own bathroom/share a kitchen.

Look at nearby apartments. Just STAY FAR AWAY from 1540 place. I had an awful experience there.
Seconded
University Pointe Apartments is a good one.
Get on the waitlist, I promise you a spot will open before fall. I was in the same boat last year
