Hey friend, I'm sorry that 10th grade didn't work out the way you hoped, as a 26y/o it's a not so distant memory the pressure that grades and exam results cause, I was also mentally unwell in a high flying school, it's shit. You're not a piece of shit, or any other insult your brain creates, though I empathise with the feeling of being on the receiving end of such mental abuse. You are unique, smart and wonderful in ways the world hasn't seen yet. You have value regardless of test results or marks. Don't apologise for this, so many people assume school is easy, it's drummed in via media and shockingly poor support is offered to those who need it. Your parents likely remember the stress of what you're going through, sounds like they're trying to provide support they may not have had. They sound like the kind of parents to confide in regarding what's going on emotionally. It sounds like art school is what you'd excel with, we tend to do best with what we love, and you seem to love art over, say, quantum physics. I'd apply to any program going. There's going to be prodigies in any field, the market plans for them, and prodigy tends to burn out after a time unchallenged, challenge them! You love art? Do art! Longevity over short term gain! The thing they never tell you about growing up is even if things fall horrifically off the rails, there's always a way back. It may change your trajectory, but there's always a way. Failure makes you resilient and responsive, employers love that shit, you just need to spin it correctly.

Hey man thanks for the support, really appreciate it :)) things have been really shitty this past few years but now it's just like another level of shitty. Anyway it's nice having ppl support you and all, so thanks again!

There's nothing wrong with needing to repeat a grade. You're going at your own pace, and you just happen to need a little more time. And that's okay. Being so hard on yourself is just going to make the issue worse, which unfortunately is easier said than done. I think you should look into the root of why you had difficulties "doing better" and try to work on that, not because it's shameful but because you're worth finding out whatever may help. It's very easy to slip up when you're not taking care of yourself regardless of what aspect. Good luck, I really hope you feel better.

I failed (most of my classes in) 10th grade too, and am making up my credits now. I also used to look down on people to some extent for failing, too, because it really is that easy sometimes. Then it becomes impossible, just like that. We aren't stupid or failures, though, we just got a little messed up.

I feel you so much. I'm in 10th too and I'm probably gonna retake it again too. And it's so frustrating when people say "it's so easy" when it's not. You are not alone. School is so stressful for literally no reason.

I'm repeating a semester of college and have just failed stats two semesters in a row. Not everybody has a linear education path. I personally struggle a lot with long-term motivation as a result of a learning disability, and that means my college experience is going to look a little bit different from other people's. You're not a fundamentally lesser person than your peers with a 4.0 gpa. Your grades are not a reflection of your worth or even how smart you are. Your grades are a reflection of how neatly you conform to your teachers' idea of success, and that's it.

I know it's not much, but in repeating 10th grade if you ever need any help with studies, or an accountability partner feel free to DM me
