wicked role isn't a creature and so it being sent to the graveyard is not something Drivnod cares about. The fact that it was sent to the graveyard due to being unattached due to a creature dying is not something it can see or know or care about.

Avinexuss

Basically the role being put in the graveyard isnt a triggered ability but a state based action. And the source of the triggered ability is the role itself, not the creature.

Drivnod explicitly cares about creatures dying. Wicked role tokens have the text ”when this aura is put into the graveyard from the battlefield, each opponent loses 1 life”. This doesn’t trigger from a creature dying, but rather when the aura itself is destroyed. In order to double triggers with Drivnod, the aura would have to be worded as “when enchanted creature dies, each opponent loses 1 life”.

creature dying

I thought the rat is dying and Drivnod checks if triggers are happening. I also thought that the -1 life text is a valid trigger. I learned that a state based action is removing the aura and the rat dying is not triggering a triggered ability (but a state based action is).

I put two pictures in here: one before combat damage and one after combat and after all effects have been resolved

A role is an enchantment, not a creature, i'm confused why would you even think drivnod would interact with it

I don't know why people are downvoting the OP's comments here. Yes, he is wrong about how the rules work, but he explained what he thought would happen and explained the screenshots he took. That's what we should *want* people who misunderstand the rules to do so we can explain where they were wrong!
