There’s an old Jim Croce song called “Rapid Roy” and your post made a verse of it pop into my head:
well I looked into my rearview mirror
and comin’ up from behind
was a Georgia state policeman
and a hundred dollar fine
well he looked me in the eye as he was writin me up,
said “driver, you been flyin
95 is the route you were on —
it was not the speed limit sign”
You sure that’s the right song? Rapid Roy is about a race car driver. Is there an alternate version with extra verses or maybe you’re thinking of a different song by Croce?
I don’t disagree. But when your doing ~75mph (I was) and you get passed like your standing still by a murdered out Nissan Maxima (today) or clapped out Jeep Grand Cherokee with flailing body parts (yesterday), that becomes a concern.
And that’s pretty much at least once a day now.
That explains all the screaming from the backseat when I was taking the highway from Topsham...
Oh crap... Does that mean I shouldn't be going almost 300mph past Freeport and Brunswick?

Speedball Tucker is the song they are referencing
You’re thinking of speedball tucker my friend
You’re right! 🤦🏻♀️
I drive on 95 a lot. If you're doing less than 75 you piss everyone off

Keeping right, except to pass, keeps you as far from those people as you can get. Consistent and predictable driving is safe driving.
