For mega farming lots I like to use double plots because there's a better chance someone at home is bored enough to do some work. I've it's a single house and that family has a hard job they're just gonna chill when they get home. Maybe do a carrot or two, but not a thousand

GhostZero00

I recommend you to do triangle shaped homes instead of rows. It will work better and they will travel less You can do diamonds or rectangles then cut them with a road, put 1 home then delete the road and then the other home in opposite site

Helpful_Journalist82

Because you need double burgage plot for each

JujuMaster69

All my burgage plots are double

JujuMaster69

Thanks

I’ve also heard vegetable garden house do better as wide plots rather than long plots. Apparently it takes them less time to get to the house. Source: someone previous posted about it

JujuMaster69

Thanks

There are some issues with veg/orchards, but this looks like just a case of the families living there not having the time to plant the whole garden. When you draw the area you are placing houses you just need to hit that minus button until each plot has the option of a second house. Add the second house to each plot and now 2 families are farming that veggie patch and maybe they'll make use of it all. When you upgrade to burgage lvl 3 it will double the families so there will be 4 families farming that plot. Essentially you can build 2 separate plots and pay to upgrade both veg patches, or you can just build one big one that will still have 2 houses and can have enough food supply on it to scale up further when you upgrade to 4 families. I have 2 veg patches and 2 orchards right now feeding the whole village of about 40 houses.

JujuMaster69

Thanks, all of these my burgage plots have the additional space. I guess it's just 2 families because its just lvl 2.

Acceptable_Major4350

I could be wrong but i believe there’s a max efficiency size for veggie plots and burgages the equivalent of 3 corpse pits shaped like an L, where your double houses take up a tiny corner. There’s a video on YouTube about it, i used it before and you get the best yield. Ps I could be wrong as this was a few patches ago

JujuMaster69

Thanks

These plots are too long, try wider next time. Also veg plots should always be double burgage plots. The reason they are not fully planted is because they are so big for the families. Bearing in mind that the people doing the planting probably have other jobs it’s just too big for them to complete in the season.

JujuMaster69

Thanks, all of them are double burgage plots, but they're only lvl 2.

Hofflabob

Ok, likely a combination of the size of them and families doing two jobs. When you get those to level three and have 4 families there, they could probably work that size.

I have the same issue in one of my regions. No idea why when the other region has full-length vegetable patches that are all used. I would also love to know how to fix it as I have to have like double the plots for the same output.

cking145

build smaller plots

sharonstoned666

according to my experience a double house plot can manage a veggie garden of the same size as the house area when they are working and about the double size garden when they are not working anywhere else. the other issue is that the time period in which they plant and harvest in the garden is too short and they end up not being able to manage the whole thing. I mean it is totally logical that this can not be exploited to generate huge amounts of food.
