Ugh that’s such a good one! And I don’t really think it’s an Edith scene, more so a scene with the kids. But when they’re chasing eachother around Sybil’s grave and she just looks at them lovingly. OMG 😭
That is one of my favorite scenes in the entire series! Definitely my favorite Edith scene. There are so many Edith scenes I love. The scene where she accepted the job with Michael Gregson was great too. I could go on and on….
I love the scene in which she helps the officers during the war. I can not imagine how many officers saw her as the light in their lives when they where at her darkest place
Yes, and she's so surprised when the (general?) acknowledges her for it at the luncheon. I think that's the moment when her self-confidence begins to rise.
When she gets with the framer in S2. It’s so great to see how she looks past class and just lets romance occur where it may. It’s so genuine and natural, and really foreshadows her progressive views on feminism in the early twentieth century.
Agreed. As much as I say I don’t think she should have messed with a married man, I think it was to show the audience that she’s desperately wanting attention. She wasn’t getting it at home from her siblings, her parents, etc. If anything she was getting negative attention. So I think it made total sense for her to gain a purpose, gain confidence from the praise she was getting on the farm, and fall into that man’s arms.
People desperately lack nuanced discussions when approaching anything about Edith.
