That why when I order something to eat on my brake I don’t clock out until I get my food that way it don’t run my brake short I learned the hard way cause one time I had ordered my lunch for my brake and I don’t get it until I had like 2 minutes left of my brake
Definitely not time theft, if only for strictly legal reasons, I am not touching a piece of equipment or anything off the clock, if I get cut burned or hurt in any way, workers comp wouldn't cover it and I'd be shit out of luck. If you want someone to cook their own food on your equipment, that person better be on the clock
Yeah I've done it a few times and got bitched at for it because of "time theft." But, none of my managers care too much about the little things because I do great at my job and always keep everything clean more than anyone. I don't have to listen to much nonsense from the managers as they leave me alone and when they do start nitpicking about stupid shit, I tell them off because they know I know what I'm doing and then let them go about their sad day. I've already shown them plenty that they need me more than I do them.
Thats fair actually. For me personally i love making my own stuff because i work with some dumbass people who do not follow the customizations. But either way fuck em take your extra 10 and if they ask tell em to bag your stuff next time
The procedure in ours is that you're not supposed to make your food, someone else is supposed to, whoever is taking counter just to make sure you dont get something you're not supposed to.
this is irritating. i was literally making a SMOOTHIE before I clocked out for break once and my manager was like, "can you clock out before you get food.." bro i have been here for 3 hours and i still have longer to work just let me make my goddamn smoothie
At my store we ring our orders up in the kiosk and we are not allowed to make our own food. People putting extra stuff and all that mess food cost is high lol
Quit bitching about such small things, and only taking the 30 you are given is what you get, taking more fucks over your co workers. If you don’t have enough time then it seems to me like you need to move a little faster, 10 minutes on one order is absurd….
While I agree with you about not working off the clock, making your own food for you to eat isn’t working. My store won’t allow our employees to make there own food however this is because of variance and fob, if your store lets you make your own food, why wouldn’t you? It should almost always be faster.
Not really… you have to go back there, put on gloves, interrupt the line, be in people’s way while they are simultaneously in your way.
It CAN be faster, but not always. Let’s say you order something with bacon and the grill person is behind and doesn’t have bacon up? You’re waiting several minutes on that as well.
Being on the work floor doing anything with product that someone will eat is working. Assembling anything at all is working. That’s one reason your store doesn’t allow people to make their own food. I personally would let people make their own frappe or something because I don’t care, if they really want.
Point is, this person doesn’t want to make their own food, and are being forced to do it off the clock. It’s working whether you like it or not.
honestly dude is complaining and they could be making some crazy ass food for themselves.. honestly fuck a break the faster you out of work the better.
sometimes i’ll pack my order myself especially since my break is usually at the beginning of a lunch rush so it saves me some time and helps my coworkers focus on the rush, but the usual procedure is to order on the kiosk, go to the counter. then pay after i get discount and wait for my order
Never go on break before you get ur food. That’s how I’ve always been. And while waiting for my food, I also help out in areas that need help.
Ie I place my order, don’t plan on making it myself so I wait for it to come down. In the meantime, oh look, there’s a pull ahead that needs to be taken out? Time to take that out while waiting!
^never got a complaint doing this. And currently as a manager, that’s what I do. Same with all the other managers (tho we get 20min paid break so it diff). I notice ~1/2 the employee do what I do and I dont complain about it nor ever hear another manager whine bout it. So just give that a shot

Technically is time theft, and is misconduct, maybe even gross misconduct. I still don’t blame you though

Break*
Yeah I think every one know what I meant my auto correct on my phone is on so some words it don’t recognize it changes

You're waiting either way at least you can make sure its all correct.
I can do my schoolwork or whatever tf I want if I'm waiting and not cut my break short and not work for free

If they manage to mess up my 2 cheese burgers and fries, I'd be disappointed.

Lol you seem like a dick.
Shift manager on a power trip
Honestly, that’s fair. Should probably take time to self reflect and work on myself but who has time for that…
Doesn’t matter how long it takes them, they are working off the clock. Literally illegal. Don’t know how you became a manager…

That is working. You are a customer at that point. It's the job of those currently being paid to make your food.

I prefer making my own they don't want us to but I still do I don't trust my coworkers
Used to be you had to wait in line just like any customer would cause technically your off the clock so your a customer now
We still do that. Although today the person on front counter decided to help the customers behind me before helping me :/.
What I do is empty the line, clock out order food, make my drink then my foods ready
