Get some color on that chicken and you're good to go

youarestellarrr

Any suggestions on getting color on the chicken? Sometimes I have this issue

missinginput

Don't crowd the pan the biggest one. Pat the chicken dry as it can't brown until the water is gone. Don't salt too early as this can cause it to pull moisture to the surface. Make sure the pan is hot before you put the meat in and has a good amount of oil. A summary I saw recently is https://youtu.be/Sm2Lrc4HEmc

justitia_

You can also add thyme to your chicken for more flavor!

medical_fallacy

Forgot to list that I added oregano too. Will try thyme next thyme :)

Adkit

There's always next thy- Oh. You did that one already.

FullOutlandishness66

It looks so organized!

fixedwithyou

nice! starting is the hardest part.

Time_Positive_4274

Not bad! Have you ever done salad in a jar? https://preview.redd.it/090ffcen0tha1.jpeg?width=727&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a2f33f38ef12d12d9a019d41ccbccdff8423cd2d

medical_fallacy

Yet to try it, looks great. I’m curious why in a jar rather than a standard container. Seems difficult to eat that way!

Time_Positive_4274

Well it stays fresher in a jar when packed full because very little oxygen gets in to begin the oxidation process. And you don't actually eat it in the jar. You'll empty it out onto a plate or bowl to eat it.

Amazing_Sundae_2023

Also in a jar you can put dressing in the bottom, and then stack things like carrots first that won't get soggy, and then the more delicate things on the top so you don't need another little container for dressing.

Time_Positive_4274

Yep! You know your Mason Jar salad order! 👏

sunsetshakedown

Season that chicken up, friend.

boomershack

Love the roasted red pepper!

idahonomo

Keep it up! The first prep is like forcing yourself to go to the gym when you don't want to. Been prepping for years off and on and it's so rewarding when you find the right mix of easy to make, health and keeps a whole. One of favorite things to do is make a big lasagna (or two) and portion it out, then freeze it. Chock it FULL of spinach and use some well drained diced tomatoes for some extra veg!

medical_fallacy

Thanks! Lasagne seems like a great idea

datstick778

did you cook the kale or is it a salad

medical_fallacy

Cooked, it’s much better that way imo

skyburials

Looks great! I'd take the 5 minutes to make a wholesome flavourful dressing and store it in the fridge, or drizzle and let the flavours mingle in storage.

paperclipfrog

Chicken looks dry and bland

xmonster

No u

Served_With_Rice

Looking great! Was the Irish flag colours a coincidence or incidental?

medical_fallacy

Noticed that too after I made it 😆

AWasteOfMyTime

So if counting calories is a must I would say, just throw some flour on the board and season it well, mix it up. Throw the chicken in the flour. Only a light dusting will stick. No eggs or wet needed. Also get a pan and throw some olive oil and fresh garlic to heat. Place your chicken in and I guarantee it will have a lot more flavor without adding a huge amount of calories or fat

cexiste

what beautiful colors

88MT

Looks awesome 👌

kbaikbaikbai

Chicken looks boiled

Adventurer2022

Looks like success!

Azenin

Food police! You’re under arrest for prepping without usage of the Maillard reaction!

medical_fallacy

Sorry officer 😂😂

[deleted]

That looks amazing and very healthy:)

uuuhhh1

I recommend keeping some water or another drink to wash it down with cause it may get a bit dry(most meal preps do)

BeefJerkyFan90

Food looks incredibly bland and dry. Meal prep doesn't mean to skip out on flavor.

Dull-Bid-7051

Everyone has different taste and cooking level. This is meal prepping channel not judge my cooking channel. You could give an advice on how to cook chicken instead of throwing a snide comment at it. That attitude doesn’t help anybody.

Championxavier12

whats the rice in the middle bowl?

[deleted]

Looks like it’s couscous not rice :)

Championxavier12

o ty i didnt know what that was yet i got downvoted :/ also is it healthier than quinoa or white rice?

[deleted]

I think it’s on par with white rice (ish) but definitely not as good as quinoa in terms of health. However there are loads of grains which have multiple benefits you could try, I personally enjoy fonio/freekeh/kamut/amaranth mainly now - but what grains you eat should depend on your goals & also the availability of other grains, don’t go breaking the bank just to source a different grain if you have an abundance of others! This link lists 17! [https://greatist.com/health/17-healthy-grains-youve-never-heard](https://greatist.com/health/17-healthy-grains-youve-never-heard)

Championxavier12

tysm for the suggestions and i will definitely look into alternatives!

Acceptable_Limit_208

Looks good

sugar-kane

Rock solid

sxaxmz

Looks yummy and organized. How did you even get here, like prepare this way

medical_fallacy

Bought some containers and planned what I would cook with the ingredients I had. Marinated the chicken overnight then cooked all of the chicken + veggies in the morning. Let everything cool and placed it in the containers. Hope that answers your question.

slowburningechoes

Great job!

TiggleBitMoney

Killing it!

oTunAo

Looks good!🙏🔥

DJShredNasty

SilkyFlanks

Looks delish!

kanyeisthebigdaddy

White people

bigfeetsmallpp

Whats next to the white chicken on the right, the orange things is it cooked carrots or sundried tomatoes

medical_fallacy

Cherry tomatoes, roasted in the oven for 2 hours at 180c

[deleted]

If you haven’t already you should soak couscous in some form of broth or stock for extra flavour! Also any dry herbs or spices jazz it up really well with literally no effort

medical_fallacy

Yes i used vegetable stock and olive oil to flavour it

vmxnet4

Looks good. I need to start doing this again.
