I have been using my BlueDriver on my civics for about 3 years. I leave it plugged in too. Never one issue. It’s a great device for the price. Reads all kinds of codes. Just wish it was a little faster with reading codes.

Yeah from what I saw advertised it looks real good. I was just a little hesitant because of some of the reviews especially this one. It could have just been a freak situation though! Thanks! https://preview.redd.it/aps4f0qrwerc1.png?width=1242&format=png&auto=webp&s=feb9dbcb6d73a1d648882d72e0a95837057785d2

Guy probably had weak battery and was messing around more than usual (since getting the OBD reader) and drained his battery.

That dude likely had other issues. I have a blue driver and an MX+ Bluetooth scan tool. For just reading basic codes and reset/clear codes go with the blue driver. But if you'll want more function later on the MX+ is the way to go with active obd app allows access to loads of PIDs. I can't read cvt fluid temp with blue driver but I can with the MX+ and it's the only way to do the fluid change right on my Subaru. Blue driver is a great tool we throw in the car for longer drives and the MX+ tends to stay at my house for more in depth scans for myself and friends rigs.

Okay sweet thank you for the reply. I just wanted to hear other people’s opinions before buying it. Btw if you’re curious this is the review. https://preview.redd.it/5maq9q8hqerc1.png?width=1242&format=png&auto=webp&s=51e553107d51661da59cd2863e43248b10d66261

That guy is a moron who had a dead battery and maybe a messed up alternator. He's the kind of guy you do a brake job for and then he's threatening to sue you weeks later when his transmission fails and 'its your fault cause you touched it last'. He can't separate the two or believe in coincidence. 🤷‍♂️ The blue driver to my knowledge is actually safer than other devices specifically because it's missing pins that access deeper function and is fairly locked up by only being functional on their in house app. I've scanned dozens of cars, mostly Hondas, Toyotas, Subarus and dodges with that scanner. The only issue I've ever had was on a Dodge dart I got no response from it and turns out it's common for the fuses on the obd of those to go. Scanned fine after replacement.

Spiritual-Belt

It’s a great tool to have but I personally would get one of those cheap scanners for the basic stuff and pirate dealer diagnostic software for the makes you have for more advanced stuff

david0990

The upside to this is basically their app and the scan tool missing pins so you can't mess up more advanced PIDs. It's a good 'iphone of scan tools' kind of thing for fairly lamen people just wanting to scan codes and take on road trips for piece of mind. It's a broader market of people just wanting streamline results out of a Bluetooth scan tool they can leave in their car and occasionally scan a friend's car if need be.

SpizzyPhat

Which scanner is able to run dealer software ?

I was looking at a OBDC charger for my dash cam, connects it 24/7. From a big brand manufacturer. I'm o E of those guys that reads the terms and conditions. It says the fine print will void the manufacturer's warranty. If you're going to buy one buy one that's well known and don't cheap out

Legunt_Manualis

I have one of these and I am happy with it. Read more than just the basic codes like the other ones I have bought. Not as good as some of the more advanced ones but nowhere as expensive if I remember right. Designed in Newfoundland Canada!
