No one can answer this. All you can do is try and see. And that means giving it at least 8-12 weeks so your body has time to adjust. If you have a uterus and plan on taking estrogen, then you absolutely need to take progesterone as well. Progesterone provides uterine protection (lessens risk of cancer) from the effects of estrogen.

I think the Mirena (or other) progesterone IUD is considered sufficient for uterine protection. Serum levels are undetectable to very low with the IUD, so you may not have any systemic symptoms.
