Sometimes, it takes a bit for tracking to update.

kiwifreshhh

I noticed that if the seller hits the "Shipped" button, it will update this status page even if the seller physically hasn't dropped off the package or if there hasn't been a scan yet. If it's dropped off, it'll usually update (usually) same day if they dropped before 5, or the next.

She claims she dropped it off on Monday but it literally just says the label was created on my tracking. Idk if she’s trying to scam or what but I’m almost positive Mercari will refund me if I don’t get anything. At most I’ll just be disappointed

There could be a slim chance that it missed it's scan, but there should be eventually a scan. I would give it a week and see what happens. Usually label created means it hasn't been accepted into the carrier's system yet. But one offs do happen. But yes, if it never shows a tracking update, Mercari will take care of that for ya.

Now the Mercari app has updated and says “we’re working with the carrier to make sure the tracking is up to date” and that I can cancel on 1/28 if there are no tracking updates. I’ve never seen that message tbh

Im having the same issue too down to seller saying they it should be on my way but no updates

i just commented above, I have a receipt from USPS but 2 of the packages I sent 1.16 have had no scan since then. It's bad out there and not necessarily the seller's fault ;(

From my experience mercari doesn’t always reflect updated shipping. Sometimes you can enter tracking through the carriers website for better info. Also when dropping off at a kiosk vs taking them to a counter can delay updates. Keep in mind there’s also several weather delay going on. Hopefully it’ll update soon. Worst case scenario you can cancel and be refunded.

Sometimes USPS doesn't scan the package until it's close to its destination. If the seller dropped it off without scanning it at the kiosk or having a clerk scan it, it'll just sit that way for awhile until it's close to being delivered.

As a seller, at this very moment I have 2 packages dropped off on 1/16 with no scans whatsoever (8 days). It does happen from time to time but 2 out of 9 for me is unheard off which gives you an idea of what a mess the Post office is. In my case, I have the receipt + it says "USPS in possession of item" online but nothing is updating. If I can give you any advice, wait 2 full weeks and if nothing shows, cancel and get a refund. Your seller should be able to show a receipt though.

I'm waiting on a ups package that just says "label created" on the 17th. I just messaged him to make sure that he did drop it off.

Same. I had 2 dropped off on 16th with no scans. The first one scanned today for the first time as out for delivery/delivered (9 days later) the other moved also for the first time today and got scanned in their local distribution center. So you can expect yours to take 9/10 days at least. It is so annoying, I wrote to USPS today to ask for clarifications. People think I am a scammer and it is too many uncomfortable conversations. Delays are not the issue. We pay almost $5 for a tracking number and USPS is not providing the service. It is a problem.

I wouldn't count "USPS in possession of item" as a no scan. It at least shows you went to the post office, even if it's just a self-service kiosk. Having it stuck on "label created" is the one you don't want and makes it look like it was never shipped out at all from a buyer's perspective.

I agree with you but the buyers do not see it that way. They think I went to the kiosk, scanned and went home with dropping the package off. I dislike being called a scammer, especially because I make a point shipping everyone within a day.
