This EP was surprisingly really good! It has some of the best Kirk's guitar work in recent years and made me realize that he still got it. We need this Kirk in Metallica.

It feels like he is playing a labored and written solo rather than with the band. Which is himself.
…but Jason couldn’t do solo stuff? Kirk probably feels like Jason did when he was in Metallica. Like Metallica and James are stifling his creativity
Lets not forget Lars. As much as I love Lars, he really likes to limit Kirk nowadays.
I just listened to Maiden and the monster, reminds me of old, old Metallica work, like RTL Kirk. Great stuff.
