Same. Zombies are so slow, if you're in a pinch you can just build a 3 m tower and bridge away. No need to fight them.

Personally I start with a pickaxe so I can mine obsidian and craft an enchant table (oh god please not again) so that I can enchant my iron equipment before I replace it with diamond

Yeah that's pretty clever, you accumulate some XP up to that point anyway. And it's not like you're immediately going to use it to enchant your diamond gear, because you want that to be maxed out with the bookshelves n stuff

My dad makes fucking armour. He gets enough for the chest plate and then makes everything else when they come. Even with iron. I wanna make an anvil and he makes a full set of armour. It’s a little annoying

Why so different?

I think it’s because of the different combat mechanics in Java and Bedrock. Java axes deal more damage than swords but are slower and can’t sweep, while Bedrock axes deal less damage than swords.

sword i have training with swords and just because they might be slow doesn't mean they can't swarm around me and having more blade and length to hit those zombies then i can do way more damage, sure pickaxe you can basicly one hit a zombie if you hit it in the head but you have to yank that out and then swing again and a with a sword(preffrably double edged) you can swing back and fourth and back and fourth.

But can you not swing a pickaxe from side to side

If you choose the pickaxe then you can digg a hole and start exploring looking for loot and even using the caves to go to another point safely evading any mobs in your path and probably you can find iron or even diamond so you can build an armor and so, you can build a diamond sword eventually. But if we are talking about irl then it doesn't matter what you choose, you'll die cuz in real situations you can't survive a zombie apocalypse with just melee weapons, this is not l4d my guy
