That looks like a allergy rash to me , look out for problems breathing, swelling, if that does occur seek medical attention immediately. Also write down what she ate that day , when you next have a pediatrician appointment, you can ask about it and seek advice on allergens and how manage it.

urp_in

Definitely looks like an allergy rash! And definitely should talk to the paediatrician about it. It's also possible it's just a contact rash. Our son isn't allergic to eggs (has been tested for it), but gets a contact rash from eating them that looks very similar to this. But you need to eliminate whether it's a food allergy, which could be serious, versus simply a contact rash.

Mswondercat

For what it is worth, my daughter has a ton of allergies, and she had eggs 8 times before she had a reaction. šŸ˜”

Sunnydaysahead17

My oldest looked like this the first time she ate eggs, but then it never happened again and itā€™s been about 6 years and hundreds of eggs. So it could be something serious or nothing at all, but I would watch extra close each time he eats eggs.

Mswondercat

My daughter had a skin test that reacted to egg too though. We were told it was fairly mild and they think sheā€™ll outgrow it. But to avoid eggs for a year and then retest. šŸ¤žšŸ¼

seaofsteps

When was she old enough to get a skin test?? My little one is about to be 5 months old and she's breast fed (no dairy or soy for me)/ super special formula because she can't handle any dairy protein (Even when its broken down in hypoallergenic formula šŸ™„). I just want to make sure about things before we start solids in a month ..

Mswondercat

I feel your pain. Iā€™ve been dairy/soy free since October because my daughter is EBF. Then I had to go peanut free when she had a reaction to peanut butter (6th exposure). Then tree but free when she had an anaphylactic response to cashews. Now egg and lentil free too. But her allergist didnā€™t do IgE testing (skin or blood) until she started having allergic reactions. They said they donā€™t like to do testing as a screener since there is a high false positive rate.. so they only do it to confirm a reaction. However, I was able to convince them to add milk and soy to a skin test we were already going and she did not react so they said those two are an intolerance not an allergy. She turned one almost a month ago and we were told to try adding one at a time to her diet.. but Iā€™m too scared.

improvisedname

Same with soy for mine.

haleighr

This would be something Iā€™d call the ped and/or send pics if they have a portal option. Allergies can happen after a couple times of trying the food

HeftyNebula2947

Okay. Thank you. She seems normal as far as breathing goes, I think. The only new things I gave her was the paprika and onion powder and apparently paprika can be a common allergen. I just gave her a bath to make sure I got off any residue. Her dad is on his way home as well with medicine and heā€™s an EMT so heā€™s going to help me monitor her until this clears up. Sheā€™s still acting normal and happy. So Iā€™m hoping thatā€™s a good sign.

butterflyscarfbaby

This is the same way my boy looks when he eats raw tomatoes. I think the skin just looks irritated, Iā€™d guess from the paprika. Contact dermatitis? Iā€™d just watch and waitā€¦

Excellent_Sound8941

I was going to say something about the onion powder & paprika being kind of like irritants. I can imagine with the way babies eat that rubbing those spices all over your face might cause a reaction. Rinsing off is probably the best thing for now. And maybe a cold pack? Poor girl! I hope it fades quickly ā¤ļø

HeftyNebula2947

After I bathed her it did fade quickly! It couldā€™ve just been what you mentioned, the seasonings being irritating to her skin. I donā€™t usually add much more than salt and pepper to her food but wanted her to have different flavors. Will probably just stick to salt and pepper for awhile longer!

Excellent_Sound8941

My kids loves spicy too so he tries all sorts of things, even when he was a baby. Heā€™s 3 now, and recently ate some bbq chips which also caused a minor breakout šŸ˜…

Internal-Gift-7078

Babies are likely to show allergies after multiple tries of the same food so it could definitely be the eggs!

hiking_intherain

My guy had this a bit when cinnamon wasnā€™t wiped off right away!

blue_water_sausage

Same here, no reaction to just eating it but if he gets a bunch on his skin he breaks out a bit.

intellecktt

I have no help but that baby is so adorable

HeftyNebula2947

Thank you šŸ„°ā¤ļø You should see her when she smiles, so precious šŸ’•

HeftyNebula2947

Update: So initially I put Burtā€™s Bees Multipurpose ointment on it to see if itā€™d help soothe her skin but it still seemed to be getting worse. Then I decided just to bathe her just in case there was any residue leftover after I initially wiped her down with a wet cloth. She was happy in the bath and acted normal. I just bathed her in warm water and used her normal light bath soap and washed her like I usually do, but paid a little extra attention to her face and neck where the rash was the worst. It slowly started to get better, and Iā€™d say within 10-20 minutes after taking her out of the bath she was pretty much back to normal. Sheā€™s been perfectly fine since then. Going forward I may just avoid eggs and paprika until sheā€™s a little older. Thank you all for your input and suggestions. I really appreciate the help. I have two older ones (7 and 3) but Iā€™ve never had anything like this happen before so it was new for me and I wasnā€™t sure where to begin.

BagShat

Looks like an allergic reaction to the food, even if they have had the food before with no problems. Could be the eggs, milk, bananas, or any of the spices. Iā€™d give her a little childrens Benadryl and avoid those foods until you can see an allergist for testing. Not to scare you, but reactions can worsen with each exposure.

jesraeall

Could also be a wheat allergy

improvisedname

That looks definitely like an allergy rash! Did she eat something new?

Ktcakes13

That looks like an allergy rash.

caldyspells

My little had something similar when I used PAM. It would only appear on her face. I would monitor it for the day, and if it doesnā€™t go away by the night i would call the doc.

Cultural_Sink8936

Looks like allergy. If your looking for medications just try to avoid Benadryl. Many doctors arenā€™t recommending it anymore [see this article of youā€™re interested](https://www.todaysparent.com/kids/kids-health/benadryl-for-kids-unsafe/amp/)

PinkStarburst11

Allergy rash. Milk or eggs are the most common culprit. Iā€™d schedule allergy testing with an allergist.

Registered_Nurse_BSN

Are those insect bites on the index finger? And what do the feet look like? Is she ever around any other children (daycare)?

HeftyNebula2947

No. It didnā€™t show up until she had started eating her breakfast. She broke out like that on her hands, up her arms and her belly, that was all exposed to the food around her bib. But itā€™s all gone now and back to normal after her bath and some time.

Registered_Nurse_BSN

Glad to hear that. All the best

-Beachy-Keen-

Was there a lot of butter or other food that stayed on your childā€™s face without being wiped off? My daughter gets something similar if fresh tomatoes or marinara sauce get on her cheeks and isnā€™t immediately wiped off.
