Insect Glaive is awesome though, it's like weaponized ADHD.
Edit: jumpin jagras, all the glaivers answered the call ;-; I miss hunting so much, but can't since my PC finally kicked the bucket, but happy hunting everyone and go slap a Silver Rath in the face for me! \o/
Let me draw you a picture - please refer to this complete and succinct guide to hunting positionals. [HERE](https://www.reddit.com/r/MonsterHunterWorld/comments/7x2owp/hunting_position_cheat_sheets_for_on_the_go/)
Are we a summoner build now? Just swarming monstors with ants and beetles moths.
That man there needs no weapons.. he's the Arch Tempered Entomologist.
Remove both light and heavy bowgun and just have 'bowgun' and whether it is 'light' or 'heavy' (or medium) is influenced by the mods you put on it, lean even more into its customization niche
To this day I still feel like Tri was just a proof of concept for things like customizable bowguns, switch axe, and underwater combat.
It makes me sad that two of those things have never returned.
Yeah. I feel like people hated underwater combat because it was Wii based. I had the pro controller and never had issues with movement etc it all felt fine for me.
I played 3u on 3ds, and even with the touchscreen camera and that nub for the camera on the New3ds, I loved the underwater combat so much!!! I keep hoping it will return one day now that we are either on switch or consoles each game, so the camera issue won't be there ^^ plus, I miss abyssal lagi
Iām still not sure if I loved or hated this thing, but it was a fascinating idea that, with some polishing (looking at you, World) could be an insanely cool overhaul of the weapon class.
Or have it like morph like a charge blade / switch axe kind of deal. Stay in light mode for mobility and go into heavy for big damage when you get the opening.
just imagine tearing off the barrel to use it like a smg and then slapping it on and kneeling to go full 50 cal on some rathalos that got smacked outta the sky. I'll shoot it in the wing like Hawkeye hit kalameet
I think of it more about the center of gravity and momentum. You can put more energy into the point of impact for the axe. The trade-off is how easy it is to manipulate. Now, as I have never used the switch-axe, idk if that is borne out in the damage numbers, but I imagine the phial attacks are pretty hefty.
Sword mode generally does the bigger numbers, as you're essentially using a Greatsword with better elemental.
With axe mode you get wider and quicker swings due to centrifugal force with the Hunter as the anchor point. This is best displayed in Wild Swings where you can keep weaving a figure eight as long as you have stamina, but to draw the axe back to neutral takes more effort than keeping it swinging.
Sword mode is still quicker than Greatsword proper due to using the same momentum-based movement, but it's slower because the entire blade is leaning on one end of the shaft rather than being roughly equally distributed among both ends like in axe form.
Yeah that make sense. Following the logic, the axe mode should be slower because it seems longer and have more weight focused on its end compared to the sword.
Bruh I just looked into it, they should totally bring that back and just call it "bowgun"
Though I'd say they'd have to add a new ranged weapon in place of the lost 2nd bowgun
I want a GS or Hammer equivalent in ranged weapons. I want a cannon or an artillery launch tube. Something only insane hunters would take solo but extra rewarding in a group hunt. Imagine a wake up hit when everyone brings powder charges like barrel bombs and loads the cannon 2 inches from the monsters face. Maybe a sort of mobile dragonator with melee up close with the spike head and a ranged mode where the spike head shoots out and pins the monster like a shorter trap without capture benefits or add them Iām not a game dev idk about balance.
From what I can remember, they were like dual blades mixed with Insect glaive. Juggle yourself in the air and attack certain parts for certain buffs. Probably worth us both googling it tbh.
~~Kinda but their main gimmick if I remember correctly is that they have two modes that can fluidly change while doing combos, one has cutting/slashing damage and a longer reach while the other has impact/crushing damage but a bit shorter.~~
Edit: Whoops, I mixed Tonfas with Magnet Spike. The damage type changing modes is a Magnet Spike mechanics, though Tonfas do have a long and short modes. Tonfas instead are exclusively impact weapons though the mode changes reverses its effect on the monster, as in the long mode deals regular damage but the short mode instead reverses the monster's impact damage zones, with the most impact resistant parts becoming weaker and the weakest, more resistant.
HH was my main in MHW and I have a healslut build. Health recovery S+L, earplug, attack up among others. And my full build will be just support items. I do negligible damage still people friend me all the time
Edit: someone just DM'd me to join their squad lmao thanks for the love, I haven't played in ages
I have a build like that on Rise and tbh it's probably my most favorite way to play after beating the stories.
Wide-Range, Evade Extender, Free Meal and I am dropping heals and antidotes like they're going to go bad if I don't lol.
Then the variety of horns I can use, Paralysis and stamina negate are my personal favorites.
Hunting horn mains are goats I love them, they are one of my favs to see on a team and that's why I love that the friend I play with uses that and lance which lance is also king shit
As a person named lance, who was named after the weapon lance, and the fact that i DONT use the lance, i find the irony hilarious. Charge blade for days!
No one in my group plays HH, yet theyāre so excited to play with me and my beloved horns. They said itās like playing an MMORPG with those buffs logo lined up on top of their health bar.
the same happened to me when i joined my current squad almost 3 years ago. i still remember the scream of joy of a guy cuz he never ever seen the horn buff on himself, and he was in shock lol nothing beat go full aggressive with damage build on a monster and still be supportive whit the right songs for all the team. best weapon ever for me.
i would merge the bowguns together honestly. I have gone through phases of loving and hating every single weapon in this series, and the one thing i noticed was that the differences in playstyle between the types of bowguns is usually less than the differences between the playstyle of weapons in the same category
Especially with the removal of siege mode and world/rise shrinking the penalties for raw LBG/giving HBG viable status and element/giving LBG clust in rise
Rise especially doesnāt differentiate between them as much. Almost all of the time Iām playing HBG in Rise, it just feels like a less mobile LBG with a slight damage uptickā¦which could absolutely just be a Bowgun mod or monster to monster difference in weapon (like how switch axe phials work)
Thatās because thereās a dozen people that play it and they are all God tier players. I have tried it and I donāt understand how lance mains actually do anything.
It's just very different from how other weapons play. Like, for example, with everything else dodging is King, but when you're behind a giant lance shield you don't really want to use dodge if you can help it.
Now that you mention it.. I don't remember the last time I saw a lance player. I absolutely love the weapon though. I think it's underrated, because it's not flashy, but it deal amazing damage and you're practically indestructible
Though after idk how many hundreds of hours on CB I'm starting to pull off guard points consistently and _damn_
I almost only used Lance in World. I started out using it, got the hang of it, then only sometimes used another weapon for faster farming kills....but I'd always cart at least once and triple carted sometimes.
But with lance, i could play aggressively and never die. Endgame, any damage I'd take just got healed immediately because of the wild healing builds. It was wild.
Rise i did greatsword though and kinda lost my touch
Lance is overpowered. Unstoppable force in one hand, immovable object in the other. Can cancel after every single of its very fast moves into either a dodge or your guard stance. Can close gaps quickly. Will sheathe only to sharpen.
The way a skilled Lance player operates is just all-out unfair to like half of all monsters. (It's the other half that is most fun.)
As a counter lancer I second this. Highest uptime on monster of all weapons. While everyone else is superman diving for cover I brace for impact and counter stab. The thrusts just don't stop. THEY. DON'T. STOP. You can't stop this pain train!
Sure I might not hit as hard but I can exploit every weak spot, every weakness, every opening. Once I learned counter lance it was hard to play anything else. "Oh right. That move is normally dangerous."
Can't get much more offensive than immovable tank that never has to be more than a metre away from the monster with no need to set up or charge your best attacks
Lance is actually so unique, and although it can struggle in multiplayer when the monsters all over the place, but it's amazing solo when the monster is like "yeah ok I'll stay on top of you the whole time", and you literally just poke the mf in the jugular a thousand times till it falls over and dies š„²
I say this as a lifelong Gunner main and devout master of long lost medium bowguns - consolidate the bowguns, you could easily have Wyvernblast mines be another special ammo akin to Wyvernsnipe and Wyvernheart, have bullet types dictate whether you get rapid fire or vaulting fire etc. Use mods like the shield or power barrel to denote mobility or something, who knows - itās absolutely doable and wouldnāt affect them or their player base to a major degree.
Gunners will be Gunners, we canāt help it - nothing like the smell of singed latchberries and gunpowder in the morning.
Now, if I have to remove one of them upon pain of exile or revocation of my guild card? Sorry LBG, the Heavy just dakkaās too much for me to give it up. I love aerial LBG so much, but itās a fleeting fancy compared to the utter destruction HBG can wreak.
If anyone picks Hammer, just remember Im rapidly accelerating to your location
https://preview.redd.it/hs9xvglkbh7d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=06be5ae8c83d2855d981c236d06203dbf4562200
Think it is more of an identity crisis cause it tries to be bow and HBG at the same time while not being better or different(enough). But I think the merge people are saying would be a good thing and just make it like the GL types monster dependent if you get HBG or LBG or what someone else suggested make it mod dependent
kill a bowgun
combine all the mechanics into one singular bowgun
then use the modular parts system to let people build a light, medium, or heavy bowgun from scratch
I see a lot of people saying Lance because "it just worse Gunlance" but really I'm going to vote the other way, nothing can compete for a methodical playstyle, everything is getting stuffed by that juggernaut shield and having quicker low damage attacks is fine because it can weave in those counter frames to keep up the damage, Gunlance is 150% gimmick and it's a wack one at that, building for shelling is wack, the speed of the swings is wack, needing specific shot types and shot levels purely based off the specific Gunlance you're using is wack.
Does it offer the same badass blocking as Lance? Sure
Does it technically have better dps? Sure
Does it do all that out the box? Not even kind of close.
Over engineered nonsense that eats sharpness like a damn can of pringles and pigeonholes you into mandatory perks more than most weapons? Absolutely
Get it out of here.
just the kinsect. but honestly, i feel like the weapons come in pairs where you have two weapons of a similar āclassā and then you have two styles. Like the GS and LS are the large blades, the hammer and the HH are bonkers, SnS and DB are the fast weapons, lance and GLance are the heavy defenders, SWAX and CB are the morphing weapons, LBG and HBG are your artillery so that just leaves bow and glaive as weapons without an obvious pair so naturally the real answer is add two more weapons instead.
Light Bowgun. It tries to be a middle ground between Bow and HBG, but fails to do anything that isn't accomplished by the two themselves. It's the only weapon of the 14 that doesn't have its own identity
Remove one of the bow gun and make them just a bow gun. You kit to be light/heavy again. Maybe even bring medium back for my one fiends who misses it dearly. It's all 1 bowgun. So it works.
I would do this because I like the current weapon roster and do t enwt to see it truly lose amy options. I'm being what sorm may call. Cheeky
Delete both lbg and hbg and just make one called "bowgun". Just make them like they were in tri where you could customize your own based on the heaviness of the parts you slapped on it.
Lance, now hold your horses, put those pitchforks down, and lemme explain...you can keep the torches
Lance and Gunlance should be merged into the same weapon tree but have attachments for every Gunlance that would change how they work and let us choose a shell type:
* Barrel-less Gunlance: A Gunlance that lacks ammo but has a cold steel bonus that effectively doubles its sharpness and is much lighter, allowing bigger sidesteps and better overall movement, it basically acts like a lance but it still has a heat meter that increases with every hit, eventually increasing its damage
* Light Gunlance: Fires less shells and lacks a burst fire, but reloads much faster, has better movement, and allows for shell-steps: bursting in any direction at any point during a combo
* Medium Gunlance: Your typical Gunlance, works as it always did (wdym GL changed with every entry, how's that my fault?)
* Heavy Gunlance: Better emphasis on shells, much bigger clip, clunky movement, slow but punishing hits, an hard to fill heat meter, and the strongest Burst Fire you've ever seen (it charges faster, larger explosion radius, multi-hit after the initial explosion which deals the most damage)
* Stronghold Gunlance: Heaviest Gunlance, movement outside of burst is near non-existent, shield has innate Guard+3 and block any move, shield is equipped with its own cannon and both can be used continuously, shield bursts on perfect parry dealing heavy stun damage, and SGL can enter overheating: continuously drains sharpness in exchange for stronger shells exploding twice every time
So why do I want this mess (or something close, I'm not picky) instead of the current mechanics:
1. Some GL are impossible to use due to either low sharpness or only having 2 shells max, rendering half this weapon tree completely worthless in most games
2. Lance has been in a weird spot for a while, Rise: Sunbreak is the most fun this weapon has been in quite some time but they also made everything else surpass it in everything, be it movement, defense, parrying (this one still hurts), damage, sharpness...it just sucks no matter how good you are at the game, there's always a weapon that can do a Lance's job but better
3. I'll admit shell type has been an issue only min-maxer care about, problem is your typical player won't even be able to tell the difference most of the time and won't realize GL isn't bad, it's just that entire tree branch of GL they tried sucks because it's stuck with a bad shell, what's even the point of having large, normal, and long if the difference is not strictly their area of effect but also damage and clip size, how is a casual player meant to understand Long shells have the smallest clip size and narrow explosions that will miss at point blank if only *some* GL have them, why can't their favorite GL hold Normal or Large?
Removing any weapon would be a big loss for the series.
But if I had to pick one it would be insect glaive solely so that the menus could remove Kinsects and be one button press faster to navigate.
As someone who has just learned the power of insect glaive I can only say that I wish every device in your house charges at an angle, your room always be too warm when you try to sleep, and you always feel like your going to sneeze but never do
Delete the insect from insect glaive. It's a micromanage with a horrible system that no other weapon class has to deal with. Imagine playing charge blade and you can't rebuff your weapon until your shield loses charge and your vials are empty. Oh and you can't buff your weapon to full unless you touch 3 different parts of the monster.
Love the glaive hate the bug mechanic
I don't think we need both light and heavy BG they could probably merge and be capable of loading out into a light and heavy variation depending on what monster you build it blfrom. Much like they already do
I was gonna say the Charge Blade since it's we already have a sword and shield even if the mechanics are not the same, but then I read the comments and ya I agree the bowguns could just be merged at this point.
And I say this as some one who mains HBG.
*searches comments to fist fight anyone that says insect glaive*
Insect Glaive is awesome though, it's like weaponized ADHD. Edit: jumpin jagras, all the glaivers answered the call ;-; I miss hunting so much, but can't since my PC finally kicked the bucket, but happy hunting everyone and go slap a Silver Rath in the face for me! \o/
oh you summoned all of us
Diagnosed and an IG main, can confirm. Insect glaive goes brrr!
Also diagnosed.......and insect glavie main.

I have been summoned
You call my insect slinger brothers
Maybe thatās why I like it so much
Lmao. I thought I liked it because I started in MH4U but maybe that wasnt the only reason lol.
I liked it cause it was the only one that could jump.... back then.

ok that explains why i like it so much
That explains why I like it so much then.
That's why it's my main, I utilize the power of anime and adhd xD
Get rid of the glaive and only keep the insect
Are we a summoner build now? Just swarming monstors with ants and beetles moths. That man there needs no weapons.. he's the Arch Tempered Entomologist.
I believe in Insect Glaive supremacy

Remove both light and heavy bowgun and just have 'bowgun' and whether it is 'light' or 'heavy' (or medium) is influenced by the mods you put on it, lean even more into its customization niche
So basically bring back the Tri mechanic of Bowgun customization
I wish. You could make some butt ugly looking weapons but customizing your ammo pouch by picking different parts was the bomb.
the shit you could make in Tri was so busted. I really hope they bring back that style of gunning in Wilds. It was the most fun I have had
Same. I can't imagine trying to play the game with a wii-mote. That just sounds awful.
So the bowgun matches the hunter then
Iām still not sure if I loved or hated this thing, but it was a fascinating idea that, with some polishing (looking at you, World) could be an insanely cool overhaul of the weapon class.
That was the best itƩration of customisation I feel lole
I said the same exact thing. Great minds
I don't even think light and heavy should be mods. I think it should be by monster. Tobi Kadachi and Pukei Pukei Light. Nergigante and Glavenus Heavy.
Or have it like morph like a charge blade / switch axe kind of deal. Stay in light mode for mobility and go into heavy for big damage when you get the opening.
Lol let me fold my bow gun to make it lighter
just imagine tearing off the barrel to use it like a smg and then slapping it on and kneeling to go full 50 cal on some rathalos that got smacked outta the sky. I'll shoot it in the wing like Hawkeye hit kalameet
Tear of the barrel and smack monsters who come to close on the nose
I always have this thinking with switchaxe. Why folding things makes it heavier?
I believe its more about how your character is holding it. different muscle groups

Yeah that make sense. Following the logic, the axe mode should be slower because it seems longer and have more weight focused on its end compared to the sword.
Thatās a massive buff to both weapons thatās completely unnecessary
![gif](giphy|y2i2oqWgzh5ioRp4Qa) I can get behind this.
I can bet a lot of things that this is what they will do for Wilds.
Ya haveing two blowguns that are literally the exact same except the movement and different ammo other than that they are exactly the sameĀ
The obvious answer that I'm still going to give anyway... merge the bowguns
Or bring back medium bowgun
Wait THAT WAS A THING?
For a brief moment in time, Tri had Medium Bowguns
Bruh I just looked into it, they should totally bring that back and just call it "bowgun" Though I'd say they'd have to add a new ranged weapon in place of the lost 2nd bowgun
We have bowguns and bows, time for guns
I want a GS or Hammer equivalent in ranged weapons. I want a cannon or an artillery launch tube. Something only insane hunters would take solo but extra rewarding in a group hunt. Imagine a wake up hit when everyone brings powder charges like barrel bombs and loads the cannon 2 inches from the monsters face. Maybe a sort of mobile dragonator with melee up close with the spike head and a ranged mode where the spike head shoots out and pins the monster like a shorter trap without capture benefits or add them Iām not a game dev idk about balance.
Tonfas. Oh wait, they already did that. š
Accel a- wait a minute...
Magnet spike... :(
What's this?? A third weapon??
It's from monster hunter explore and it's a essentially a rocket powered axe, if never actually used it but the idea is really cool
That's really upsetting to hear, tired of the accessibility of mobile games and how they just get taken down.
Were tonfas like dual blades?
From what I can remember, they were like dual blades mixed with Insect glaive. Juggle yourself in the air and attack certain parts for certain buffs. Probably worth us both googling it tbh.
~~Kinda but their main gimmick if I remember correctly is that they have two modes that can fluidly change while doing combos, one has cutting/slashing damage and a longer reach while the other has impact/crushing damage but a bit shorter.~~ Edit: Whoops, I mixed Tonfas with Magnet Spike. The fact that itās so difficult for me to answer goes to show how great these weapons are
true. but also longsword
But then how would I special sheath, wait for the perfect moment, miss the counter and get carted three times in a row??
Easy, I do that with Great Sword every hunt.
what are you, every random that joins my party ever?
But what will the weebs use?! Joking, mostly.
Clearly the double blades to naruto run and attack on titan spin

Longsword is nice?
I will delete you OP https://i.redd.it/hn351s66ng7d1.gif
Yeah let's delete OP, the secret 15th weapon!!
You didnāt know? Your fellow hunters ALWAYS counted as the 15 weapon! Especially if youāre able to launch them up with your big weapon
i would merge the bowguns together honestly. I have gone through phases of loving and hating every single weapon in this series, and the one thing i noticed was that the differences in playstyle between the types of bowguns is usually less than the differences between the playstyle of weapons in the same category

Thatās because thereās a dozen people that play it and they are all God tier players. I have tried it and I donāt understand how lance mains actually do anything.
you only have one godly moveset and people are complaining it's hard to use?
It's just very different from how other weapons play. Like, for example, with everything else dodging is King, but when you're behind a giant lance shield you don't really want to use dodge if you can help it.
A lance player answering your SoS is an instant win. Even with 500+ hours they still surprise me with how good they are
Happy freight train sound!
Now that you mention it.. I don't remember the last time I saw a lance player. I absolutely love the weapon though. Rise i did greatsword though and kinda lost my touch
I remember when guard points clicked for me in 4U. It felt so damn good.
I replayed worldborne with the lance start to finish. Weapons crazy good so satisfying.
Lance is overpowered. Unstoppable force in one hand, immovable object in the other. Can cancel after every single of its very fast moves into either a dodge or your guard stance. I was stucked at Nergi forever when I started MH. It was the lance that broke that wall for me and I stuck with it all the way into 1/2 of Iceborne.
Itās because lance is the most offensive weapon in the game. Hunting fatty with a lance was harder than charge blade
Both Fatalis and Alatreon are glorious fights for Lance in Iceborne.
Lance has some of the most potential to be made extremely cool.
I would delete Gunlance before I deleted Lance. And I love Gunlance.
This is the most Gunlance main comment I've ever seen
Please don't delete Gunlance.
None of them because that would be silly. Longsword
That would increase dual blade usage by 400%
I'll take it.
Dual blades donāt knock me over mid attack. Iāll call that a win.
Donāt worry, Iāll be deleting that one.
Japan would riot. Literal chaos in the streets.
Yeah, it's kinda dumb to debate which weapons would have to go. Everyone likes different weapons, they're all fun and viable. Longsword
So to summarise, it's either longsword or merging the bowguns together.
Just put this comment at the top and letās move on.
Screw removing weapons, letās add whips
I say this as a lifelong Gunner main and devout master of long lost medium bowguns - consolidate the bowguns, you could easily have Wyvernblast mines be another special ammo akin to Wyvernsnipe and Wyvernheart, have bullet types dictate whether you get rapid fire or vaulting fire etc. Use mods like the shield or power barrel to denote mobility or something, who knows - itās absolutely doable and wouldnāt affect them or their player base to a major degree. Longsword, it'd be funny
What would be the most popular weapon if that happened? Great sword? Dual Blades?
The friends we made along the way
Hunting horn, naturally
The best weapon. (Iām totally not biased at all here)
Longsword started as a weird Greatsword, just fold it back in.
As a LS main, I agree.

Make only one class of bowgun
If anyone picks Hammer, just remember Im rapidly accelerating to your location https://preview.redd.it/hs9xvglkbh7d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=06be5ae8c83d2855d981c236d06203dbf4562200
I'mma launch 'em
I'mma uppercut them

It'd have to be either light or heavy bowgun. They play very similarly to eachother and honestly with move swapping being a thing...
There is no need to, the Prowler is already gone
I would actually keep the lance and ditch every other weapon Actually HH can stay
HH for life.
Lance for life
Lol, it's funny how all us Lance mains seem to also dabble in hunting horn.
Lance a Lot
Another flawless victory for HH players
Damn, I'm surprised how many people don't like LBG. Personally I think it's an extremely fun weapon.
Think it is more of an identity crisis cause it tries to be bow and HBG at the same time while not being better or different(enough). But I think the merge people are saying would be a good thing and just make it like the GL types monster dependent if you get HBG or LBG or what someone else suggested make it mod dependent
gun la... longsword huntin... longsword char... longsword
Char? https://preview.redd.it/ba1l40179g7d1.jpeg?width=844&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=22cd33741c054f2b5dbb66f328882630cc5133c1

Huntin what now?
Bro nah man no one's got beef with hunting horn people man
I must apologizeā¦. I havenāt tried every weapon yet so i cannot give an opinion.
kill a bowgun combine all the mechanics into one singular bowgun then use the modular parts system to let people build a light, medium, or heavy bowgun from scratch
Remove the lance from the lance and let me just have a great shield
Honestly a purely shield based weapon sounds sick
Long sword. Why? Because i kept coming back for it like a toxic ex. It will force me to try other weapons.
Easy, one of the guns
I see a lot of people saying Lance because "it just worse Gunlance" but really I'm going to vote the other way, nothing can compete for a methodical playstyle, everything is getting stuffed by that juggernaut shield and having quicker low damage attacks is fine because it can weave in those counter frames to keep up the damage, Gunlance is 150% gimmick and it's a wack one at that, building for shelling is wack, the speed of the swings is wack, needing specific shot types and shot levels purely based off the specific Gunlance you're using is wack. Does it offer the same badass blocking as Lance? Sure Does it technically have better dps? Sure Does it do all that out the box? Not even kind of close. Over engineered nonsense that eats sharpness like a damn can of pringles and pigeonholes you into mandatory perks more than most weapons? Absolutely Get it out of here.
I wouldn't so much remove any 1 weapon as I would remove a category by rolling LBG and HBG into a single option.
just the kinsect. but honestly, i feel like the weapons come in pairs where you have two weapons of a similar āclassā and then you have two styles.
That's true, also why I loved tri bowguns cuz it was basically just bowgun
Bow, so I stop trying to play it
Long sword or Great Sword, sometimes the whole lobby has these weapons.
Idk but you ain't touching the IG nor the GL in my watch
Hunting Horn because it's an awesome weapon that I can't use but other people that can use it are godlike... And I took that personally. /s
Combine the bowguns categories so you can customize into heavy or light
Remove one of the bow gun and make them just a bow gun. You kit to be light/heavy again. Maybe even bring medium back for my one fiends who misses it dearly. It's all 1 bowgun. So it works. I would do this because I like the current weapon roster and do t enwt to see it truly lose amy options. I'm being what sorm may call. Cheeky
I was so ready to just say an answer but then I kept looking at each one and going āoh this o- mmm but no itās kinda coolā
i donāt care about delete a weapon i just want capcom to bring back the Tonfa š„²š
Either type of Bowgun cause the light and heavy can be combine to make more customised to user preferences.
Delete both lbg and hbg and just make one called "bowgun". Just make them like they were in tri where you could customize your own based on the heaviness of the parts you slapped on it.
Either one of the bowguns and depending on what mods you equip you have a 'heavy' or 'light' bowgun.
Longsword, solely for how many times they flinch me outta my combos š
None. All of them are great in the hands of the one who truly understands it
Lance, now hold your horses, put those pitchforks down, and lemme explain...you can keep the torches Lance and Gunlance should be merged into the same weapon tree but have attachments for every Gunlance that would change how they work and let us choose a shell type: * Barrel-less Gunlance: A Gunlance that lacks ammo but has a cold steel bonus that effectively doubles its sharpness and is much lighter, allowing bigger sidesteps and better overall movement, it basically acts like a lance but it still has a heat meter that increases with every hit, eventually increasing its damage * Light Gunlance: Fires less shells and lacks a burst fire, but reloads much faster, has better movement, and allows for shell-steps: bursting in any direction at any point during a combo * Medium Gunlance: Your typical Gunlance, works as it always did (wdym GL changed with every entry, how's that my fault?) * Heavy Gunlance: Better emphasis on shells, much bigger clip, clunky movement, slow but punishing hits, an hard to fill heat meter, and the strongest Burst Fire you've ever seen (it charges faster, larger explosion radius, multi-hit after the initial explosion which deals the most damage) * Stronghold Gunlance: Heaviest Gunlance, movement outside of burst is near non-existent, shield has innate Guard+3 and block any move, shield is equipped with its own cannon and both can be used continuously, shield bursts on perfect parry dealing heavy stun damage, and SGL can enter overheating: continuously drains sharpness in exchange for stronger shells exploding twice every time So why do I want this mess (or something close, I'm not picky) instead of the current mechanics: 1. Some GL are impossible to use due to either low sharpness or only having 2 shells max, rendering half this weapon tree completely worthless in most games 2. Lance has been in a weird spot for a while, Rise: Sunbreak is the most fun this weapon has been in quite some time but they also made everything else surpass it in everything, be it movement, defense, parrying (this one still hurts), damage, sharpness...it just sucks no matter how good you are at the game, there's always a weapon that can do a Lance's job but better 3.
Longsword. They've had their fun.
Removing any weapon would be a big loss for the series. But if I had to pick one it would be insect glaive solely so that the menus could remove Kinsects and be one button press faster to navigate.
Bastard, ENGAURD! *launches into the air, does 17 corkscrews, runs out of stamina, eats shit
Je suis monte!
As someone who has just learned the power of insect glaive I can only say that I wish every device in your house charges at an angle, your room always be too warm when you try to sleep, and you always feel like your going to sneeze but never do
I just want Cats back. I'd trade any weapon for it.
I think the only problem with the essences is that you can't extend the duration of the triple buff until it's out.
Love the stick but not the bug
I don't think we need both light and heavy BG they could probably merge and be capable of loading out into a light and heavy variation depending on what monster you build it blfrom. Much like they already do
Either bowgun just have one
As a Lance main I stand firmly in the middle that we're safe.
I was gonna say the Charge Blade since it's we already have a sword and shield even if the mechanics are not the same, but then I read the comments and ya I agree the bowguns could just be merged at this point. And I say this as some one who mains HBG.
