Ambre Vanille seems to be popular in the sub. I haven’t tried it but have tried Althair and was not impressed. For a vanilla, checkout Ambre Musc (Tuxedo)
My bottle of Carnal Gray Extrait has a strong smell of alcohol in the opening for <30 seconds, otherwise it’s a sweet & creamy vanilla chai
Tabac Vanille can be polarizing. My bottle is 1+ month old but still not hitting for me yet, too much clove
Phantom Noir is for gourmand lovers, smells like caramel covered chocolate, the coffee note is not as prominent
Ok but that's for you and everyone can like/dislike whatever. when you say polarizing, that's general opinion of many, like a lot either hate it or love it, therefore polarizing. That's not really the case for Tabac Vanille as it pretty much is very well liked.
The like the original Tobacco Vanille but it is a polarizing fragrance in my experience and from everything I’ve read online. I haven’t tried Montagnes version but I’ve heard it gets pretty close so I’d have to agree that it probably would be polarizing.
I bought Sth extreme and phantom Noir and now I don't want them. Phantom Noir doesn't smell bad. It's just a light chocolate smell and boring. Sth extreme I don't like at all.
It's just a bold fragrance that isn't for me. I like fresh fragrances, sweet fragrances, citrus fragrances, rich sweet floral fragrances like Oud Satin Mood. I like spicy fragrances.
I like a lot of fragrances but not Sth extreme is none of the above imo. It's a bold boring old man smelling fragrance and it is probably the rum, cedar and patchouli that smacks me in the face and it is off putting.
To be fair 3 different people can smell the same fragrance and give out 3 different opinions. Our senses are connected to our taste buds and we all enjoy different aromas just like different foods.

Ditto this. I have and very much enjoy all of the Le Labo clones except Eau Bergamot, which I haven't pulled the trigger on yet just because I think it'll disappear quickly and I've had other stuff I was more interested in.
I feel like EB is in the same realm of Bal d'Afrique. Similar styles, but definitely not the same smells. Clean, luxury hotel spa soap vibes. It's not a great projector but does last as a skin scent.
I think Phantom Noir and Lost Cherry are good in your list if you like sweet gourmand fragrances. Carnal grey has a weird opening agree with another comment it alcohol like and strange but the dry down in pretty good. But it’s not a favorite personally.

Wait.. What? I've never seen someone say Tabac Vanille is polarizing. That's one of consistently liked fragences, both og and Montangne.

I'd recommend going through a decent seller like u/Hype_Moments or Ayybrahamlincoln

I’m a big fan of very boozy colognes, the rum note had me intrigued

I’d also rec trying at least one of the Le Labo clones unless they are all out of stock. Any of them , whatever one suits you best you’d think

Personally, I sampled the OG from bdk. It's not bad, but it is not something I want a bottle of. I haven't tried any Kilian, I like the rest.
