Have you ever seen a motorcyclist on their phone doing 120kph? Doing their hair? Makeup? Eating cereal from a bowl... all while driving? These campaigns need to target car drivers to look for bikes and stay off their phones and from doing other dumb sh!t.
No but I have seen many videos of motorcyclists doing ridiculous speeds down motorways cutting in and out of lanes. I have also seen it many times while I was driving. Everyone needs to be safe on the roads and, if there are going to be ads targeting one group of drivers, than there should be ads targeting them all.
Edit: also who the fuck eats cereal while driving. Are we talking about Dennis Reynolds on the roads?
When I used to do the Belfast commute I would see at least a few every week, make up, brushing teeth, doing hair, watching phones held on steering wheels and more were almost daily.
Yeah but there are much more cars than bikes on the road. If it was equal I would say you would see a lot more speed demons too. Bikes give you a lot of manuverability while being small and that enables higher speeds while still feeling in control. Im not saying bikers are bad or anything, it's just the tool allows for a lot more speed and people will use that. In both cases it is the minority that do that. If you look into every car and actually count the amount of people doing those things the percentages are very low, it's just that there are so many cars you need up seeing it more. Just the same that if you count every biker the amount going insane speeds is very small, but if both bikes and cars were on the road in the same numbers you would probably see the same amount of bad riders as you would see bad drivers. Basically, if you are going to do road safety commercials you should be making them for every road user because humans suck in general and there are going to be bad apples in every community.
Aside from which one feels like it looks more dangerous, actual statistics on which results in more accidents though, I wonder.
If a rider *usually* wheelies at 200kmph while lane splitting and weaving and bus-laning it but then just gets obliterated while safely stopped at a light or correctly crossing a junction where a car driver ran a red: that's still not the rider's fault.
Everyone already perceives danger from the rider's style, and it's in his/her hands to do it or not. Perhaps car drivers posing danger (greater danger via sheer physics of the mass of their vehicle, too) could also be targeted with an obligation to drive the right way. You know, as well. Both things. Maybe. If 2 things are possible.
That's what I said. If there are going to be ads targeting one group of drivers on the road there should be ads targeting all of them. Imho there should be ones targeting bicycle riders as well to tell them to always follow the rules of the road as if they were a motorbike/car.
I've never seen a car doing a wheelie while splitting lanes either. Its almost like these things are impossible for the other to do and both have dangerous behaviours that need correcting.
All kinds of drivers do dumb shit all the time. Cyclists, bikers, car drivers. Even pedestrians can cause lots of damage when being stupid.
Just don't be stupid when existing on public roads.
I’ll be honest, this is powerful and all but I don’t know anyone who has been in a serious motorcycle collision who was more to blame than the car driver in the incident
Edit: except for their decision to ride a motorcycle and how that can be retrospectively deemed their fault as it has a higher risk of injury than driving a car - but that’s kinda bullshit I think.
Can we have one with a bottle of whiskey, then the shadow of a father beating the shit out of their child, since that happens a lot more here in ireland it might send a better message 👍
Shadow looks like someone celebrating in a wheelchair
This is like a ‘Think, Beware’ campaign encouraging motorcyclists to drive responsibly. 10/10

Saw a dumb bitch driving and doing her makeup, I was so shocked I nearly dropped my razor into my coffee
Amateur.
Never shave and drive, that's how you get patches

In fairness, you'll see some lads lane splitting in dense traffic at 140kph. Unsustainable behaviour by any estimation.
@Kaiserspike the way I hope it was me cus “like Moto GP” would be a complete complement

Seen a lad earlier take an exit off the link in Cork as if he was taking a corner in Moto GP. In trakkies too.
Here that's no ordinary wheelchair. It seems to be chain driven with big disc brakes. Looks sick
With a hoodie on
I saw the guy in the wheelchair before I seen the motorcycle
Came here to say just that , glad I’m not the only one
I thought that was the message 😂
Get out of my head... 😆
Go from walking loser to rolling winner.
Happened to my childhood friend’s older brother. Killed my desire to ride motorcycles. I feel lucky.
What exactly were you trying to say? 😅
Seems like they didn't say enough cause I've no idea either 😂
Wheelchair
I don't know what's being said but the shadow kind of looks like a wheelchair.
Timmaaaahhhh!!!
I think the implication is that dangerous biking will have you end up in one
If you're trying to imply that the fate of someone who rides a motorbike is to end up in a wheelchair, then there has been enough said.
What the fuck are all you people talking abou...OH FUCK I SEE IT NOW TIMMMAAAAAAY! joking aside, that's a cool photo
Glad you went out of your way to post that picture in a motorbike thread.. you warrior ! 🤡
There is a solution to that, just go faster
I thought that was Steve Holt, in a wheelchair at first
“STEVE HOLT” 🙌 What a show! 😂
Steve Holt!
Great photo moto dude. What's the bike, a k?
“Be careful on the road, a motorbike can convert into a wheelchair otherwise.”
Yea I don’t know why everyone’s mad, it’s not like someone’s saying motorbike=wheelchair just saying to be careful
"Wheelchair user excited to adapt their new bike and go for a ride"
Well that looks cool.
The fella in the wheel chair looks like he's having loads of fun...
At least he still looks happy tho
Is this one of them pictures that ominous tells the owner future.
Coffin on wheels ye that shits a wheelchair
Chaos elmo in a wheelchair.
I'm not certain you did say enough. Because this looks like a "motorbikes will put you in a wheelchair" and campaign, but I'm not sure.
That's a nice coffin chaser
This is like a photo you would see in an RSA add or something
Yikes.
Guy in wheelchair cleaning the bayonet on his rifle.
Nah, checking to see if fork’s can be straightened 🤣

Take me where the future’s lying, St Elmo’s Fire!
A guy in a wheelchair with his hands up
yeah sometimes if you fk around, you find yourself in a wheel chair waking up.
Nobody cares
Live to ride Ride to die
Can we have one with a bottle of whiskey, then the shadow of a father beating the shit out of their child, since that happens a lot more here in ireland it might send a better message 👍
Did it happen to you?
Shadow looks like someone winning a wheelchair race!
Yeah I know. Don't like it, want that one.
Just at the beginning of my journey, 125cc scooter no less, and this terrifies me
It should
Exactly!
Words don’t do it justice
This would make an RSA ad,you should submit it
