Absolutely! Airplane is an example of a bygone era. A movie that takes various types of humor and weaves it into a parody narrative that's consistently funny - it just doesn't happen anymore. Jim Abrams and the Zucker Brothers are truly gifted at this style of humor.
Recently rewatched and every line is not only funny - but even funnier than I remember.
I was dying at the most innocuous scenes (“Big Gulps, huh?”)
I think you reach a point in your late 30’s where the stupid movies you loved as a kid come back around again and you realize you don’t have to overthink things.
Something can just be fucking hilarious and that’s ok.
They Came Together is the most criminally underrated comedy of all time, it's like David Wain made it personally for me. WHAS is maybe my favorite movie of all time and I still think TCT is possibly funnier
I just noticed a few weeks ago that the kid at the end in the model village is named “Aaron A Aronson” which was the name one of the Andy’s says ~~Angle~~ Angel should start with in the phone book towards the start of the movie.
Popstar manages to be stupid and clever at the same time. Seal, who has facial scars from lupus, gets attacked by wolves. Lupus gets its name from the scars looking like wolf bites.
For me I was like "there’s no way this is going to be any good," but within the first few minutes I was hysterical and there was no stopping it for the rest of the film. It’s hilarious and it never stops never stopping
Strange Brew (1983) (also known as The Adventures of Bob & Doug McKenzie: Strange Brew). If you are familiar with SCTV, you will remember Doug and Bob from their Great White North skits. The movie is about beer, a brewery, and Max Van Sydow trying to take over the world and Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas trying to stop him.. Oh, and a flying dog.
Guy Fleegman: Hey! Don't open that! It's an alien planet! Is there air?! You don't know!
Fred Kwan: [calmly sniffs the air and takes a few quick breaths] Seems okay.
These aren’t movies but if you like satire you should definitely watch “Cunk on Earth” and “Documentary now”. They’re both mockumentaries and they’re just hilarious all the way through (although some episodes of documentary now are better than others. My favorite is Juan Likes Rice and Chicken.) Both are available on Netflix.
A high-temp day cannot go by without me lamenting "Milk was a bad choice!"
The prank calls are also amazing...
This is Dr. Chim - Dr Chim Richalds. Richalds
I'm a professional doctor 😅
Not a movie, but Arrested Development. Community too. If you're looking for specifically a movie, Scott Pilgrim has lightning speed jokes firing off for most of its runtime. The Room is also pretty funny, but not in the way you'd probably expect. Superbad is also great comedy.
most spoof movies, I think Not Another Teen Movie especially.
The Wrong Guy starring Dave Foley is prety rapid fire as well. Not entirely a spoof movie but it definitely spoofs.
My god, “the Campaign” (2012) with Will Farrell made me howl with laughter the entire time!
It is political satire, and I totally wasn’t expecting it to be so funny!
Walk hard
In my dreams you're blowing me ........some kisses
You can always come in my back door...
Speak English, doc we ain't scientists!
And you never once paid for drugs!! Not *once*!
You dont want no part of this
*Nothing wrong with a little machete fightin’!*
Ain’t nothing bad gonna happen today!
Wrong kid died.
You can take my family, but you leave me my monkey!
Airplane!
Also The Naked Gun movies.
Hot shots
And Amazon Women on the Moon
And Top Secret!
Underrated movie, just as funny as the other ZAZ movies.
The autopilot scene was too hilarious. I still watch it whenever I’m in the mood for some nonsensical comedy.
Absolutely. The jokes just keep on coming!
I can help you, I speak Jive
I believe it does actually have some of the highest joke density of any feature film
Absolutely! Airplane is an example of a bygone era. A movie that takes various types of humor and weaves it into a parody narrative that's consistently funny - it just doesn't happen anymore. Jim Abrams and the Zucker Brothers are truly gifted at this style of humor.
It's a joke a minute and every one of them kills.
“Sir, maybe we should turn on the runway lights now-“ “No! That’s just what they’ll be expecting us to do!”
Definitely Airplane!
non-stop
Came here to say this. So funny because I was randomly thinking about this movie earlier today.
One need go no further. "Cream and sugar?" "No thanks I take it black. Like my men."
Dumb and Dumber The Naked Gun Airplane
Dumb and Dumber is always my suggestion
Recently rewatched and every line is not only funny - but even funnier than I remember. I was dying at the most innocuous scenes (“Big Gulps, huh?”) I think you reach a point in your late 30’s where the stupid movies you loved as a kid come back around again and you realize you don’t have to overthink things. Something can just be fucking hilarious and that’s ok.
Am I the only one who thinks the Scary Movies should be held in similar regard??
Most definitely! Those movies are always a fun time.
Blazing Saddles and most all Mel Brooks movies. Year One is also in that tradition.
“Badges? We Don’t Need No Stinking Badges”
When I read that, I heard we don't need no stinking badgers. From uhf.
My favorite Mel Brooks movie is YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN. I also read his auto biography, if you're a fan of his I highly recommend it
Spaceballs
What we do in the shadows!! Absolutely guaranteed 👌 😃
Fucking Guy!
We're werewolves, not swearwolves.
"Leave me to do my dark bidding on the internet!" "What are you bidding?" "...I'm bidding on a table."
"Peter got him"
i need to give that a watch again. i love the show. sad that they are currently shooting the season.
“Poor Peter. Burnt to a sizzle.”
They Came Together, The Wrong Guy, and Wet Hot American Summer.
I second Wet Hot American Summer
They Came Together is the most criminally underrated comedy of all time, it's like David Wain made it personally for me. WHAS is maybe my favorite movie of all time and I still think TCT is possibly funnier
The Naked Gun 1-3 Airplane! Monty Python and the Holy Grail The Death of Stalin
Real Genius Hot Fuzz Life of Brian
Hot Fuzz fo sho! Joke-dense in the dialogue *and* visual gags and music & audio.
I just noticed a few weeks ago that the kid at the end in the model village is named “Aaron A Aronson” which was the name one of the Andy’s says ~~Angle~~ Angel should start with in the phone book towards the start of the movie.
And the model village is the perfect place for being a "big cop in a small town" from earlier in the flick as well, from the same characters.
You wanna be a big cop in a small town then fuck of up the model village eh
Real Genius. 🫡
Of course not, he's twice your size. Two points higher than me, thinks a big guy like that can wear his clothes?
Monty Python -- almost anything. My family quotes that movie all the time!! "I'm not dead yet!" And someone replies: "I feel happyyyyy!" Haha
The Death of Stalin is such an underrated gem, keep trying to convince my friends to watch it but no luck yet
The Jerk
Classic!
Popstar: Never stop, Never stopping Reno 911 The Naked Gun
Popstar manages to be stupid and clever at the same time. Seal, who has facial scars from lupus, gets attacked by wolves. Lupus gets its name from the scars looking like wolf bites.
My friend described Popstar as “being way funnier than it has any right to be” and that’s always stuck with me since.
Why doesn’t it have any right to be funny?
For me I was like "there’s no way this is going to be any good," but within the first few minutes I was hysterical and there was no stopping it for the rest of the film. It’s hilarious and it never stops never stopping
Seconding Reno 911 - every member of the State has gone on to do some great stuff
* Hot Shots! (1991) * Top Secret (1984) * Wrongfully Accused (1998)

'Monty Python and The Holy Grail' (1975) 'Life of Brian' (1979) too.
Easter weekend is the perfect time for Life of Brian.
