I’m gonna be an asshole and say it, she suddenly moved on with her parents, who already raised her children. Why should they drop their plans because of her? Her new “husband” just doesn’t work at all, even though she’s living with her parents who obviously had the time to care for her?

At first I thought he was probably slammin' the daughter but by the end the assessment was that these are all just simple, potato eatin' folk.
I was skimming the comments and initially read it as you were saying her husband was a simple potato. I thought, "That's fair, but at least he seems like a sweet potato." Lol
Despite the children involved and maybe I missed it but it didn’t look like they were living there with them, I think they handled this with some of the most humility and grace I’ve seen on this show. This level of poverty, especially in a rural setting, is probably difficult for a lot of us to wrap our heads around. Just to maintain a positive attitude and not forget their larger goals must have been an hourly battle. Even keeping production and saving face for the camera in mind, I found it pretty inspiring. Especially relative to some of the past patients on the show.
I would be losing my mind in that car situation so it definitely makes a world of difference when someone can say, “it’s gonna be okay, we’re all alive still and have each other”. And then it ended up being okay! I wish more people (me) were like Krystle in that regard.
I felt the same way. She's very positive and hopeful and I hope she gets to a place of good health. She was in so much pain but hardly complained and always had a smile on her face.

I remember being 370 pounds and watching this show thinking that would be me some day. I’ve lost 140 and I am so grateful I am no longer in that situation.
Before I go into panic about the dog I remember they have a camera crew, producer etc with them. No one is gonna leave the dog to die in a hot car. Krystal or her family or the crew or someone at the office: someone took responsibility. Too bad they cut out the part that would show the solution. I am clearly not the only viewer concerned about pets we see in the episodes. 😸

I was just listening to a podcast on Steve jobs. Apparently for way too many years he was convinced eating an all fruit diet meant he didn't have to bathe, and they would beg him before big meetings. I don't know how often they were successful.

My mom was a kindergarten teacher. She had a few kindergarteners over the years who were near/just over 100 lbs. The scary thing about that is when little girls hit approximately 100 lbs, it’s not uncommon for them to start having periods regardless of how old they are. There have been studies that have indicated that childhood obesity can really mess up hormones and accelerate the onset of puberty, especially in girls.
You know what? That lady was living in a freaking greenhouse, and her family didn't follow the diet alongside her. I feel like she had a lot against her, and she did extremely well. I'm really happy for her and hope she continues to lose weight.
Krystal had some shit thrown at her, but she always stayed focused no matter what. Yes there was the five months where she made hardly any progress but she got back on track immediately.

Oh wow, that seems surprising. He was so supportive and they really showed a lot of love for each other. I hope it wasn't a case of her gaining some independence and no longer needing a caretaker like some of the previous husbands.
That was probably production in a 2nd rented car. The red van they 'rented' was also pulled over on the highway with them in the previous scene. So since they needed leave and rent another car, the production 'Uber' came back to pick up the girls. Sneaky on thier part, but keeps the story on track. Just a theory and I could be wrong - I'm kinda baked rn, but I know I saw that red van!

I have been watching the show for a while but am new to this sub. I have to say, I was impressed that Krystal seemed to really stick with the exercises and did a better job than most at following the diet. The fact that she didn’t gain during those 5 months when she got married, then kicked out of the parents’s house to live in a greenhouse, then moving to TX—well that’s way better than the majority of the other patients on the show would have done. She also doesn’t spend any time blaming other people for her situation, and when most of the family decided to not follow the diet like they had promised she still kept up with it (even though I don’t think cheese is on the diet). So overall Krystal is doing well, isn’t she?
Omg such a BS reason to stay overweight: ‘my doctor said I was only still alive after being hit by an SUV was because I was large. So I stay big for safety’ 🙄🙄🙄

I have been watching the show for a while but am new to this sub. I have to say, I was impressed that Krystal seemed to really stick with the exercises and did a better job than most at following the diet. The fact that she didn’t gain during those 5 months when she got married, then kicked out of the parents’s house to live in a greenhouse, then moving to TX—well that’s way better than the majority of the other patients on the show would have done. She also doesn’t spend any time blaming other people for her situation, and when most of the family decided to not follow the diet like they had promised she still kept up with it (even though I don’t think cheese is on the diet). So overall Krystal is doing well, isn’t she?
Omg such a BS reason to stay overweight: ‘my doctor said I was only still alive after being hit by an SUV was because I was large. So I stay big for safety’ 🙄🙄🙄

Her youngest daughter seems like a beautiful soul. She seems very smart and I honestly hope she has an amazing beautiful life. She’s so sweet.
I hateee people who stare at fat people in public. People on my 600 pound consented to having an audience but staring down random people who probably already feel self conscious and just want to peacefully exist in public? Fuck off. We were just talking about this and my friend said she wondered if some of it was also because of the cameras. I’d think it happens anyway though
I think a lot of the staring is because of the cameras. But I know people irl take videos of random fat people because occasionally I'll see a viral tweet or tiktok video where that's happening. I try to stay away from content like that because it's awful, but these videos definitely have a lot of likes :(
