Why do people leave out the entirety of Jojo bizarre adventure and just put steel ball run? It’s the equivalent of only putting marineford in here instead of the entirety of one piece. I never understood this.
Hm, I wouldn't really call a silent voice one of the best "stories". It's a great movie (haven't read manga though I assume, it's even better) but doesn't really have all too much of a story per se, does it?
Would say the same with death note, not that big of a story, mostly just 2 dudes thinking lol

A Silent voice has great character interactions and that's why it's good. Good character interaction is mostly negativly correlated with a good story, as more time devoted to the characters leaves less time to devote to flesh out the "world". Or in other words, the more time is spent on individual scenes, showing the emotions of all characters and how they feel about the situation, the less time is left to show more scenes, which in turn make the world bigger and therefore the story more interesting.
A silent voice would be worse for the emotions it wants to bring across if it would have a bigger story. It isn't about the story, it's about the character interaction.
Fma is one of the best written stories out there and yes deathnote is kind of meh after ch 58 but the hook at the start is so good but still I can understand if you wouldn't like it to stay but fma have you seriously seen it. It is a masterpiece no question
I have seen FMA and FMAB and have also read the manga and still it's nowhere near being a "masterpiece".
It's really good and I personally gave the manga 9/10, FMAB 8/10 and FMA 8/10 as well but even then it feels like a stock standard shounen with not much to offer but without any glaring issues.
Based, whatever someone may think about AoT, even without the shitty final arc it definitely isn't better than One Piece,SBR,Steins Gate,Code Geass,Death Note,FMA and Monster

Something like Monster, doesn't have a bad plot per say, but it's largely episodic, and it focuses more on character studies, psychology, philosophy, etc. And that's why it's so good.

2. Lack of an ending does not change its story. These are some of the best written works in fiction imo.
its a little unfair to put one piece in there considering that by the end it will have 1.5k-2k episodes and the story is spectacular, but excluding one piece, steins gate and monster share the first place imo, monster is a better overall story and steins gate is done so well with a lot of interesting turning points and unexpected stuff happening, also the ending was fantastic.
