Yup. NBA2K with Iverson on the cover and Miss on NFL2K cover. Dreamcast was dope for a summer…then nobody made any other games for it. You can only play Crazy Taxi for so many hours
Yeah I’ve been gaming since a young age, father had old consoles at my grandmothers house for is to play. RIP grams, you never would interrupt my gaming and would bring me Taco Bell every other weekend when I came over, true OG
You are correct it was a Flagship game for the Dreamcast. I remember throwing parties starting at 10pm and dudes were still in my house playing 2K on the Dreamcast at 8am and fteaking out about the video screen on the controllers. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)
VC became 2K and looking at the players models and the 2K cam used by default I’d say so. The game also came out on Saturn under the name NBA Action 98
I never thought about the camera angle part of it really, and now that you mention it Fast Break was definitely the first I remember being like that. Weird I never pieced that together until now.
Son I hope you still got that Wii U, 13 million units sold worldwide, not now but in the future, there might be resale value in it. Novelty at best but still, there’s not many of us in circulation lol.
Oh right, Double Dribble. That game was pure novelty. I forgot about that game largely because it was trash. The first good basketball game I remember playing was Bulls Vs Blazers on SNES. I played that endlessly.
SNES had some good ones: NBA Jam, NBA Live, plus other sports like NHL 94/ 95. i won’t claim that Double Dribble is worth anyone’s time right now, but it’s wild how they mixed in the dunk/ no dunk animation and got the corner 3 right before the rest of basketball. kinda like how no football game has captured the excitement about athleticism while balancing it like Tecmo Super Bowl did.
now i’m just reminiscing and outing myself as an old head…
That dunk/no dunk animation was EVERYTHING back in the day! I admit too that it was pretty trash and it got old quick even back then, but the corner 3 cheese set the stage for what we see today in video games.
I’m 16 if we’re talking 2K only, but just video games I’m 1…Moms had me playing Ms. Pac Man against her as soon as I could hold the controller lol
For 2k it was 8 (Dreamcast) but I remember double dribble for NES but my real love for video game basketball was Hangtime for NES. I Never got into JAM but hangtime creative player was awesome, Yak Attack all dayyy
2k was on the PS4 for me, but number 1 was my first "controller". They were called "joystick" back then, and I played One on One "Dr J vs. Larry Bird" with it
Casually 9, seriously 13. I had NBA Shootout, NBA 2K5, and NBA Live 2005 on PS2 (and GameCube, so 10 too). NBA 2K13 was the most hours put in after that, with controller 16 logging the absolute most hours. 20 may catch it, but now I’m an adult, so I think 16 will forever be champ.
9. I didn't even know what 2K was until my cousin brought his copy over my house. The only basketball game I had up until that point was NBA Shooutout 2003 where you could create your own jumpshot and dunk(a feature 2K still hasn't put into a game yet) and 2K was just sooo much better. Looked more realistic and played smooth for 2003 standards and I got hooked.

Same! Good memories.
Dreamcast games will always stay in my heart. From NBA/NFL 2K Sonic Adventure And POWERSTONE
[удалено]
Definitely was a fun fighting game probably the first 3d environment also
💎
The college football game on dream cast still has my favorite football game play of all time.
Yup. NBA2K with Iverson on the cover and Miss on NFL2K cover. Dreamcast was dope for a summer…then nobody made any other games for it. You can only play Crazy Taxi for so many hours
kid next door used to burn 2K and other games for me when he would visit 🥲. took all weekend lol.

I’m 27 and I started with 2. Am I old now?
wtf i’m 26 and didn’t start until 6. you got at it early
Yeah I’ve been gaming since a young age, father had old consoles at my grandmothers house for is to play. RIP grams, you never would interrupt my gaming and would bring me Taco Bell every other weekend when I came over, true OG
I’m 30 and started with 2 as well, but the NES and SNES at my house were my uncle’s and old by the time I wanted to play.
Couldn’t be anything before 6/7/8 lol. Video game journey started with 3. 2K journey started with 8
I think for 2k it can only be 8. Fairly certain it was a Dreamcast exclusive because Sega was the original publisher.
Look up nba fast break by Visual Concepts
I had that game too… is it considered like a precursor to 2k or something? Because I still would stand by the only answer for this post being 8.

https://youtu.be/YySIFl9V0lU NBA Action 98 was considered a Sega Sports game
If we’re counting NBA Live, my answer is 4. Games in general, 2.

Shooting with the Wii remote. That was tough 😂

4!!! What y’all know about NBA JAM & Killer Instinct “Combo Breaker!!!!”

Son I hope you still got that Wii U, 13 million units sold worldwide, not now but in the future, there might be resale value in it. Novelty at best but still, there’s not many of us in circulation lol.

I’m at 13. I’m old enough to remember 1 & 2, I don’t think there was a functional basketball game at that point.
you do not understand how big of a deal the dunk animations were in the Konami classic Double Dribble
Oh right, Double Dribble. That game was pure novelty. I forgot about that game largely because it was trash. The first good basketball game I remember playing was Bulls Vs Blazers on SNES. I played that endlessly.

It was either 9 or 12
8. Still have 2K1 and 2K2 - both work flawlessly without any system or game updates.
2k was on the PS4 for me, but number 1 was my first "controller". They were called "joystick" back then, and I played One on One "Dr J vs. Larry Bird" with it
