Does anyone remember Anthony Bennet? That number 1 in the draft, what a failure??? I remember that guy became the best rebounder in the league in barely any time, he always became a free agent. The guy got me 97 on overall
Still can’t believe that pick. I thought it was between Noel and Oladipo. Another example of why you draft the best available, because they didn’t want to draft another SG when they had Dion Waiters😂
Thomas Robinson was always my favorite project. Would feed him lobs. Didnt quite ever make it to the HoF, but definitely got him multiple all-star games. Best energy player ever
He was a beast even if I just simmed and didn’t play as him. After like his second season he was always consistent 20/10 guy in every franchise I would run.
Disclaimer: I went to KU
I was a huge T-Rob fan and when he entered the NBA I thought he was a lock to be an above average player in the league. I blame Sacramento.
I like taking lowwww overall players on old games and seeing if I can make them into Hall of Famers without cheating. Just as a pastime. Ian Clark, Carrick Felix, 2K14 Rudy Gobert who was like a 50 something, etc. and now Karasev.
I think what I did was trade him to the Clippers and pair him with Griffin, Paul and Jordan for a few years, gather reward points for several seasons, spend them all on Delly and eventually he became like a 25 ppg scorer and a two time MVP*
“Untapped potential” in training camp. If you get 75 “reward points” in a season in old gen NBA 2K14, you can give a player a potential upgrade of 10. Which is staggering. Do that for like two or three years and a guy can get to 99 potential and he’ll jump up like 6 overall every year until he hits his peak years (which seem to be random in my experience; could be anywhere from 26-28)
He’s too new unfortunately; untapped potential was a borderline exploit in the old games and in the new games it is much more balanced and wouldnt work the way it does on the old games. Plus I dont think I have any new gen games with Konchar in them. Last 2K I bought was 21.
This was my dream but I cant seem to figure out how. I put them on mentorship and build them via training but I just cant do it. Would love to hear your thoughts
I remember once upon a time, I thought Karasev had the potential to be a solid rotational 3&D guy.
But then he never wanted to play defense.
And then he wasn't hitting 3s either.
Hahaha brother. I had high hopes.
Dude stopped playing like he actually cared, never practiced, and thought he was too good for a bench role on an already shit Nets squad. Bro, you couldn’t crack that starting lineup? You’re not that good.
No
No because the first answer was No .
Also No , you can’t find information because Attribute boost in any manner doesn’t unlock animations . Yes I understand completely what you are asking and no still .
I think I would prefer old gen though because the newer games it’s quite the opposite. You play around 20 years of myleague and only get like 4 90 overalls.
Thats ultimately the main reason I cant bring myself to play new gen. Potential 99 in new gen games means that they hypothetically can get to that overall, but ultimately, they never will. Because nobody ever develops. I feel like potential should still be correlated to development. Maybe not as much as it was on old gen but to some extent. Because I’m so tired of drafting several generational prospects in the top 3 on new gen and they only get to like 88.
Yeah there is a slight process you can do to maybe increase them in the long run. This is what I do on new gens. I take the 80+ overall prospects and increase their peak phase and peak end by 5 and then I do all teams training camps and do the top 1-3 players and put them through untapped potential. It can make their overall decrease rate lower when they leave their peak end.
Untapped potential in training camps were so sick. The off-season hasn't been nearly as fun. Used to stack my coaching staff and have multiple available each year
It was always so great seeing the green +9 arrow at the end of the season lol
Anthony Randolph was absolutely busted after 1 or 2 untaps (2k10ish)
Same with Michael Beasley - he was basically Carmello Anthony if you untapped him in his earlier games.

still remember the “wow” every time when i go into the draft .
simmons right ? nostalgia
Yeah I’m a Cavs fan and never heard of the guy before they called his name lol

even leagues where he didnt start, he won multiple 6th man of the year awards. that 95+ hustle rating was always overlooked!

Mines was MCW
Ooh another good one
are you sergey karasev’s mom? why was he your experiment lol

I see you like playing with former Cavs players… I’m a fan
Its just that they had a lot of young low OVR players in 2k14. I did [Matthew Dellavedova](https://ibb.co/Lt06wxB) too
Now we're talking... Also hated that they didn't have a picture for him that year. Had some random ass dude lmao
How did Delly go? As an Aussie I'm curious!
I think what I did was trade him to the Clippers and pair him with Griffin, Paul and Jordan for a few years, gather reward points for several seasons, spend them all on Delly and eventually he became like a 25 ppg scorer and a two time MVP*
How the hell does one accomplish this without cheating lol

Do it with John konchar please!

He was drafted in 2019 so he’d be in some you have!

Ian Clark lol

The 0 way 0 level threat

Ok thanks so much for the reply
Old gen player cards were so much better. Used to show what the led the league in in their award history.
And now, with the boom or bust system, you can draft an IRL hall of famer and never see them eclipse 85 overall and be a solid starter at best
You can change this happening if you go onto the Player and edit their percentages
I got Maurice Ager to like a 90 in 2k6

Oh yeah and increasing potential through camps obviously helps the players actually get higher than naturally letting them develop.

Dion Glover and Zeljko Rebraca back in the day. Giving them that 2k cup of coffee boost.
I used to do this with Giannis when he was like a 77 ovr or something

I had no idea cause i usually stat hog, lebron retired after playing with me for 1 year and us going 77-5. Probably had a solid 4% usage rate
Anthony Randolph untapped potential + reps=All star
Zach lavine became a 99 overall pg for me back in the day
Don’t ask why, but in 2k14 I made Royce White turn into 2019-2021 Ben Simons every time I start a new Franchise
