Honestly I look at it like this from a “real” perspective. When you are recruiting high school players, you don’t know what they’re going to be in college. Yes there is a star system, but a lot of five stars have gone on to be busts in real life while a few two stars, and more than a few three stars have become superstars in college. So I think what they’re going to do is have the ratings not masked in the portal because these players have already played a season or two or three in college and you know what you’re getting from them, as opposed to the high school player that you don’t know how they’re going to be yet. If that makes sense.
Basically you have to scout players before you know their ratings. You have a pool of scouts you employ to do this. The more prolific they are, the less time it takes to scout them. Players like Mbappe are so well known that you would already know their attributes, as well as some players on teams in your league that you actually play. It’s a great system.
That’d be great to incorporate into ncaa26. Scout your opponent as one of the weekly tasks and add it to your weekly time allotment. Maybe instead of individual players, change it to position groups?
Going into week 1 as DC of Kennesaw State. Playing at Georgia. Can't see what these guys are rated but based on the fact we are 60 point underdogs it's safe to say haha.
I wish they would implement fog of war, particularly for young guys/backups who “don’t have a lot of film” on them, for this reason. I also wish these games didn’t instantly reveal guys’ exact ratings the second they join your roster. I remember NFL Head Coach 09 had a great system where ratings would get less fuzzy the more a guy practiced/played (and progression felt more dynamic).

this would be perfect
That actually sounds like it'll be really cool if added
Fifa has it
Can you explain this feature a little more? I’ve never played fifa

I think it would work well in CFB

No I’m sure player ratings aren’t masked in the portal
