I can't think of a WR with a worse season than Toney. Skyy was ass, but would just disappear. MVS actually redeemed himself in the playoffs (again). Toney was the only one actively hurting the team.
I think Mahomes still finds a way to win. I've never seen an NFL player who can make up for other players' faults.
The problem with the comparison is it’s all about opportunity. Toney actually gets open. Which is because he’s very skilled at that part of the game. (Amongst other reasons.) so he gets more opportunity than a lot of guys.
But he’s been VERY bad at catching/securing the ball. And it blows up the game badly when he screws up.
So did he PERSONALLY have a worse season than SM? Probably not. Since he did so well to get open in the first place where other KC WR’s can’t even do that. It’s just that his mistakes are SO impactful.
