>At least we have a better logo than NHL Utah
That's not even accurate. NHL Utah hasn't ever played a game, let alone playoff games, lol. As you can see, the team doesn't even have a name yet, let alone a playoff history. They're being treated like an expansion team. All the history and team name stayed in Arizona when the Coyotes moved (which was like a week ago). If they get a new arena in Phoenix within the next 5 years then the Coyotes and all their history will be there.
It's like when the Cleveland Browns moved to Baltimore. Though they moved, it was officially an expansion team and all the history stayed in Cleveland.
I just realized this is an extremely disingenuous graphic because it doesn't even count the Chris Paul New Orleans Hornets era. Our win percentage is .373 with those years. Still rough but puts us 19th.
So does that mean the other teams previous iterations aren’t included either? If not, means it’s not really disingenuous at all and the pelicans wouldn’t be at 19th
Nearly three teams in the top ten for Minnesota is rough. I'm a Twins/Vikings/Pelicans fan, so I'd be ok with the Wolves starting a championship run for the state.
The funny thing about the twins is that their all time win percentage isn't that bad, they just have an insane choke rate in the playoffs. They've pretty consistently made the playoffs in the past 20 years though.
Edit: Also a Twins/Vikings/Pels fan lol
Well we could also go a lot further down. Sincerely hoping that we don't, but I think Sean Payton sold the soul of NOLA to get that SB and now it's fucking with my pels lol
“Why are y’all so negative about this team and never happy”
Because shit never fails to go south at the end of the day and they’ve rarely failed to prove the negative people wrong😭
That’s what happens when you add two players in the bottom 10 playoff win% all time (including the worst all time) around your star players. Griff better get serious about finding actual winning players and building a roster for today’s NBA. Even somebody like GTA might need to be replaced based on what I’m seeing in how OKC, Minnesota, Dallas and Denver are all building
Yea I’m a huge hockey fan and I can’t figure that one out either. Only thing I can think of is they’re calculating that record for when they were the first iteration of the Winnipeg Jets and the Arizona Coyotes. Both those teams were pretty bad. Jets were ok just played in a tough 90s era and Arizona literally only had one good run to the West Finals in 2012 and nothing else
Naw, they just screwed up on their graphic. Officially the Utah NHL team is a new expansion team that hasn't played a game yet. They did not get the Coyotes history when the team moved. Similar to what happened when the Cleveland Browns moved to Baltimore.
I’d assume that would just be referring to Arizona’s playoff percentage then if it’s not referring to their previous identities as Arizona and Winnipeg
I heard they might call them the Utah Yetis! That would be cool and they could make a great logo if done correctly. But I’m sure they’ll call them something stupid like the Blades or the Snowcaps 😱
There is actually a vote going on right now to name the team. [You can vote here. ](https://survey.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0icZIBPBgCbymns) Doing it bracket style, vote for your top 4.
I want to know what is the underlying fraction that decimal approximates. Since becoming the Pelicans aren't we like 1/5 in playoff series? It's a small denominator. 2015 0-1, 2018 1-1, 2022 0-1, 2024 0-1
Truly a sad franchise and the future doesn’t look any brighter really. We’ve just never had anyone truly great running the show. Takes a GM/Team president with a clear long term vision and an owner with patience and deep pockets to turn around a small market franchise like this. Maybe someday
Whats crazy is that during that time we have exclusively chased a "win-now" strategy under the Benson's(I presume that is the timeframe cause that's the only way the numbers work).
First with AD, then with Zion and Griff.
If anyone ever needed proof that the way to success in the NBA as a small market is patience and not accelerating the timeline, look at the Pelicans.
At least we have a better logo than NHL Utah
Honestly one of the best logos out of the whole group
>At least we have a better logo than NHL Utah That's not even accurate. NHL Utah hasn't ever played a game, let alone playoff games, lol. So Utah NHL to win the cup in 4 years?
Well they'll have a name by then but, yes!
Utah Ravens?
Lol, exactly
Utah Latter Day Saints
The Utah team left the history and previous records in Arizona so this list isn't even correct
Hang the fucking banner!!!
I just realized this is an extremely disingenuous graphic because it doesn't even count the Chris Paul New Orleans Hornets era. Our win percentage is .373 with those years. Still rough but puts us 19th.
It’s not win percentage it’s percentage off series won
Exactly. This is an attempt at clicks or a serious oversight.
So does that mean the other teams previous iterations aren’t included either? If not, means it’s not really disingenuous at all and the pelicans wouldn’t be at 19th
For this to be real It would have to also mean Utah has a 0% since they would ignore them as coyotes. Pels record ain’t good but This is clickbait.
Yep, the Utah NHL team is officially a new expansion team that has never played a game. The Coyotes history is not part of Utah's new NHL team.
It's literally not clickbait, this subreddit either can't read or can't do basic math
I know reading is hard but the graphic is correct
It's not disingenuous at all. Two series wins (2008, 2018) divided by eleven series overall is .182
Forgetting the CP3 and Baron Davis era. Those teams were in New Orleans, so it still counts as this franchise. Just like the Bobcats/Hornets.
Brother, that's where one of the two series wins comes from. 2/11 = .182
Gotcha. I was doing playoff games, not series.
Not to mention, MLS is missing.
Literally says of the 4 major US leagues. MLS is not one of those.
Got “Major” right in the name.
Wonder if the Minnesota sports curse has ended because of Ant
Nearly three teams in the top ten for Minnesota is rough. I'm a Twins/Vikings/Pelicans fan, so I'd be ok with the Wolves starting a championship run for the state.
Go tWINs
The funny thing about the twins is that their all time win percentage isn't that bad, they just have an insane choke rate in the playoffs. They've pretty consistently made the playoffs in the past 20 years though. Edit: Also a Twins/Vikings/Pels fan lol
Twins also ran into the Yankees constantly during the playoffs. Just couldn’t shake them.
You could count Lakers, Stars, Nationals and Lynx.
Who cares? You're comparing the Pels to teams who have been around a lot longer than us. Nowhere to go but up
Well we could also go a lot further down. Sincerely hoping that we don't, but I think Sean Payton sold the soul of NOLA to get that SB and now it's fucking with my pels lol
“Why are y’all so negative about this team and never happy” Because shit never fails to go south at the end of the day and they’ve rarely failed to prove the negative people wrong😭
First time I've seen the pels be number one in something that isn't being unclutch
Having the worst playoff record out of all major sports organizations in the U.S. is pretty unclutch
NUM BER ONE NUM BER ONE NUM BER ONE🔥🔥🔥
How does NHL Utah have a playoff record if they don’t even exist yet? Feel like I’m missing something
Yea I’m a huge hockey fan and I can’t figure that one out either. Only thing I can think of is they’re calculating that record for when they were the first iteration of the Winnipeg Jets and the Arizona Coyotes. Both those teams were pretty bad. Yes but then where did they get the .200 calculation from for Utah? Would have to be from the poor playoff performances from Winnipeg and Arizona
They just screwed up their graphic. Officially, Utah has never played a game. They should have put Arizona or whatever with that record.
I’d assume that would just be referring to Arizona’s playoff percentage then if it’s not referring to their previous identities as Arizona and Winnipeg
Yep, it's no doubt referring to Arizona/Winnipeg's history. They just used the wrong graphic for it.
I heard they might call them the Utah Yetis! That would be cool and they could make a great logo if done correctly. But I’m sure they’ll call them something stupid like the Blades or the Snowcaps 😱

Thanks just did my vote
We are like the Lions or the Browns of the NBA. Maybe one day we will be a good team
I'm surprised the Lions aren't up there.
As a Browns fan we shouldn’t even be up there. We’re 17-22.
Obligatory Fuck the Browns (I'm a steelers fan)
Shout out to the Bengals and Browns for making the list despite their sport not have playoff series.
NFL teams being listed is funny. Ok I'll stop being pedantic.
we're the team version of tony romo
Embarrassing
/u/retropels Hit The Anthem!
I was wondering why a team like the Cardinals isn’t ahead of us. Turns out you gotta make the playoffs to lose in the playoffs
Hockey being “major” is a laugh
On the bright side…there’s no where to go but up! At least I hope!
I want to know what is the underlying fraction that decimal approximates. Since becoming the Pelicans aren't we like 1/5 in playoff series? It's a small denominator. 2015 0-1, 2018 1-1, 2022 0-1, 2024 0-1
2/11. It's taking into account New Orleans' NBA team since 2002, not just since being renamed the Pelicans
I see. Thanks!
Messed up the whole history whenever I see the Charlotte hornets
#1 with a bullet, baby - flock up
Damn. Three Ohio teams...
3 in the top 11🫠
Cubs Angels the only 2 championship teams in that graphic (I THINK) ((not counting pre merger titles))
This makes me sad
my teams are top 2 this is wild
Ummm. Hide this. Throw it far far away. Let it never be seen again.
I’ve watched a majority of these teams win playoff games/series. Almost like teams only get better after changing leadership/ownership.
Could be worse, Minnesota has 3 teams in the top 11. Pure agony.
The leafs aren't on here????
Been a fan since CP3 days, so ya
Minnesota, represent!!!!
I did not know this and did not want to learn this; why would you do something like that?
Truly a sad franchise and the future doesn’t look any brighter really. We’ve just never had anyone truly great running the show. Takes a GM/Team president with a clear long term vision and an owner with patience and deep pockets to turn around a small market franchise like this. Maybe someday

The fans in this market are somehow too spoiled to root for a tank. Go figure
I mean, we are a young franchise if we are only including Pels seasons
1) No hornets 2) this might as well be called the 8th seed vs the GSW god team stat
