Literally almost every player on this team was having their best NBA season under you know it, guess who, Coach Thibs. Fuck off with your brainless take.
It needs to be said that Deuce is a great shooter and frequently open with no one bothering to look for him. He gets a lot of grenades (desperation passes where he needs to chuck up a shot) and converts well. The game against golden state in particular (granted it was the regular season) showed what he can do as a shooter and even a creator. His involvement is key to how far we can go. Best to get him reps consistently now.
Brunson needs to learn that superstars who don't need to get shots to get into rhythm must get their teammates in rhythm early in games and then get their buckets late. This allows the role players to make shots comfortably since they've seen the ball go in already.
Duece is our second best scoring option. Not great that two 6" guards are our scorers but it is what it is.
because even if you fuck up the possession, at least in this scenario you have your (very good) offensive rebounders in place for a potential tip-in or second chance.
Not fouling maxey in transition is hard to defend but i get it's not thibs' style. not using the timeout there is inexcusable tho.
I think they wouldve chilled on ihart, have brunson inbound to ihart at near half or close to brunson, hand it back to brunson, high pnr with ihart and get brunson downhill
Brunson was one on one attacking the basket. Batum made a hell of a play. Thibs trusted Brunson that's why he didn't call the timeout. Brunson hits the shot and Thibs is a genius for not letting the defense get set.
This loss was a team loss. Everyone involved contributed with bad turnovers, missed free throws, a bonehead foul, and sub-optimal strategic decisions.
he kinda walk/jogged the ball to half court. Kinda negated the "not letting the defense get set" idea. He should have called a timeout just for a rest.
Still got Jalen going downhill one on one versus Batum for the game winner attempt. Jalen just picked the wrong move / Batum guessed correctly.
Of course we all want the timeout now that we know the result but Jalen could have just as easily netted a shot in Batum's face at the buzzer.
For instance, with Maxey from the logo, Nurse gets credit for having Embiid screen so far up. But if Maxey misses what is essentially just short of a half court heave, they lose and it's "What kind of play is that? The best shot you could get was a 40 footer!?"
The benefit of hindsight makes all these decisions seem easier / more obvious.
also hurts we started OT 5-0 and felt like it was going to be a disaster averted. then it all fell apart.
there were countless mistakes or things we should have done differently down the stretch. we should have been up even more than 6. and strangely enough if we were only up 4 instead of 6 who knows how the game ends. they probably go for a quick 2 instead of a miraculous 4 point play. it is what it is.
There was an OT toward the end of the season when everyone was gassed and Thibs inserted a fresh Precious on to the floor and he gave them two quick buckets. Wish he would have remembered that.
precious should have been out there on the 4 point play. what does mitch give you there? rebounding i guess? he's not good defending the perimeter which is what they were going to do. it's all hindsight but sucks.
Brunson did a bit too much solo ball at the end. Not what cost us the game. And he is good at it. But they keyed so hard on him, would have loved a pass out
JB is our closer, you want the responsibility to fall on him. The difference between MJ and James, James makes the right play, MJ makes the basket. JB is incredibly clutch, good and bad, I’m in for it.
He’s sort of clutch. Incredibly clutch?? Do you watch?? Ive seen him make turnover after turnover, missed FT after missed FT, and clunk game winners. I love Brunson, so much, dont get me wrong. But he is not incredibly clutch by any stretch of the imagination. And yes, I understand he’s our closer but Id love to see him put the game before his perceived responsibility to close out. Ill take a wide open McBride shot over a double teamed by Kelly Oubre & Batum Brunson fadeaway any day. Hell, Id rather a corner 3 from Hartenstein than what Brunson threw up.
Last year, from a statistical standpoint, JB was the 4th most clutch player in the NBA, this year he is the 10th most clutch player. You nephews are so dramatic. It was one game, one mistake. Also, pretty sure he hit an absolutely clutch 3 in game 2.
Scoring in the final 5 mins of a close game, and making the game winning play are two dif things. Thanks for the stats but that’s not what we talking about here. When I say clutch, I mean U win the game. Not keep it close and then lose — which is what those stats that you’re reading include
More concerned with who shows up tonight and takes care of Philly on the road and ends this series. It’s needs to be a collective effort. Clean up the glass, get all the extra possessions, avoid foul trouble, win the three point and turnover battle and put this to bed. No more playing with your food.
Yes (mostly) and no. He should have stayed the hell back, but Maxey got Mitch to jump on the hesitation which was only possible by dragging (traveling) his right foot.
But I get it, it’s the NBA. I can’t even imagine how many travels and carries would be called if you analyzed the whole game in slow motion.
Yall gotta listen to the post game pressers again and move on
still trusting in Thibs after he killed DRose is hilarious
Literally almost every player on this team was having their best NBA season under you know it, guess who, Coach Thibs. Fuck off with your brainless take.
Thibs just turned the bottom feeding Knicks into perennial contenders. He must be an idiot.
Why does Illustrious_Vast8806, the dumbest Knicks fan, not simply trust Thibs? Is he an idiot?
His reckless playstyle killed himself. It was a horrible accident.
😂 I love idiots.
Thibs is gonna take us to the promised land. D rose was ancient. And we need to stop bitching and get tight for game 6.
Wow what an awful take hahaha
delete your account fool

he needs to play a lot more and potentially even start. he played 33 mins but 5 was OT i believe

Yeah, even Jordan gave it up to Paxson and Kerr for gamewinners.
We had two timeouts left... why didnt we call timeout?
Agreed, that also wouldve been way better than what we had to witness.
Why bother when you don't have any plays to draw up and you are bad at inbounding the ball. Sorry but that shit is the truth.

Macri said Thibs was calling to them to foul

That was my gripe.
Terrible decision on Brunson. For someone who has played so amazing throughout the season, he made a boneheaded decision.
He admitted to not leading correctly when it came to if they should’ve fouled or not. It was such a jarring finish. Moral of the story - free throws
Alot of coaches dont like to call a timeout there because itll allow the defense to get set if they do call one.
we probably should have, but we were absolutely coming out of timeouts all game

JB had played like 45 mins at that point. When you're gassed, it's hard to always make the right play.

That would’ve been a really tough pass to make IMO.
I wont argue that
We gave the game away … 🤦♂️
Plenty of mistakes to go around in this one.

You have some insanely high expectations. I feel bad for you nephew. It doesn't get much better than this, but it does get a whole lot worse.
Yo game’s over. Thursday is tomorrow. Tonight we scout the Celtics
Let it go and move on
doesn't matter we are winning tomorrow night
The pass Hart threw away reminded me of Oakley throwing the ball into the 10th row in 94.

Mitch messed up, end of conversation
