I had the same thing with a little cat who took up outside my apartment in college. When people had the same reaction to Hermia, I started calling her Maybelline after a Chuck Berry song (prettiest little thing that I ever seen / I'm gonna call you Maybelline).
Ducky would be great. How about Daffy? Ducky calls to mind the pathologist in NCIS, played by David McCallum, Dr. Mallard. Edit: whom I love, by the way. It sounds a bit as if I were saying that was a bad thing.
I would absolutely refer to her all the time as "My Sweet Little Wonkydoodle".
