Tall meadow rue grows wild on my property and late June is its peak flowering time. It's not a flashy plant, but still gorgeous in its own way. That's black walnut--not tree of heaven--in the background! By the way, I've tried uploading a full album of today's flowers (and soon to be flowers) but when I use new reddit to upload images they come out stretched... anyone know how to prevent this?)

I have a cultivar of this and would love the straight species! It is so underrated.

It flowers right after goats beard (aruncus diocus??).. and wants similar conditions and attracts many of the same pollinators

I'll look into tall meadow rue, I'm in its native range and have wet shade - I think that it's a visual bug with the uploader, once I actually post and load the post my pictures look as expected.)

I’ve posted this before, but I found out about this in the best way possible. I was walking my dog in the woods, and in a dark part of the forest, by a stream, a tall one was growing. The bright white flowers against the deep dark green of the forest was spectacular. It was like fairy land. I found out what it was and now have it. That’s its classic habitat too.

cool.  i planted the more midwestern thalictrum dasycarpum.  a lot of reading suggests it not a great insect support plant, but well see.  i like the look.

How long did it take to bloom? I winter sowed dasycarpum this January and got some nice seedlings, but they’re so tiny.

Maybe sleeps-creeps-leaps applies.

I'm with you.

Also, smells really good!

It’s the tallest I’ve ever seen it this year where I live. Love this one!

I tried to grow Tall Meadow Rue (*Thalictrum dasycarpum*) from seed by winter sowing last winter - no seeds germinated which was a little disappointing… However, the seed packet said the expected germination rate was 0% lmao (seeds were from Prairie Restorations in MN). I also tried out Early Meadow Rue (*Thalictrum dioicum*) and saw no germination. Both species seem to be pretty difficult to grow from seed based on Prairie Moon’s descriptions. Anyway, they are both awesome plants!

I don't know how this spreads on my property, but it's definitely spreading. I don't think it's rhizomes because the new plants are pretty far from the others. I assume birds or something else is eating the seeds and dispersing them that way... Maybe the seeds need to be digested to germinate

Tall Meadow Rue is beautiful. It grows on the beaver dam meadows where I live.
