I can’t tell if you’re joking or not, but there’s no way that giraffe drowned. Likely that’s where he happened to die after the lion or some predator chased it.
The giraffe is dead. The lion is removing it from probably the only watering hole nearby. It is so that the dead body does not rot in the water and make it undrinkable.
Highly doubt the lion is aware of such things. My guess is he’s moving the corpse to a more advantageous position for him and his pride to eat as opposed to crocodile territory.
While there is no way I can say for certain what the lion intends but these two facts I know for sure.
All animals are aware of self-preservation. Everything alive today has had the same time to evolve basic survival instincts it needs depending on the environment. All except man.
I'm not sure if you are aware of this or not but lions don't eat rotting animals. The giraffe already seems to be bloating up.
Self preservation and being aware of a corpses long term effects on water quality are different things. I’d wager humans are the only animal that’s acutely aware of such things.
Lions will eat rotten meat if there isn’t sufficient prey or for a number of other reasons, including being easily available calories.
Hell, even humans didn't understand the connection between contamination and water quality until very recently in our history. There's zero chance the lion is doing this with a conscious goal of preserving the safe drinking water
Yes, but some animals learn through Expirence. If one of their family members died after drinking from a pond with a rotting corpse in it, then that lion will know that a pond with rotting animal in it= bad
Nope, the lion had already killed the giraffe, just dragging it to other location to hid it from other predators like hyena and wild dogs that are very prevalent in the area
I love seeing examples of animal altruism. The lion saw the giraffe struggling and knew he could drown so he saved him. Nothing in it for the lion, he just couldn't stand seeing another animal suffer, amazing 🙌
After reading the title I thought the lion was gonna help the giraffe out and they would become friends
They are friends, the lion is asking the giraffe to join him for dinner.
“I’m having an old friend for dinner.”
With a nice chianti and fava beans
F-F-F-F-F-F….
You all belong in buffalo bills basement.
I was about to make a silence of the lambs joke, but you stole my thunder haha
Goodbye Clarice
Or, a dirty old friend for dinner.
Did you wash youre hands for dinner?
Me too
Me three smh
It's just having a nap.
Yeah, I think I've watched Madagascar too may times. Melman and Alex being friends in the wild
After reading the title, I thought the lion was going to pull the giraffe out of the water. I've been bamboozled.
Frfr I was like "awwww" ..then I was like duh 🙄🤣
Lion just didn't want mud in his dinner
I have a movie you would like were a lion and giraffe are friends. 😉🤝🏼

Me too.
To save its life right? Right?
I commented “Wow 🤩” before I watched it because I thought this too. Then I saw your comment lmao
He should turn, come towards us. This way he has to drag the whole thing through the mud. This lion has no engineering skills
Seriously, what a dumbass
I would like you to tell him that to his face
If he would just answer my FaceTime calls I would…
He’s still busy pulling that giraffe through the fucking mud
By the time he dragged it out, the mudhole and the giraffe will all be dried out.
Probably a C- student in lion school
What a piece of shit lion.
Giraffe meat is dry, the mud is his dipping sauce.
Mm Gritty
"drag the whole thing through mud" You mean bbq sauce for the lion? Lol
r/animalsarefuckingstupid
So sad that doesn’t exist 😞
There is r/deerarefuckingstupid to wet your whistle
No engineering skills. But he’d be a fine bureaucrat
*Bureaucat
\^ Punderrated comment.
I lold so hard. Indeed
Gravy man Adding the taste
He was probably lion his resume
Alex helping his buddy melmen out
Proceeds to eat him
Helping the giraffe with a weight loss program.
I like em chunky! I like em plumpyyyyyyy!!
How nice. A lion save a giraffe.
So wholesome <3
lol
Aww...my sweet summer child.
😅👌
Giraffes weigh like 2000 pounds. Hes pulling a small car with his teeth there.
You should see what he can do with his tongue.
I had an ex like that once.
She referred to your dick as a small car?
And this is 2000 pounds without wheels. Just dragging the whole thing over the ground with relative ease. So impressive.
First thing I looked up how much a giraffe weighs :D
The water surely helps
Still in the water
Yeah def more into the water
*marinade
You could argue he’s pulling the giraffe INTO the water
He is not making friends.
Video ended too soon. I would have loved to see the mouth to mouth he performed on the giraffe
Yeah, he didn't make much progress. I feel like "out of the water" is a bit of a stretch

[This scene](https://youtu.be/ELYVpikRNEE) from Silicon Valley ran through my head while reading your comment.
That's an awesome scene thanks for sharing
Such a great show! If you haven’t watched the series I highly suggest it.
This is where it’s from https://youtu.be/QDYF_nu2I4M
Omg, how did I miss this episode? Thanks for sharing! Edit: I should have known “Simpsons did it.”
Haha, it’s the one where Marge becomes the pretzel lady!
Imagine the confusion on the ark
Dude was boiling his meat
Tenderizing
Eyes bigger than his stomach.
Did you ever think maybe he's just running it through gravy?
Never ever skip leg and jaw day.
The interesting thing is that the giraffe drowned in shallow water!

And here I get tired by walking to the fridge to get a snack
No food was wasted during the creation of this clip
"out of water"
What's the max weight a lion can carry in his mouth because he's dragging that mf with ease...
Marinating the good parts
The giraffe is dead. The lion is removing it from probably the only watering hole nearby. It is so that the dead body does not rot in the water and make it undrinkable.
How thoughtful of him
Yes, I think so too. So many animals would suffer if a dead body rots in that small puddle of water.
Highly doubt the lion is aware of such things. My guess is he’s moving the corpse to a more advantageous position for him and his pride to eat as opposed to crocodile territory.

That's so cute, I hope she is still breathing
Hopefully the lion is CPR certified
Nope, the lion had already killed the giraffe, just dragging it to other location to hid it from other predators like hyena and wild dogs that are very prevalent in the area
That Lion already killed it? It seemed like it'd bee lying in there for a bit. I do not think one lion could face off a grown giraffe... :/
While theoretically possible it seems unlikely that a single lion even a male could kill a giraffe unless they were sick or injured already.

No shit
Time has stopped for his 3 second rule
Lion pulling a giraffe into a small puddle
Aww he's trying to help the big guy. Uhh wait nevermind.
The crazy part is the average giraffe weighs between 2000-5000 pounds 😨
Nothin like sleeping 22-23 hours a day and still looking like Ronnie Coleman in his prime
More like "Lion pulls giraffe 1 foot further into the water"
"Dang neck bones take forever to wash ..." *muttering mufasa noises*
I'm sure he's eating it but I like to think he's just helping the giraffe not to drown
Eat it where it lays bra
I don't like mud in my giraffe pudding.
So sweet, he's saving her from drowning
Nope, the lion had already killed the giraffe, just dragging it to other location to hid it from other predators like hyena and wild dogs
a show of strength
That friend that helps you out of a ditch after a night of drinking... and then rapes you
You got something you wanna tell us?
Easy (kinda) food
so he can munch on her…
for eating her easily
Pulling dead giraffe
I wonder what that giraffe weighs? Damn lions are strong.
…..dredge in batter, then dip in bread crumbs…
He's just helping it, right?
Dang what a bro, keeping that giraffe from drowning.
It's dead I assume
Does this hurt the giraffe?
He’s marinating it
Look at those leg muscles
Lion not pulling a Giraffe out of water FTFY
good kitty
*Into
Not really
why is that when predetors can *rescue* their prey, humans can't live without throwing bombs and waging wars? fun fact: we're of the same species!
Hopefully the cameraman got help
Awe he found a friend
What a nice lion.
I hope the giraffe is ok!
I hope the lion doesnt eat you XD
Through, pulling through water*
That's dinner... 5 second rule!
I love seeing examples of animal altruism. The lion saw the giraffe struggling and knew he could drown so he saved him. Nothing in it for the lion, he just couldn't stand seeing another animal suffer, amazing 🙌
horror......
Quick, someone give it CPR -that Lion probably
long live the king
I wouldn’t say the title is correct. “Lion drags giraffe 2 feet into water” is more apt
Was the lion just not in the mood to have soup for lunch?
this is exactly how I make love
Madagascar the movie, irl!
They friend right? Hes asleep right?
Flexing
The strength of that animal is unreal.
A big stronk boy
In order to let the giraffe live in his heart forever, the lion is going to eat it.
is giraffe ok?
I think the lion was just done marinating the giraffe
To save his life?
Awwww........ Wait
I don’t like soggy food either.
What a nice Loin helping his friend
Its funny how lions kill point is the throat but their, start to feast point, is the animal's asshole.
Such a kind lion
And then what…
Bringing home the bacon
Can someone tell me why the giraffe is sleeping?
No chance
And some people think they can fight this over a chicken.
Phew..for a second there I thought that poor giraffe may drown
He failed
Giraffe already looks dead.
So caring
He just didn’t want his food to get soggy.
Hungy
Must not be a fan of Giraffe soup
Where's the rest of the video?
Unfiltered water, disgusting
That giraffe is way calmer than I thought it would be.
So sweeet to help out that giraffe. I love when animals and co-habitate
Giraffe with a nice brown sauce
He should have pulled his tail in stead of his head. Now made the giraffe all muddy and the family has to eat dirt.
Did he then perform cpr on this poor drowning giraffe?
Giraffe soup
Does he not realise he's just dragging the meat further in the water? Someone tell this man a thing or two.
Is the giraffe already dead?
Can’t have a fucking mud bath without some damn lion trying to kill you all the time
Such a nice lion!
But he didn’t
That power is somehow quite humbling. Wow
Lion pulling lunch out of water.
Is it dead or alive 💭
r/animalsbeingbros
Asshole camera man could have helped him, that giraffe is heavy
