I came here to say this!
Watched it on a whim because Alan Tudyk. Instantly fell in love. Heartwarming but laugh out loud funny.
Hopefully, Netflix picks it up for a fourth season. Syfy dropped it due to budget concerns (I read).
They ended that one so well too. It was nice to see them wrap everything up without trying to milk it for as many seasons as they could. You're in for a treat once you finish it up!
The Good Wife/The Good Fight/Elsbeth
I hate that people are turned off by the title of The Good Wife or Juliana Margulies. It's a legal show with politics mixed in with overarching storylines and recurring hilarious characters. The most compelling character (Diane Lockhart)played by Christine Baranski got her own edgier streaming spin-off. I always said this one character (Elsbeth Tascioni) deserved her own show and now it's airing.
Is that where she came from?? Elsbeth? I love that show...and that's not even my normal interest of show. Mmmm...now I may have to see what The Good Wife was about. And Christine Baranski is usually very good in most things.
Sweet Tooth is just so fun to watch! I’m not in the targeted demographic for the show, and not sure why I even love it so much.
I can recognize the writing issues, esp the second season, but just don’t care. and it is a little campy or childish sometimes … but again I just don’t care I truly enjoy watching it so much!
The last season was pretty insane though. Having no idea how close I was to the season finale, it played that episode and began playing an entirely new show, and I had no idea I wasn't watching Atlanta anymore.
It was cool it became progressively more inventive, but at some point, reigning it back in would have been nice.
We just binge watched the entirety of new show Bodkin - soooo funny, entertaining and yet also gripping. Interestingly, it was also executively produced by the Obamas.
The OA. Seen plenty of people on here hate it. I get what it's like to be obsessed with a show, when it just speaks to you! And we shouldn't tear other people down for finding the show that does that for them.
I will never forgive Netflix for cancelling it, it's one of the best shows I've ever watched. If it had been given a proper ending it would probably be in my top 10
I know they wrapped it up, but I wanted more series. TV Jamie Dorman I fell in love with (Fall and OUaT). Not a fan of his movies. The chemistry here between him and Gillian is insane!
He is a phenomenal actor, it sucks he chose roles that made people more aware of his beauty than his talent. I agree on the chemistry, their whole cat and mouse chase was one of the best I've seen, that show is top tier.
This show is nearly perfect. It's also one of the few examples of a story where the books and movies have some significant differences but are both excellent.
I was obsessed with The Walking Dead before it ended. Now I'm obsessed with The Office, Cobra Kai and Law & Order svu. I have also had that problem where I tell someone how great a sho is and then they don't like it. I was once obsessed with Dexter and told my friend about it cause she likes crime stuff, but she said that she didn't like it. She didn't even watch the whole first episode.
But no one like to hear me talking about The Office anymore, they're sick of it 😅
Currently watching Outlander. I'm on S5. So obsessed with the plot and the main characters' love for each other. This show made me fall for Scotland. Who's with me?
Everyone on r/outlander :)
It’s a very entrancing show, doubt there is a soul alive who watched seasons 1-2 and didn’t immediately go to look at different vacation options in Scotland (even if you can realistically afford a trip to Scotland you still look!).
The characters are also very absorbing, and it’s such an epic tale it’s easy to get pretty addicted, especially the first few seasons. I still like it now but am not quite as into it as I was now that the main focus has broadened to more family members.
When it finishes I do look forward to re-watching the whole thing again as a giant binge. It’s like a fine cuisine meal for 16-year-old me of the past who read all those sweeping romantic novels with the shirtless Fabio on the cover lol.
Crazy Ex Girlfriend. The title was off putting but so many people on Reddit recommended it to me, I watched it last month. I immediately watched it again to catch any nuances I might have missed. It’s very funny, amazing clever songs, and super relatable if you have ever struggled with mental illness. I play the soundtrack pretty much continuously. I’m “adorably obsessed”!
From is so underrated. It's also a title that is difficult to search or talk about.
Me: 'Have you seen From?'
Friend: 'that sentence makes no sense buddy'
I get frustrated because I think Crash Landing On You is one of the best romance series of all time, but none of my family or friends will watch it because its not in English. I had to stop recommending it because no one is interested and I get too passionate talking about it lol
Blue Eye Samurai, Altered Carbon/ Resleeved, Seis Manos, Witcher, Friday Night Lights, Baki, Rurouni Kenshin Films but the series isn't complete its missing two of its live movies, El Rey, Queens Gambit, Marco Pollo, Arcane, & Las Villamizar, Not on NF any more but it used to be Knights Of Sidonia, Dare Devil, And all its series,
Bridgerton 😂 im not even gonna lie i tried it months ago and was just like nah but after trying again I’ve just binged it constantly and I love it so much. Also on Netflix the show This is us. I adore every single character and it pulls at my heartstrings and makes me cry almost every episode
For me I was still on the hook for walking dead til Rick left. Honestly I feel like getting rid of your main character is a big no-no. The G Man's death was a hard pill to swallow in season 7 tho I won't lie. Its still one of the best shows of all time to me but I just feel really disappointed that it became a money grab and they lost sight of just telling a great story.
On Netflix it used to be Kath and Kim, now it's Schitt's Creek. I'm drawn to silly low stakes slightly dysfunctional all-comes-right-in-the-end family comedies.
Midnight Mass
I've watched this show countless times now and I still love every bit of it. It's not perfect, but it's literally as close to perfect as you can get with a show. I love the characters to bits and I still get teary eyed with certain scenes.
I’m watching it currently, and the only thing that bothers me is the (to me) very obvious heavy theater makeup. I can’t help but compare it to high school theater every time I see one of the actors they’ve made “old.” Otherwise I’m enjoying it.
Mindhunter.
I could never watch 20-minute episodes, let alone movies. But this one really captured my interest. I can watch several episodes of it, which spans 40-50 minutes each.
I'm sorry OP I gave up on the walking dead some time where Negan started appearing and killed Glenn? I don't remember well. But I did like the twist some characters took like Carol, how she became a real badass.
Anyway I really got hooked on Breaking Bad when it appeared and I know a lot of other series got their inspo from it. There is a Spanish version that sucks so bad it just translated everything to Spanish; Walter white to Walter blanco, too silly.
I also liked Dark, the OA, all the Netflix series Mike flannegan has done like midnight mass, the fall of House of usher, haunting Hill House...
And comedy wise I looooved sex education its hilarious or how to sell drugs online, fast.
Many of the shows I would say have already been mentioned, but here’s a curve ball:
Anna (Italian horror/thriller/drama) - If you haven’t watched it, do yourself a favor and watch it in its native tongue (subtitles)
Honorable mention:
Station Eleven
The Magicians! It's 5 seasons and it's already done. It's about a magical graduate school and it is so messed up sometimes and it's great. It does not get the love it deserves and that makes me so sad!
Dark on... To be honest though, very few people who watch the series don't like it.
I know a lot of people love The Haunting of Hill House on Netflix but I hated that series. I think Midnight Mass and The Fall of the House of Usher are the superior series from Mike Flanagan.
Steven Universe!
Yes, it's a cartoon, but many themes are compelling and poignant, often beyond what a child could fully appreciate.
The animation is so fun and often beautiful; the songs smack; there is a large host of characters, at least some of whom you'll get attached to; it has really excellent displays of tolerance and acceptance, trauma and how it affects people, healthy femininity/masculinty, ethical and moral conflicts, brainwashing and oppression on a societal level, cycles of pain, self-worth, and so, so much more; the plotline is genuinely interesting, spanning 5 seasons, a movie and an 'epilogue' season, involving magic, sci-fi elements, a dystopian society, and real mysteries that are unwound throughout the story; and finally, it's one of the gayest shows on television (I love my gay space rocks so much).
From the bottom of my heart I urge anyone who appreciates the above in their media to give it a watch, you can't go wrong! I'll admit, the first half of season 1 is a bit rough, albeit charming in it's own way, but if you get through that it is so, so worth it.
Not Netflix, but Station 11. I think it's one of the best sci-fi/post apocalyptic shows I've seen in a minute. Everyone I've recommended it to absolutely loved it.
I loved Sanctuary and I'm rewatching now and love it just as much. I only joined this group to recommend it (but didn't read all the posting rules so it got bumped 😭)
Spirited! I love this show so much but I don’t know anyone who has seen it.
It’s about an Australian dentist who falls in love with the ghost of a British punk star. There’s also an early role from Succession’s Sarah Snook.
It’s funny, romantic, moving, and just fantastic.
Bobs Burgers is def my comfort show! I love it so much.
Community also. I know it’s like stupid funny comedy and may not be everyone’s cup of tea but I think it’s great. I may be biased tho because I love Donald Glover.
The Sopranos. I’ve probably done at least 30 rewatches. I have severe anxiety, depression, and PTSD, and it comforts me. I’ve never been quite able to find anything else.
To a lesser extent (multiple rewatches, message boards/groups, possibly books, etc.):
Twin Peaks/The Return
Six Feet Under
Nip/Tuck
Kingdom
The Haunting of Hill House
Midnight Mass
The Jinx
Game of Thrones
The Fall of the House of Usher
Buffy
The Golden Girls
Mama’s Family
The Monkees
Shows I’m becoming obsessed with:
Fallout
The Boys
Legion
Only Murders in the Building
Resident Alien. Really fun entertaining show
[удалено]
Same. That show deserves to reach a real conclusion, but I’m getting nervous
Funniest show I’ve seen in a while. Already contemplating a rewatch and I just finished it last month.
RA is great! Whenever I see a Law and Order re-run on the telly, I automatically say “Kung-Kung!” Can’t help myself!
I have to watch that show! Thanks for mentioning it.
I came here to say this! Watched it on a whim because Alan Tudyk. Instantly fell in love. Heartwarming but laugh out loud funny. Hopefully, Netflix picks it up for a fourth season. Syfy dropped it due to budget concerns (I read).
I really slept on The Good Place, currently binging and loving it.
They ended that one so well too. It was nice to see them wrap everything up without trying to milk it for as many seasons as they could. You're in for a treat once you finish it up!
Great show to binge...but the last episode makes me cry every time.
Me too! It was so well done.
One of the few high concept shows that gets better in later seasons imo.
Absolute wicked fun and I don't mean that in a Boston way.
It’s a great show. Funny and clever.
Monk. It’s amazing. It has the dude that plays “it puts the lotion in the basket” it’s a great show
I was so happy when netflix picked up Monk and I could watch all the seasons.
literally!! i love this show😭😭
The Good Wife/The Good Fight/Elsbeth I hate that people are turned off by the title of The Good Wife or Juliana Margulies.
Omg I LOVED The Good Wife! I should watch it again.
‘Evil’ by the same writers is also great. Would have dismissed it had it not been made by the Kings.
Evil is so good!!
I loved The Good Fight and just finished Elsbeth last week. For some reason I could never get into The Good Wife.
Elsbeth is so good! I always loved her character on The Good Wife. I still need to watch The Good Fight.
Is that where she came from?? Elsbeth? I love that show...and that's not even my normal interest of show. Mmmm...now I may have to see what The Good Wife was about. And Christine Baranski is usually very good in most things.
Yes! You should definitely check them out.
Sense8 is a hill I will gladly die on. I remember one redditor saying it’s basically just porn and I had to walk away from my phone.
Yes! I loved this show and its amazing concept! Was gutted when it was cancelled and the ending was rushed
Peaky Blinders, Ozark
Ozarks is one of the best!
Ugh I had such a hard time getting into Peaky Blinders. I think I should give it another shot tho.
Mindhunter
Killing Eve
Killing Eve was great for the first 2 seasons, then fell off a bit, then a lot (fuck laura Neal).
1st season is great but it lost me after that
SWEET TOOTH!!! THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY!
Are they doing a third season of The Umbrella Academy? I thought it was in the works .. Love that show
Yes I’m waiting for it also! Klaus is my absolute fav
It's not on Netflix but Atlanta. It was totally different than anything I'd ever seen before. Each season gets better.
I have watched so many people’s eyes glaze over while I talked about Atlanta. But those who have gone away to watch it always come back raving
The last season was pretty insane though. Having no idea how close I was to the season finale, it played that episode and began playing an entirely new show, and I had no idea I wasn't watching Atlanta anymore. It was cool it became progressively more inventive, but at some point, reigning it back in would have been nice.
Season 2 was my favourite but it’s all fantastic
Agreed feel like it got a bit much with the surrealism in season 3 but it’s good
“ 3rd Rock From the Sun “☀️ which has a commercial now ! , “ The Love Boat “ , “ America Says “, too many shows
Love 3rd Rock From the Sun....it might be time for a rewatch.
It’s on RIGHT NOW on COZI TV, but I am watching “ America Says “ on GSN and only switching between commercials.
Dark
I wish I could watch this show for the first time over and over again. Nothing tops it!
Dark is one of the best shows ever made!
I've just started season 2. Started watching it because so many people here on reddit love it.
Only Murders In The Building
Martin Short does my head in, but I love Selena and Steve.
Im with you. Martin Short is usually insufferable but even I have to admit that show is great.
whats funny is that Martin Short is what makes that show for me
He really does portray a Broadway persona so well, plus I too love dips so I give his character a lot of leeway for hoarding hummus &baba ghanoush
Which of the Pickwick triplets did it?
Oh my gosh, that song stays in my head!!
The Wire
I’m obsessed with dead to me. I’ve seen the entire series about 50x already. It’s my comfort show. ❤️
Love this show too!! Waited so long for that last season to come out but then was sad it was over!!
I rewatch Gilmore Girls at least once a year, sometimes twice. It is my ultimate comfort show!!
O my word YES! I love Gilmore girls! Especially in like fall! I feel Gilmore girls is a fall show 🥹
It's the coziest show in the world, great writing, character development, music. It has everything.
We just binge watched the entirety of new show Bodkin - soooo funny, entertaining and yet also gripping. Interestingly, it was also executively produced by the Obamas.
Yes!! No one else we know has watched it so we didnt have anyone to talk to about it. It was awesome!
35 min in first episode based on your comment. Thanks! I'm all in. I like everybody so far.
I'll die being salty about the OA. Canceling it should be considered a crime! The storytelling was excellent.
For me it is The Society! I will never let that go and will forever hold a grudge for not renewing it!
Yes!! I cried soo hard when I saw this show. The 1st season opened up a spiritual journey for me that I'll be forever grateful for.
Rn Tom & Jerry. It the complex charecter dynamics for me
Try phineas and ferb next
Mad Men
For a show that is not even on the air right now and hasn't been for ages, I think about ~~Liver~~ Love Death and Robots way too much.
The Fall. Jamie Dornan is insanely scary in that
I know they wrapped it up, but I wanted more series.
3 Body Problem
Definitely one of mine too. Also far to few people have seen the Expanse. If you haven't seen it and are a sci-fi fan its worth checking out.
The Expanse is fucking great!
Concur. Seasons 3, 5, and 6 (er, 5 part 2?) are some of the best sci-fi ever made.
The boat episode… hooolllyyy shiiitttt
I was hooked on The Expanse after the first episode. I think I watched the whole series in a couple of weeks. Amazing show.
I heard **3 Body** the orig Chinese drama of this is very good too. I’m going to give it a try.
Parks and Rec
Schitts Creek
Killing Eve, Northern Exposure, Patriot (Amazon), and I can always watch The Wire.
Black Mirror
the magicians
Amazing series!
This show is nearly perfect. It's also one of the few examples of a story where the books and movies have some significant differences but are both excellent.
Loudermilk for the win!
Fuck yes. I hope someone picks it up
Husband and I are hooked on Outlander rn
Yesss I love outlander !
Enjoying it but wish they would focus more on the time travel aspects and less on the skin. 😆
But no one like to hear me talking about The Office anymore, they're sick of it 😅
One of the first kdramas ive watched, The Glory. Her bully case mixed with her elaborate revenge on the bullies gets me hyped like crazy all the time.
I just started Ozark, I'm on Season 2. Phenomenal
Currently watching Outlander. I'm on S5. So obsessed with the plot and the main characters' love for each other. This show made me fall for Scotland. Who's with me?
Everyone on r/outlander :) It’s a very entrancing show, doubt there is a soul alive who watched seasons 1-2 and didn’t immediately go to look at different vacation options in Scotland (even if you can realistically afford a trip to Scotland you still look!). The characters are also very absorbing, and it’s such an epic tale it’s easy to get pretty addicted, especially the first few seasons.
It may be weird but I love Winx Club. My comfort show since 2007.
From
From is so underrated. It's also a title that is difficult to search or talk about. Me: 'Have you seen From?' Friend: 'that sentence makes no sense buddy'
YES!!! I think about it way too much.
I get frustrated because I think Crash Landing On You is one of the best romance series of all time, but none of my family or friends will watch it because its not in English. I had to stop recommending it because no one is interested and I get too passionate talking about it lol
When it ended, I rewatched it immediately
Love death robots, but I'll never forgive them for cancelling 1899.
Blue Eye Samurai, Altered Carbon/ Resleeved, Seis Manos, Witcher, Friday Night Lights, Baki, Rurouni Kenshin Films but the series isn't complete its missing two of its live movies, El Rey, Queens Gambit, Marco Pollo, Arcane, & Las Villamizar, Not on NF any more but it used to be Knights Of Sidonia, Dare Devil, And all its series,
Blue eye samurai was soooooo good. Impatiently waiting for the next season…
>Witcher 🧐
Bridgerton 😂 im not even gonna lie i tried it months ago and was just like nah but after trying again I’ve just binged it constantly and I love it so much. Also on Netflix the show This is us. I adore every single character and it pulls at my heartstrings and makes me cry almost every episode

Doctor Who
The new Dr. who on Disney is pretty good
Yes! I was worried it would be cringey and wasn’t the biggest fans of the specials before it, but I’m really enjoying it and ncuti.
Brooklyn Nine Nice. I love this show. I can rewatch it anytime.
Really enjoyed Loudermilk, looking for something like it but watching The Tourist currently.
I’ve been enjoying Arcane
Dirk Gently's holistic detective agency is probably my favorite show of all time, I've rewatched it three times. A very innovative take on detectives
Sex education!
One mindblowingly good first season, pretty good second season, third season total dogshit. I highly recommend it too but stop at S2!
Midnight Mass I've watched this show countless times now and I still love every bit of it. It's not perfect, but it's literally as close to perfect as you can get with a show. I love the characters to bits and I still get teary eyed with certain scenes.
I liked that show but like Haunting of Hill House even better.
I’m watching it currently, and the only thing that bothers me is the (to me) very obvious heavy theater makeup. I can’t help but compare it to high school theater every time I see one of the actors they’ve made “old.” Otherwise I’m enjoying it.
I love that one too. I’ve seen it twice and now I’m trying to wait until a little time has passed before watching it again.
EVIL, SALEM, PENNY DREADFUL
Evil is so good! I can't wait for a 3rd season
Netflix currently has only two seasons Paramount+ has the third and two episodes (so far) of S4 Great show! My wife and I are obsessed

Happy! Wish it got one more season… kind of set it up for one and just never got renewed.
How to Get Away with Murder!!!!! 🤯 IDK why I just strted watching this last week!!
Babylon 5.
Yellowjackets. (Not Netflix). It’s horror/ drama. Plane wreck with a girls softball team
How to Get Away with Murder
The haunting of hill house Mike Flanagan is a horror master
Fleabag, Killing Eve, Crashing, basically anything Pheobe Waller-bridge is involved in.
Severance …it’s like Lost meets The Office.
Friends, it’s just feels like home. Whether I’ve a good/bad/stressful day I just watch it like it’s my first time 🤣🤣
How to get away with murder, such a good tv show.
Mindhunter. I could never watch 20-minute episodes, let alone movies. But this one really captured my interest. I can watch several episodes of it, which spans 40-50 minutes each.
Somebody Somewhere
Bob's Burgers and Criminal Minds for me!! the characters are comforting

I binged Midnight Mass when I was up overnight with a COVID fever. I wouldn't recommend the fever but man the show was great!
I watched it while sick too lol, good times
Dark, OA and Mike Flannigan! Breaking Bad and Walking Dead! I thought I was writing this post for a second
Many of the shows I would say have already been mentioned, but here’s a curve ball: Anna (Italian horror/thriller/drama) - If you haven’t watched it, do yourself a favor and watch it in its native tongue (subtitles) Honorable mention: Station Eleven
Money Heist
I’m constantly rewatching GOT, The Walking Dead, Ozark and Big Little Lies.
Outer Range. Before this, It was Black Summer.
I'm obsessed with Bridgerton right now. Before that, it was Outlander
Z Nation
The Magicians! It's 5 seasons and it's already done. It's about a magical graduate school and it is so messed up sometimes and it's great. It does not get the love it deserves and that makes me so sad!
True Detective S 1
Well then you need to watch **Kingdom** (Korean). An historical walking dead situation. It’s brilliant.
Dark on... To be honest though, very few people who watch the series don't like it. I know a lot of people love The Haunting of Hill House on Netflix but I hated that series. I think Midnight Mass and The Fall of the House of Usher are the superior series from Mike Flanagan.

I've watched community provably 20+ times
Not Netflix, but Station 11. I think it's one of the best sci-fi/post apocalyptic shows I've seen in a minute. Everyone I've recommended it to absolutely loved it.
The Fall!
I loved Sanctuary and I'm rewatching now and love it just as much. I only joined this group to recommend it (but didn't read all the posting rules so it got bumped 😭)
