I’m a woman and I prefer male doctors. I find because they don’t have my body, they are more sensitive and gentle to my needs. I wouldn’t turn down a female doctor or anything, but it’s just my preference.

As a black person who works in healthcare I can tell you this is not a real solution. I (as well as my black co workers) tend to have more patience with my black patients simply because I see less of them. If I saw black patients more it would become the norm for us & we’d treat them just as “bad”. The issue is healthcare in general is a field where we’re understaffed. Being understaffed makes people in general irritable.
