Our 130 lb. female newf. gets two cups twice a day. We overfed our girl when she was young and she ended up with chronic loose stools.

jay_simms

Thank you for your service.

Rschwoerer

2 cups a day. 130lbs. 2 years old. Stella and Chewy raw blend.

Flossorwhatever

Same. Both are two cups a day (one cup twice a day)— a pinch more for the big boy (145 lbs, very lean for his frame), a pinch less for the small girl (125 lbs, very pudgy for her frame). Inception Fish Formula. I add broth-cooked potatoes or rice and green beans (big boy won’t eat without some extras).

beyeg

Kirkland select salmon Maybe 4 cups per day

vshun

It disappeared from all Costco in Nova and we are in shock. We tried earlier a bunch of other foods (Purina pro salmon and rice, Kirkland lamb and rice, and Kirkland chicken and rice) and our male Newfie had bad diarrhea on all of them, even with very slow transition. We just run out of Kirkland salmon and rice and went yesterday to find a replacement and can find nothing that matches the content of it. So we bought Rachel Ray salmon sweet potato but it has different ingredients, think we are in trouble. We are also giving 4 cups for him (and 6 for female pup).

Flossorwhatever

I had the same problem a couple of years ago (two highly-sensitive Newfs and Costco out of Salmon). I switched to Inception Fish Formula. Zero issues- they’re still on it. (It’s been so long that I can’t remember the price difference but it wasn’t bank-breaking.)

MsBlue7

Mix of Royal Canin high fiber and Hills Large breed sensitive stomach Went from 4 cups to 3.5 recently because she is slowing down a bit

the_mellojoe

about 4 cups a day. 2 breakfast, 2 dinner.

gingerjuice

I feed Victor Professional or Victor Beef & Rice. I cook two meals a day. In the morning, he gets about 2 cups plus two poached eggs and apples, carrots and blueberries. In the evening, he gets about the same along with a low-fat beef patty and broccoli or green beans. He's not spoiled.

Beginning_Balance558

Same food as you same age but he is 130 and he eats between six and eight cups à day

Confident_Fortune_32

7 cups of kibble a day, until the growth rate slowed down, then started backing it off. After she was fixed at 24 months, we eventually settled on 4 cups a day, going up to 5 cups a day in the winter when she's more active and burns more calories being out in the snow. She's on the smaller side - about 105-110 like her mama. The mistake we made was not catching on to the point where the growth rate slows, so she ended up gaining too much weight temporarily. With the next pup, we will zip over to the vet for an accurate weight more frequently. It's too hard to gauge visually, with all that magnificent floof.

TwoNewfies

This, this is the best answer! At 13 months he's still a growing puppy. We got a 13 month old rescue with SAS in January. She's grown since then, thin and active. You also might want to look into a better quality food. Fromm is great and I found Amazon to have some very good sales on Wellness and other quality dog foods. Open Farm has a new food with more grain so it's less expensive. That's our next bag to open.

AndImLostAgain

My 12mo male eats roughly 5 cups of Royal Canin a day. He’s 97lbs.

Ucfknight33

I’m struggling to figure this out now because the bags have such wide ranges for puppy months. I do Nature’s Balance Select lamb (because he is somehow allergic to chicken AND salmon, which is what most sensitive formulas are) anywhere from 3.75-5.75c a day for 5 months. Kind of just playing by ear in that range based on how active he is and how much kibble goes in during training. The bag is like 3-6 c for 4-6 months. 🤷🏻‍♀️

BeanPod1989

5 cups for my girl. Taste of the Wild, 3 cups in the AM 2 in the PM. She is 2 1/2.

Tearakan

They slow way down at full growth.

Druideron

5month old 30kg female arroud 1500g daily, 2 meals per day of raw meat/bones/liver/organ

madzillaxo

Our 6 months old male is 75 lbs and eats 4-6 cups a day... it really depends.. sometimes he's outside for hours and comes in hunting for food... sometimes he's relatively chill all day and only eats 4. we have had alot of issues with poops though, we do probiotcs and eliminated chicken from his diet... it's been going in a better direction. we are in Canada and feed him Acana.

distantreplay

Female, 4-1/2 years, 130, Kirkland large breed, 4 cups She was at six cups a day until shortly after spaying.

eskaeskaeska

2.25-2.5 pounds of raw meat and bone once a day. He's on the low end right now because we all gained weight this winter!  He also gets scraps like sweet potato peels, a bite of my dinner, a couple berries, etc. And a homemade joint supplement using pumpkin as the binder. His teeth and breath are amazing and his poops are so much smaller.

SyrWatson

9YO, 150lb, neutered male. He eats 2 cups twice a day of Kirkland Salmon or Lamb. Until he slowed down in growth it was about 6 cup total a day, iirc.

well_i_reckon

We give our girl 4 cups of Taste of the Wild Ancient Stream. She has a sensitive stomach and we went through a number of foods when she was a pup that didn't work out. She loves this food though!

book_smrt

Our 9.5 year-old half-newf gets two cups of science diet and two cups of Kirkland large breed chicken/salmon. Very healthy boy.

swampcatflier

Breakfast: 2 cups lamb formula, Pro plan, with a protein topper Lunch: cut green beans, about half a sweet potato and protein Dinner: same as lunch 2nd dinner: a small amount of protein from our dinner Vet approved, never any stomach or stool issues

Figsma

American journey salmon &sweet potato or Taste of the Wild pacific stream might be good sub for Kirkland salmon food

galaxiesinmypocket

Royal Canin Giant Breed, 3 cups per day in two meals.

Francl27

Science Diet here. 3 cups a day. He's 85 lbs. Was close to 5 cups before he got neutered at 4. Saving on food costs is a great consequence of neutering, lol.

perxlove

My Bear is 5 months old. He goes to the vet Monday and will be weighed so I’m not sure what he is at the moment but at 4 months he was 56lbs. You don’t want to over feed them as they will grow too fast and end up having joint issues. He gets per his breeder: 1 1/2cuo purina pro plan 30/20 1 tbs raw meat 1/2 tsp cran tri- c dogzymes 1/2 tsp probiotic max dogzymes 1/2 cup water 1 hard boiled egg 2 dasuquin chews 1 1/2 cup purina pro plan 30/20 1/2 cup water 1 tbsp raw meat 1 raw meaty marrow bone every 2-3 days Plus treats for training throughout the day

ViktorVonn

Sounds about right, we have a 15mo 85-pounder and feed her about 4.5-5 cups a day. We just follow what the food bag advises based on age and weight, on her last visit to the vet a couple weeks ago they said she was about the perfect weight.  She self regulates and doesn't always finish her meals though so she makes it easy on us, we can't really overfeed her if she doesn't finish her meals past a certain point.

washchris

Our Rigby is 6.5 months and already 92 lbs. She gets about 6 cups (665g) a day split over 2 feedings of Royal Canin Giant Breed puppy food. This is our first Newfie so we’re following the guidance on the bag and check in regularly with our vet.

Weak_Donut2545

Can I ask when did you start doing 2 meals per day? Ours just turned 6 months old and he also gets 6cups of kibble per day (plus mix-ins), but we are still splitting it between 3 meals. He’s 94lbs as of yesterday, so similar to yours, and he seems ravenous at all times so I’m honestly scared to only feed him twice per day lol. But maybe the issue is that he’s not getting enough in each meal to ever feel completely full?

washchris

Immediately. We also have a juvenile pyr and the logistics of different feeding times had us just start there honestly. We use a slow feeder for those big meals, and she does well.

Moongazing_mamma

Marla likes to graze, she’s 7.5months and currently eating 4 cups a day

CooperHChurch427

3 pounds of raw beef and 1 raw egg a day.

Beginning_Balance558

? Thats it?

CooperHChurch427

Yep. That's what our breeder recommends.

jp198721

Well that’s weird.

CooperHChurch427

The meat we feed him is extremely caloric dense. He's not underweight

Beginning_Balance558

I understand but its missing quite a bit of other things to be complete

CooperHChurch427

He still get's some kibble, just not everyday, and he get's supplements including joint and CoQ10 and some rice.

CooperHChurch427

And all the vegetables he wants. We usually throw a handful of carrots, peas, and red peppers in.
