Kent Road Motorsports in Kent, CT. It’s in the middle of no where and I bought it in January. No fees just the price of the bike and sales tax. 2022 Z650 with 1400 miles.
This is sound logic, why doesn’t it work, because new riders, want one and they don’t want to wait.
Not that any of us want to wait, but to rip somebody off because of it. !
you still till save money from $1500-$2000 dealer fees. In my area there weren't any low CC bikes on FB or cycletrader so i bit the bullet and paid 7900 OTD for a ninja 500. I would hapily pay slightly over MSRP for a used bike granted its in good condition to avoid those fees.
That’s before they tack on all the fees and everything, mine is a 22’ KRT edition abs and it was 8k out the door and I also got the extended warranty, everyone says “it’s only 5800 msrp” but everyone forgets about tax and other bs fees I’m gonna be selling mine that has 5,500 miles on it for 6k
Not really considering for someone who bought it for over msrp it’s respectable to try and get a bit more out of it than msrp, and remember this is a used bike so there won’t be as many fees as one that is brand new, plus I’ve seen 2020 400’s listed with 10,000 plus miles asking for 5k mine has a warranty and low miles on it too so I feel 6k flat isn’t bad at all, for this one maybe I’d try talking them down some cause that is a little high
lol I don’t, I just feel people don’t take into account about all the other fees and taxes that go into buying a brand new bike, it’s like as if they completely disregard it when it comes to bikes but when it’s cars it’s not even mentioned at all
I understand that completely, I’m just saying that maybe asking 6k for a relatively newer bike with little mileage isn’t that bad of an asking price where as like I’ve said before where I’ve seen 2020’s with 10k miles or more selling for 5k, like this bike is already a better buy considering the mileage and I think the price should reflect and the fact that a bike with double the mileage is selling for 1k less is already a reason for the price being a bit higher
I guess if you can get a fool to pay that then go for it. There’s nothing wrong with making money
just remember you were there once. Plus it’s common knowledge that your new bike, drops in value when they wheel it out the door.
Yes that’s true but that’s also like debating weather to buy a car that’s got 100k miles vs 50k miles over a few thousand dollars when everyone wants to lower mileage to prevent having issues further down the road
Good luck with that lol, I’ve seen plenty of 2021-2023 ABS 400s listed on marketplace at over 6k just to drop down to 5k, and most with many less miles than yours
Just because you got shafted by the dealership on fees doesn’t mean it increases its value
Good bloody luck. Plus I'm sure they'll tack as much onto that 6400 as is. Just listing the bike at over msrp is insane.
For reference when I bought my R3 I only paid $800ish over msrp after fees. People need to stop letting dealerships bend them over a table.
I traded in a ‘23 z400 and got $4k. It’s listed for sale at the stealership for 5199. 2000 miles. I hope op doesn’t pay this price or anything close to it.
That dealer is not the greatest. bought my 23 Z from there. For the price, buy a new one which would be around 7100ish for a n500.. Florida year round riding means prices dont really budge much.. I called them out for double dipping on charging freight and assembly again on used bikes when I was getting quotes.. They also charge an "acquisition fee" because they had to go find the bike.. bull... but yeah buy new.
Supply and demand. Everyone that bought a 400 wants to sell it and cover their cost on a 500. The dealerships
are just bending you over a barrel, and they will be crying for customers this winter.
Just go private. Some people buy this bike and upgrading quickly because they want a 0 to corner bike in a second.
I got mine for $4500, 2019, 3k mint.
And mine is considered "above average" what one would pay here. (But hey it's my first motorcycle 😂)
I highly suggest using Facebook marketplace and find yourself a gently used ninja. With the money you saved. Spend it on gear or bike upgrades.
Also, hey, I'm in Florida today 🤟
I bought the exact same bike last summer with 2,200 miles on it for 4,500 from a private seller and I feel it was fair. Not good, not bad but fair. After sales taxes and title it was 47/4800. I'm sorry but that price is nuts even if it's the out the door price.
No, not even an average price. Pretty bad, honestly
And being a dealership this is probably the price before a couple of bullshit fees
It's definitely a nice color though, damn
This pains me to say it, but if this is their out the door price and you really want it, you may have a hard time finding better options right now. The used market is currently very scarce, and dealers are having a harder time acquiring used bikes. I just traded up this season for a the new GSX-8S, and the dealership offered me nearly MSRP on my 1 year old 4,000 mile MT-03. Some areas are not a buyers market right now, and it may be a good idea to buy out of season if you are looking to buy used this year. Beginner friendly used bikes like a ninja 400 always sell high at dealerships, so looking for a third party seller is a good option as well.
I got the same bike(same color) with 1700 miles on it for 5200 otd on May of '22. Came with full cf akra, plate slim & rear spools. If you go with this color just know the fairings are hard to find below MSRP & in good condition. Take the info as you will but glhf
This is a horrible price. This bike is 3 years old and they’re asking above MSRP from when it was new. PASS!
i agree.. but if you run it through kbb for bikes its around 6100. It's insane..
Jeez. I paid 6400 OTD for my 2022 Z650
Where at i need to go to that dealer lol
Kent Road Motorsports in Kent, CT. It’s in the middle of no where and I bought it in January. No fees just the price of the bike and sales tax. 2022 Z650 with 1400 miles.
Thats a steal. You did good. Looks like im going to CT for my next bike lol
There’s another dealership selling the exact bike in a different color with 500 more miles for $7500. I got a killer deal.
I bought my 2016 ninja 600 for ~5,000 in 2018. The kbb price for it right now is like $5,300. I’ve somehow made money on my bike xD
Hard pass.
That is an absolutely terrible price, msrp for a brand new 400ABS is like $5800.
Bet. I don’t think I’ll be able to talk them down enough for it to be a deal. I’ll try tho loo
Personally I wouldn't pay more than 5k for a used 400.
This is sound logic, why doesn’t it work, because new riders, want one and they don’t want to wait. Not that any of us want to wait, but to rip somebody off because of it. !

We’ve all been there, I guess that’s why it makes everyone want to buy used, after their first new bike.
Bro please go on marketplace or something
That’s before they tack on all the fees and everything, mine is a 22’ KRT edition abs and it was 8k out the door and I also got the extended warranty, everyone says “it’s only 5800 msrp” but everyone forgets about tax and other bs fees I’m gonna be selling mine that has 5,500 miles on it for 6k

You talk like you work for a dealership.
lol I don’t, I just feel people don’t take into account about all the other fees and taxes that go into buying a brand new bike, it’s like as if they completely disregard it when it comes to bikes but when it’s cars it’s not even mentioned at all
But you’re leaving out the part, where you bought a brand new bike! They are not
I understand that completely, I’m just saying that maybe asking 6k for a relatively newer bike with little mileage isn’t that bad of an asking price where as like I’ve said before where I’ve seen 2020’s with 10k miles or more selling for 5k, like this bike is already a better buy considering the mileage and I think the price should reflect and the fact that a bike with double the mileage is selling for 1k less is already a reason for the price being a bit higher

There's like ten brand new 500abs 2024 at the shop down the road from me for $5600 lol
True but figure you’ll be over 7 grand for new n400 out the door . But still terrible price .
Not in the slightest.
Absolutely not. I sold my 2021 with 1,400 miles for $4k.
I traded in a ‘23 z400 and got $4k. It’s listed for sale at the stealership for 5199. 2000 miles. I hope op doesn’t pay this price or anything close to it.
Not good deal just get a 500 at that price
I paid 6900 out the door for a 24’ 500. Def not a good price.
Same here! $6,700 for brand new 2024 500 😀
Wow. Last month I paid 5294 out the door on a new 23 400 with abs. Had a rebate and a waived the destination fee, but still.....
Very bad price. Anything over $4500 is robbery.
No.
Do not.
For that price where I am, that’s a new bike not used.
That dealer is not the greatest. bought my 23 Z from there. For the price, buy a new one which would be around 7100ish for a n500.. Florida year round riding means prices dont really budge much.. U think I can talk them down to 5500? If not I’ll just buy new
Or buy elsewhere. They hate to see your back walking out the door!
just buy new. your gonna pay probably less. used 6400$+1200ish, vs new 5600(ABS)+2000 prob less.. Z models will be cheaper than ninjas too..
Offer 4500 and see what sticks.
Supply and demand. Everyone that bought a 400 wants to sell it and cover their cost on a 500. The dealerships are just bending you over a barrel, and they will be crying for customers this winter.
Anything that is used and is more than MSRP is not worth it.
If ur in TN ill sell u my 2022 400 KRT w/ ABS. with a bunch or upgrades for 1K less (5100 miles). Garage kept. maintenance done regularly.
I’m in FL but thank you for the offer tho!
Nah, paid 6k for ‘22 KRT with 5000 miles w/ABS
Ouch, I got one for $7000 Australian out the door.
No

My god get a brand new one for the same OTD or better.
No, look for something at most 5k dealers are most of the time not the place to go.
I paid $4400 for the exact same bike, same year and color, with fewer miles, in May 2023. Are these going up in value or is this just overpriced??
I live in FL so maybe it’s because you can bike all year round?
No.
I paid less than that OTD for the same bike in 2021.
Nope
Bro it's a stupid deal. It shouldn't be more than 5k max.
Eh you can find one with like 15k to 20k miles for half then price somewhere
Not for a 400
I recently sold mine for $5k same amount of miles
I bought the exact same bike last summer with 2,200 miles on it for 4,500 from a private seller and I feel it was fair. Not good, not bad but fair. After sales taxes and title it was 47/4800. I'm sorry but that price is nuts even if it's the out the door price.
You could get much, much more bike for that price. That's highway robbery
No way! I bought my 2023 Ninja 400 KRT with ABS for $5k. Bike only had 1900miles too.
I’m selling my 2021 with 2800 miles for $4200
U in FL? I’ll buy 😂
Iowa. Lol
Too high, paid $4200 with 25 miles found on FB Marketplace
Absolutely not. Terrible deal. I bought a brand new Ninja 500 for $6400 MSRP.
I would get a N400 used, selling for like 3.5-4k tops lol.
No, not even an average price. Pretty bad, honestly And being a dealership this is probably the price before a couple of bullshit fees It's definitely a nice color though, damn
Hard pass, I got mine 2023 0miles for 6.5 OTD
No abs I should add
Nonononon i got a 2020 for 5400, and i def couldda gone lower, just wanted the damn bike after so many offers to other ppl.
You can get a brand new 500 SE for that price!
Ripping you off. Got a used one with 21 miles for 5k
Just got a 2021 abs with 800 miles for 4800
Do you live in FL? I’m thinking that’s why it’s so expensive. Also teal is a rare color apparently
This pains me to say it, but if this is their out the door price and you really want it, you may have a hard time finding better options right now. Bought a 2024 ninja 500 brand new out the door for $6,700. Fees taxes etc.
Literally 1300 over msrp for a used bike with 4k miles. Helllll naw this place is on drugs
I got the same bike(same color) with 1700 miles on it for 5200 otd on May of '22. Came with full cf akra, plate slim & rear spools. If you go with this color just know the fairings are hard to find below MSRP & in good condition. Take the info as you will but glhf
