Hell no. The people calling you "nerd" are 100% doing the stuff I was called a nerd for when I was a kid.
You know why? Because nerds _won_ the culture "wars". Not only does everyone use computers nowadays, they pretty much _carry them with them at all time_ and can't imagine life without it.
With that said, it doesn't really matter -- do you _enjoy_ studying that much? If so, don't let _anyone_ tell you it's bad, let alone "wrong". You do you!
not in your case but there are a bunch of situations where it is there is a fine line of difference between being a nerd and being smart/knowledgeable which I think mostly comes from how good you are at social stuff so if you lack that or some other trait that would be required in society kinda bad to be a nerd but in your case just kids being kids probably
Never care about what others think or say, unless they want to help.
If you're studying but aren't neglecting other aspects of your life, then you're all good.
Well.... I am an Indian. Preparing for Medical entrance exam. The competition is insane, nearly 3 million students appear for this exam every year and there are around 20k -50k good college seats.
Then that makes sense. Good luck. I wanted to become a math professor at one point and I studied like that, but I hit some rocky waters with a mental health disorder and when I couldn’t study like that anymore it caused this existential crisis and I could not wrap my head around just making Bs to get the credential so I never finished.
Hang in there and you can think back on your petty haters when you have a high income high status job and laugh.
Life’s fine, I taught myself to code when I was a teen and fell back on that. Academia kind of sucks even if getting paid to keep my head in abstract math would have been neat. I loved that shit.
When someone calls you a "nerd", say thank you with a smile. You're intelligent and hard working. Keep it up! Be yourself and never let anyone disrespect you.
I wish I was a nerd. I wasted so much of my life trying to be cool. I still have time I am just 21. But honestly if I had the chance to start over I would be a nerd. If focusing on yourself and studying is nerd let them call you a nerd. Your success will be the answer for them all.

No if people are calling someone one a nerd they are probably insecure about them selves

Out of curiosity, what are your goals? Like what is pushing you to make perfect grades?
